Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Well done to that lady for speaking out.

stopfaffing · 19/05/2016 07:53

Looking through the comments at the bottom of the article (one's mine Grin) none are supportive of MLM's or FL. All think it's a scam. That is reassuring to read. Maybe later (after bots have done their mindset training) there will be posts defending the indefensible.

LunaLoveg00d · 19/05/2016 08:02

Really positive that criticism of these scams is now reaching the mainstream.

Twunk · 19/05/2016 08:16

Dammit it's the Daily Fail. But they are the right newspaper for this I think - the target audience is right!

Very pleased with the article Smile

Cosmiccreepers203 · 19/05/2016 08:35

Has anyone watched the video in the comments on the Facebook link? He is amazing. You can also get to it on his Facebook page. Love the hashtag #fuckjuiceplus.

noyouarenotalifestylecoach · 19/05/2016 09:22

"Don't blame the company"

"This woman just wanted a get rich quick scheme"

"She clearly has no work ethic"

"She didn't understand what she was doing"

Know, you can blame the company for their terrible practice. She didn't want a get rich quick she me, she was SOLD an impossible dream, regardless of work ethic. She was lied to!

Pleased to see that the comment section is lit with people who can see straight through this bullshit.

Also, that isn't a Mumsnet thread or a TV post, it's not middle aged key board warriors - that IS the general consensus. People hate it. People hate you for it. You look like a mug.

noyouarenotalifestylecoach · 19/05/2016 09:24

Twunk, I agree. Hate the DM but this is a great outlet to reach their target audience. Can't wait to see the shares on FB. Especially if they post the article on their page.

Just remember FBOs, you must ignore the negativity Wink

Mrshumblepants · 19/05/2016 09:36

Barnbot? Barnbot? where art thou?

noyouarenotalifestylecoach · 19/05/2016 09:51

Can our ex managers please let us know what's going on behind the scenes in light of the DM article?

Mrshumblepants · 19/05/2016 10:02

In all seriousness, here is a message for Natashabarnbotshingles I have just read your 2nd blog post and you are clearly an educated, intelligent and insightful woman. You have obviously been through many hard life experiences. Your blog post is well written, considered and a little sad. With your background and way of writing, why not ditch this forever/mlm crap and all these fake friends and study counselling or writing etc? Make a career from it? Did it ever occur to you that in the same way that your mum was trying to protect you from potentially bad experiences, that we (albeit a group of total strangers) may actually have the same motivations for protecting people such as yourself from the dangers of becoming involved in dodgy schemes such as Forever, Juice plus, younique (Insert relevant mlm here)?

I hope you can find your true self, not a giant cheque waving fake it till you make it self. The self that can see the struggle of others and can help them through your own insight, not by encouraging them to join a thinly veiled pyramid scheme.

You may see this as an attack, but it honestly isnt, I hope you see it how it is intended. I am saying to you, I believe in my heart you are so much better than all this, you have much more to give to the world than aloe and crappy 'business' mentoring.
You clearly have a talent, dont ignore it in the face of this bullshit, because when all is said and done Natasha, these bastards who pretend to be your friend will through you under the bus in a heartbeat if it means saving their own skin. And deep down you must know that.

Xxx

Throw...

stopfaffing · 19/05/2016 10:08

A great comment, Mrs.

BeckyMcDonald · 19/05/2016 10:11

Cracking piece in the Mail, and exactly the right demographic. Hats off to Antonia Hoyle. I'm pretty sure this thread has helped her along the way, so well done to everyone here for keeping up the pressure on MLMs.

Myusername2015 · 19/05/2016 10:50

It's interesting seeing the private forever Facebook sites about this daily mail story..keep seeing it being posted and then immediately deleted by the top bots! The word is it will discourage newbies who haven't signed up yet so clearly they think deleting any reference to it is best!

Delurker2016 · 19/05/2016 10:52

That's exactly what happened with The Times piece. All smoke and mirrors as always.

chesarasara · 19/05/2016 11:33

I'm so tempted to post an AIBU thread 'AIBU to actually agree with a Daily Mail article'. I'm actually quite traumatised that I'm appreciative of an article in that paper.

chesarasara · 19/05/2016 11:33

I'm also clearly overdosing on actually's!

Spongebobette · 19/05/2016 11:37

Wow it's certainly attracted a lot of comments!
I am playing spotthebot, they are easy to see as they trot out the usual guff (plus mentioning all the charideeee work of course)

Mrshumblepants · 19/05/2016 12:11

Its all the usual crap now! "Forever arent like this, its an isolated incident, they are a caring and generous company, not all mlms are equal" etc... Bollocks.

Perhaps unsurprisingly coming from certain bots who have themselves been directly/indirectly involved in intimidation methods, bullying and fakery. Classic!

Marmaladeday · 19/05/2016 12:14

This might be the first time I have ever agreed with the up and downvotes on a daily mail comments section. I need a lie down.

exLtEveDallas · 19/05/2016 12:40

Last night someone on the FMFOAB FB page posted to ask if anyone had any 'work from home' ideas.

Within 2 minutes there were about 15 "Can I PM you Hun" messages, and a few more that said "I work for Younique" "I own a FL business" "Jamberry selling"

Seriously they couldn't post fast enough.

I posted something like "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE all you people getting PMs take a look at the FB pages of Timeless Vie or BotWatch before you sign up to ANYTHING. 90% of these PMs will be for Pyramid Schemes/MLMs and you will NOT make any money - you will LOSE money"

I got an instant reply from one woman that said "Forever Living is not a Pyramid Scheme" and her comment was liked about 5 times. I posted "Yes it is, in fact it's one of the worst" and she replied "Well you don't know anything about it then". I managed one last comment "Is that right - what are you doing now your CCs have been reduced mate? How many more recruits do you need to make the same pennies?" Before the admins deleted the thread.

I would say that most of the people posting regularly on the FMFOAB page are struggling - that's why they are on there in the first place Angry These fucking people are preying on the weak to make a buck.

Makes me sick.

ForeverLivingMyArse · 19/05/2016 12:46

Sorry just jumping back in quickly. Does anyone follow Rebelfit on Facebook? Liam is going to town on juice peso. I can't figure out how to do it but it might be a good opportunity to share some tv love!

Cosmiccreepers203 · 19/05/2016 14:50

Here is the video I was talking about:
www.facebook.com/teamrhf/videos/962292223861175/
Hilarious but sweary. I love the comparison of top bots to witches.

Mrshumblepants · 19/05/2016 15:16

Is that the Richie Howey video?

He sadly, was quite dismissive of the timeless vie campaign when some members attempted to reach out to him...so I am a tad dubious where he is concerned, however he is raising awareness and has a large following so its all good I suppose.

It would be good if he could join us here and take part in the discussion of course, he may not have truly understood the purpose of timeless vie at that time, so I will hold my opinion until then 😉

Bovnydazzlers · 19/05/2016 15:26

Cracking piece amandahoyle

I'm presuming you're reading these threads? Please could you do your next article on the dodgy world of LTW before it sucks too many people in??

I'll be interested to know Forever's reaction to the article, it has not been a good year for Forever UK, I assume they will move to more vulnerable markets and Forever UK will not be 'no. 1' next year..
