It bears reading again, Norbert, uncomfortable though it may be.

gottaloveascamhun · 22/04/2016 21:29

I may be alone in this, but am getting increasingly irritated with the word 'professional' being bandied about. Im a professional, I went to university and got a postgraduate qualification to enable me to start a professional career. My husband has lots of letters after his name BSc MA ACA. He works for a car company and we both enjoy company cars amongst othr benefits. To red 'omg hunz blown away by the amazing professional training i've had tonite so many great #bossbabe living the dream' just pisses me off. Clearly recruitment is not the least bit selective so any old person can jump on the bandwagon irrespective of whether they have GCSE maths or not... probably better if they don't, less likely to understand the business plan :/

gottaloveascamhun · 22/04/2016 21:32

Rargh new phone not cooperating. Sorry for typos, I am educated innit

cozietoesie · 22/04/2016 21:32

See each individual word for what it is and let them wash over you. Smile

cozietoesie · 22/04/2016 21:34

PS - I exclude eg 'by' and 'the'. They're fairly unexceptionable.

Had a go at a meme thingy, featuring my favourite phrase from the last thread. For all the tireless keyboard warriors:

Stuart & rebecca got $157,741.19

Ok- so some people make nothing but that is a shit load of money- even after tax and paying for the faking it it took to get there.

Where does that kind of money come from as that is on top of their day to day earnings isn't it?

DollyTwat · 22/04/2016 23:20

Found you!

I have never worked out whether those chequers are for the team, they talk of having a share in it don't they? Does anyone know?

Twunk · 22/04/2016 23:34

Let's face it, nothing about MLMs is clear, frank and honest so we are left guessing what these giant cheques actually stand for.

cozietoesie · 22/04/2016 23:44

I agree, bear. I've always believed that a very small (very small) number of people can make $$$$ at the MLM game. Where does the money come from though and at what cost to others?

DollyTwat · 23/04/2016 00:50

The most top lady of LTW says she made £10k in 28 days. But looking at their compensation plan, you can only start to earn once you're active for 3 months, so that can't be true

Toobusytowee · 23/04/2016 01:58

Crickeyblimey, these all expenses trips are only a few days abroad for work events, product launches, hearing people's stories- like an extended success day. Some of the people get their air fare and accommodation paid and some get an allowance. But that is only the very small elite who have worked very hard to recruit loads and loads of people and make the company a lot of money.

Some of the people there will get a Chairman's bonus which is a share of a small amount of the company's profits. Something like 0.5% I think but not sure exactly. This is shared out among only a few thousand from the millions of bots around the world. Because the profits of the company are huge and the number of eligible bots is small, the cheques are impressive. But the odds of someone getting one are so slim that it is unlikely to be a realistic goal to aim for. You need to have bot celebrity status to get that sort of level of achievement.

NC. I am currently looking into MLMs operating in the Middle East (perfect target market - bored housewives, Asian workers trying to send some extra money home).

Recently I found two adverts saying that both Ph water (yes, thank you for the chemical burns from testing that one on my leg - Ph strips will be collected tomorrow to see what Ph it actually is) and Aloe wampum can cure AIDS and cancer.

Here's yet another new one: www.mineral-well.com/enghivdetox.html

KiteCutter · 23/04/2016 02:27

Lions if you Google "cutco" and "mlm" you will get your answer.

chuckingstones · 23/04/2016 07:04

Dollytwat you're right in that she wouldn't have got that through the residual income stream as you need to be active for 3 then 6 months to open up the levels. However the £10k would've come through her downline. I still find it pretty impossible though as to get regional director (where you get your £10k bonus) her team would've needed to do 34,400 points from what I've seen. She'd also have had to have built all the relevant people below her (team leaders, senior star distributors and so on). 34,400 points is over £56k of products (based on their numbers). That's using a maximum of 344 people in your downline (it could be less if you can convince them to buy more!).

So I can only think she came into LTW with a ready made downline, possibly pulled over from another MLM, either that or she knows some people who are willing to spend lots of their shopping! (I'm unclear whether you have to build the pyramid hierarchy to get the bonus).

Of course from what I've seen the compensation plan keeps changing so who knows what the rules were/are!

You all will know that I've always wondered who was 'assigned' the notional return from the various online shops - and on what basis - which require no personal effort at all as far as I can see. Smile I'll stand to be corrected on this one, of course, but there are certainly some most interesting individuals down officially as the relevant IBOs.

Who can tell, eh? Formulas always have a fairly generous 'wiggle clause' in my experience. And if you're a company with nobody to whom you really need to justify your actions........??Wink

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 23/04/2016 08:15

I think I remember someone (cubic perhaps??) on a previous thread saying that the giant cheque amounts are a total split between their team? More smoke and mirrors.

Mammamamy · 23/04/2016 08:30

I wonder what the odds are of getting those fl cheques based on everyone involved/recruited ... may as well spend the money on lottery tickets, stay at home with the children and still keep your friends and family.

cozietoesie · 23/04/2016 08:35

The Stratospheric Ones are so inculcated by that stage, though, that I doubt they care much about anything like that at all.
