Hello bot-watchers, I'm after a bit of reassurance that I'm not going mad and am not a horrible cynical person!
I have a MLM bot in my midst, of the Herbashite variety. She's a school mum, I've bitten my tongue from saying anything to her directly about it. Early on i wondered if I should 'warn' her but realised she was already in quite deep so it would fall on deaf ears. To be fair she appears quite good at it and is full of the joys of how wonderful her life is thanks to HL.

On the towns fb page there was a post about a free bootcamp by someone else, no catch etc. no mention of HL. I was curious so did some googling and it looked like it might be connected. I posted on their page just asking if it was linked to HL - that's literally all I put. My comment got taken down twice. I got a long personal message the gist of which was that yes it is connected but products won't be promoted people can just ask more if they want, that their only motive is for the good of the community, no hidden agenda etc and isn't it sad there are people like me who can't accept people just doing things out of the kindness of their hearts etc. I recognised that there was no merit in continuing the dialogue so have managed not to reply. This person doing the bootcamp and I are mutually friends on fb with 'my' HL bot and I think since then the bot has been blanking me. She also put on her fb a thing about who you're hanging out with and how you should be friends with people that make you feel energised and positive and don't bring you down.

I'm right aren't, I to feel annoyed about the bootcamp thing - they're clearly hoping to sell/recruit otherwise why would they pay out for the hall? And Why wouldn't the 'free' bootcamp person be more upfront about the HL link? Why would they take down my comment from their page if they've got nothing to hide?

I hate being thought ill of and I am feeling really horrible that these 2 women, one of whom I have to see on an almost daily basis probably think I'm cynical, negative, jealous of their success etc.

Other mums at school find it annoying too but no one else seems to feel as strongly as me about how awful and harmful these mlms can be. Starting to doubt myself a bit.

cozietoesie · 26/04/2016 09:19

I wouldn't be doubting yourself at all. Smile

WhiffyBiffer · 26/04/2016 09:27

I know. I think I just feel a bit on my own with it, I want to talk to friends but they know this bot too and I think they already think I'm a bit mad/negative for being so vehemently against it.
Another friend I thought felt the same as me has started going along to our bot's free weekly fitness session (where you can get a complimentary fitness assessment don't you know). She said she'd just decline anything but if she gets some exercise out if it that's all well and good. I just somehow feel it's condoning it.

Twoodle · 26/04/2016 09:33

Most people don't realise just how bad these MLMs are Whiffy. You are right to be cynical, don't doubt yourself.

smiinky · 26/04/2016 09:41

Whiffy, it might not be so bad, my friend and her bezzie did a free Herbalife boot camp, neither of them knew about mlm at the time. She says they weren't really prospected at the event, well not in a pressurizing way, so it was easy to just attend it, accept the free water bottle and then say no to the meeting to discuss the 'amazing opportunity,' that they were invited to. When I told her about timeless vie she scratched the Herbalife logo off her free water bottle.
What I don't like is when mlms try to conceal what they are, not mentioning the name of the business/sly prospecting scripts/scripts for cold prospects. That you have to be tricked into agreeing to be 'shown the business' tells you all you need to know. I mean, who has ever heard of being tricked into a normal job. Can you imagine if the job centre was run like an mlm?

cozietoesie · 26/04/2016 09:41

Have you ever been fishing, Whiffy? Wink

confusedbot · 26/04/2016 10:11

Ready for this.....as well as these comments one girl commented and said "I'm a doctor and I sell it" 😡

Seethelight if you search FGR16 you'll find the pic with the 11th person.
Top UK bot has it on her page too.

smiinky · 26/04/2016 10:34

Anyone think that these convos are a bit, 'my mother doesn't believe in fairies what can I do?'

RaeSkywalker · 26/04/2016 10:42

Brilliant confused!

I love the fact that selling a product through a legitimate retail channel would harm the "validation" of the product. Because buying a tube of gel in an online event. I find it really scary that this clearly flawed point of view is just being accepted and parroted without question.

I worked in healthcare marketing for a couple of years. I spent most of my time trying to get distribution of new brands in major retailers. My boss would've assumed I was on glue if I told him my new strategy was to increase the "validation" of the product by not distributing through legitimate, lucrative channels.

RaeSkywalker · 26/04/2016 10:43

The above should read "because buying a tube in an online event is far more credible".

Seenthelight21 · 26/04/2016 10:53

Found it Confusedbot 😂😂
How embarrassing!!!!!!!!

Talk about wanting to be in the limelight jeez!!!!!!

Getting a friend to photoshop it in hilarious !

Patzy85 · 26/04/2016 11:00

My parents would be so offended to be accused of being brainwashed! What absolute drivel they spout.
They will literally say anything to convince someone to stay.
The you are not alone comment, yes until you do/say/look/act/sneeze the wrong way then watch yourself be shunned quicker than the Latter Day Saints can say Warren Jeffs Rules!

Delurker2016 · 26/04/2016 11:31

I've just seen No.11 bot. I'm actually howling with laughter. Bless.
Why not just do the top 20?

Remember everyone, we don't do this for the recognition, we do it because we genuinely want to help people, but to show how much I care you best put me on that picture or I'll stamp my feet! Egos, egos everywhere.

Melaw21 · 26/04/2016 11:51

Just wanted to say, I have been "touching my bizness" sooo much lately, can anyone tell me when I can expect the money to start rolling in? Coz so far Ive gone through a lot of aloe gelly but I dont seem to be getting anywhere? Am I just being negative? Should I have a better mind set whilst Im touching my bizness? I have tried a pic of sexy rexy but it hasnt seemed to make any difference? 😩 Help!

Twunk · 26/04/2016 11:57

Have you been going through the aloe gelly or has it been going through you?

What is sexy rexy wearing in your picture? Might help if it was just a grimace smile

Melaw21 · 26/04/2016 11:59

Oh, and number 11 bot? Hilarious! 😂😂🙌🙌💗💗

Melaw21 · 26/04/2016 12:05

Kind of a bit of both twunk, on the plus side, its pushing up my personal cc's!

Trouble is its taking up an awful
Lot of my time and Im just not sure if Im touching it right? I may need a new sexy r pic, maybe one of him in a bathtub of cash wearing nothing but diamonds? Think that might help motivate my efforts...

Twunk · 26/04/2016 12:14

It would certainly work for me.

I find touching my bizness straight after drinking the gloop with a picture of SR right in front of my face gets the desired results

confusedbot · 26/04/2016 12:35

The last few comments are a little negative Huns. That's likely why all the touching isn't working. Prospects will sense your doubts. You need to fake it more until you make it ok?!

Have you wrote your WDYKL? Remember it's not a who do you think will join my business list. It's a FULL list of everyone you have every known. Have you used the memory joggers FROGS & STEAM?

I won't be meeting anyone until they have this list complete K? #gettowork
