Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Leery? I thought that was like a drunk 'uncle' gazing down your top at a family do, type thing

Spongebobette · 13/05/2016 14:33

Ariiiiiix bot thinks your insides are DIRTY. Must ask my liver what the hell it thinks it's doing.

❤️❤️❤️
I love this.
It's like washing your insides 😀

One simple little drink which attracts and removes unwanted substances from the body, including stubborn fat stores, and helps restore the body's natural pH levels.

By including this drink as part of your daily routine it will support your body's normal detoxification processes helping you to get back in balance.

Spongebobette · 13/05/2016 14:37

Oh and it 'nourishes you on a cellular level'
A CELLULAR level.
That's the best sort of level.

Twunk · 13/05/2016 15:20

Wow a drink will get rid of fat stores?! Call the Chief Medical Officer!! We've solved the obesity crisis!!!

Twunk · 13/05/2016 15:20
Hmm
Mrshumblepants · 13/05/2016 16:22

Well, it is quite important to give your insides a good wash when you are touching your bizness all day. Normally I cleanse my insides with water, but if a good old MOan will flush me out, then
Who am I to argue?

Mrshumblepants · 13/05/2016 16:36

On that note, have been watching a slightly bizarre video of an ariix bot and child drinking water from a stagnant pond using some weird water filter bottle? I honestly hope to god, that there is some sort of uk/international standard for safe water filtration that this device has passed before they used it for that, because just because water looks and tastes clean doesnt mean it is safe to drink in all forms. Not all filtration is equal when it comes to water, there are some very nasty parasites/bacteria that can still evade certain filtration methods, this is extremely worrying.

Mrshumblepants · 13/05/2016 16:37

It would be helpful to get further clarification on the above if anyone knows anything about this?

smiinky · 13/05/2016 16:43

the only place I can find MOA online its 35 euros (£27) for 17 servings (so that's about £1.60 a serving) They recommend two doses a day so that's two bottles a month. £54 a month on wampum. Sad.
The ingredients look really similar to the coloured powder (by Flavon Max) that my internet stalkers are trying to push on me.
These mlms are all so similar aren't they? MOA is Juice Plus vitamins for people who shop in Waitrose.

Twunk · 13/05/2016 16:43

Actually I do know someone who worked in water purity for many many years (at government level)

Apart from anything else our water is chlorinated to kill the very nasty bugs... I doubt a filter would do that.

smiinky · 13/05/2016 16:47

mrshumblepants there are already water purifier type bottles you can get if you're into camping in places where you'd need to do this, but they don't cost as much as Ariix products do. More like £20 a bottle. Some of the Ariix purifier bottles are over £100
It's one thing signing people up with tales of a worldwide finanicial apocalpyse but it sounds like they are flogging products for an imagined apocalypse, too.

DoTheMLMHustle · 13/05/2016 16:57

What on earth does anyone need to use one of those for?

I get my water from the tap

Mrshumblepants · 13/05/2016 16:59

Right, I could be totally off track here, so please correct me If I am wrong, but doesnt prepping for an apocalyptic/end times scenario have something to do with the LDS church? Is there a connection?

BTW, to clarify, these are questions not statements, so I defer to those more knowledgeable on the connections between mlms and certain religious organisations...

Mrshumblepants · 13/05/2016 17:01

Oh, and on the subject of price...

gottaloveascamhun · 13/05/2016 17:08

One of the mum's at school pickup had a LTW poster in her car window :/

gottaloveascamhun · 13/05/2016 17:09

No apostrophe damnit! ! Mums plural!!

Mrshumblepants · 13/05/2016 17:17

Oh gotta how classy! 😬 Was she flogging chickpeas and yazoo at knockdown prices out of the car boot? 😂 Be wary on cake sale day, unless you are a fan of semolina!

Mrshumblepants · 13/05/2016 17:21

Yes twunk, I was under the impression that you usually have to chlorinate stagnant water, then boil it, then filter it with this kind of device to kill all the nasties? I thought these products were purely for emergencies only and to be used with running water wherever possible?

Again, more info is needed on that...

PowerofThree · 13/05/2016 18:22

So apparently BBC Radio 5 live did a slot on network marketing on 5 live Daily today. I haven't listened to it to know what angle they took but they had an a FBO as one of the guests. It's available on iplayer.

yoomoo · 13/05/2016 18:23

Hi all! Have been lurking on these threads for last couple of weeks after seeing one in Active. I have an FL bot on Facebook and I can't look away it's fascinating! Anyhow, reason for posting is this appeared on a local FB page I follow, looks intriguing. Have you heard of it before?

PowerofThree · 13/05/2016 18:25

Also has anyone else seen the meme with photos showing 'what my mum thinks I do', 'what my friends think I do', 'what I really do' for network marketing which has a picture of Ghandi under 'what I think I do'...? I'm sure I will be told it is intended as a joke!

yoomoo · 13/05/2016 18:31

Yes I've seen that Power. My face = Hmm

smiinky · 13/05/2016 18:38

yoomoo oh no not another one, they are like mushrooms, they appear overnight.

smiinky · 13/05/2016 18:39

here we go botwatchers, all the usual crap, social selling, empowerment. Sigh.
www.maellebeauty.com/

Twunk · 13/05/2016 18:39

Yup seen it Hmm - they'll be saying Ghandi was a network marketer next (along with Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and the Pope)

Oh god not another MLM.

I think it's interesting (and someone mentioned it before) that the industry is MLM. Not beauty and cosmetics, not grocery, not candles, not jewellery, etc etc etc. It's because they know their products are no better than the mainstream competition in whatever it is they're selling.
