Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

I don't think Natasha is allowed to say anything bad about another MLM. I'm sure I read that in the DSA code of conduct somewhere.

cozietoesie · 14/05/2016 19:41

Section 11?

Mrshumblepants · 14/05/2016 20:02

Well... Its a bot quiet now! Anyway, what were w discussing?

Mrshumblepants · 14/05/2016 20:03

Believe it or not, that wasnt meant to say bot! But I'll roll with it for fun!

NorbertDentressangle · 14/05/2016 20:47

What does it say about FL that people are jumping ship from it to go to LTW?!

It's like being dumped and your ex running off with, erm, I don't know ......a cross between Katie Hopkins and Waynetta Slob.

gottaloveascamhun · 14/05/2016 20:48

Nice meme MrsHumblepants!

MrsClueless · 14/05/2016 21:26

My local bot, who is a business mentor (!) has had her upward manager congratulate her on getting the house of her dreams, the car of her dreams and getting her child into the school of her dreams. Said house is apparently in a very upmarket neighbourhood. The reality is the car is on finance, the house is rented and came about as she was kicked out of her last rental as the owner sold and her child isn't the school of her dreams at all! She's staying at the same school she's been at the past 3 years in a very undesirable part of town. The free time she apparently has to spend with her child is spent working. She is working abroad for the next 10 days and won't see her child. Her husband picks up the slack. Business in the Middle East is apparently very good ATM.

lastuseraccount123 · 14/05/2016 21:43

hey teamies!

so, since the "they all swap their shite to look successful" post our supporters have provided us with some more tips...including swapping by FL bots.

good tiiiimes

lastuseraccount123 · 14/05/2016 21:46

can we just make MLMs illegals already? gah.

someone mentioned back there that a serious journalist needs to look into MLMs. agreed, but i had a long interesting chat to a doc maker about that - in fact journalists have tried to get the public interested before but have been met with apathy. I think WE are a huge part of this equation of we want them shut down. It's great what we've done so far and you are all awesome, but we need to keep the pressure on - keep reporting the fuckers to the ASA and the MHRA for fake health claims, keep writing to your MPs, keep talking about it in social media.

Mrshumblepants · 14/05/2016 21:56

last understood, I think the apathy was probably encountered before the facebook/social media onslaught that has occured over the last two years maybe? Almost everyone who is on social media now has a bot story to share, I think the timing maybe wasnt right then, I think recently that may be starting to change, newsfeeds are clogged with this shit now... I thinkg the GP have had enough. FWIW I think the time is finally right... ;-)

lastuseraccount123 · 14/05/2016 22:04

i hope so!

Dollytwat · 14/05/2016 22:48

Has Barnbot gone?
Shame I was out with my friends and missed her.

I guess if the cc is going down then the worker bot's will have to sell more. So the % commission will go up for the top bot's on the retail value.

I wonder what Barnbot came here to say?

Mrshumblepants · 14/05/2016 23:01

Alas Dolly such a brief visit from our resident bot! What happened? I am not entirely sure what she came to say either? 😕

DoTheMLMHustle · 14/05/2016 23:07

I think it might have been

'Everything is Fiiiiine, I'm shitting rainbows'

Or something?

Twunk · 14/05/2016 23:18

I think I may have upset her.

Sorry not sorry

Alabamarama · 15/05/2016 00:10

Surely not...

DoTheMLMHustle · 15/05/2016 00:12

Anyone can write one of those meme things. Who needs facts

BSintolerant · 15/05/2016 00:19

Definitely not alabamarama.

That statistic refers to the type of women who flog their clients.

LeafTreeRaker · 15/05/2016 00:45

Another wrap MLM. Contains a synergistic blend of shite. Whatever that may mean.

I've just been looking at their annual income disclosure and it appears that you really ought to be at level 4 or up to make considerable average earnings. The bottom three levels are made up of over 98% of the reps. So hardly anyone makes money.

Can't wait to start selling these amazing wraps and live my dream Hmm

twunk Perhaps the Tenant of Bot Barn has been put in Mumsnet Prison overnight for overuse of exclamation marks. It's standard practice for breach of the punctuation peace. Wink

I wish they'd release Eyes. Bonjour Eyes!

MrGrumpy01 · 15/05/2016 07:39

Parents Magazine on FB has an interesting article at the moment about mom. Well it's the comments really, lots of bitter to the eyeballs and anyone disagreeing with them is just mean - after all they are just making a living.

Sadly I can't link as having some logging in issues on my phone/tablet but it is a few articles down if you search for Parents Magazine (it has an orange P as its profile)

MrGrumpy01 · 15/05/2016 07:40

Well not about mom, about mlm.

And whilst I didn't mean bitter to the eyeballs, it kind of fits.

My autocorrect on the tablet is really annoying.

TwatbadgingCuntfuckery · 15/05/2016 07:56

I do love a good infographic even if it's questionable

More inspofuckery filling my feed.

Also... U.K. As number 1 country. Number 1 at what? Selling aloe or recruiting?
