So typical, they always change stuff like that after it gets mentioned here.... Hilarious!

cozietoesie · 25/04/2016 15:51

Look at what you didn't lose by walking, though. The debt is a PITA right enough but you'll pay it off. Other things you might not have got back at all.

darceybussell · 25/04/2016 15:54

Actually after someone on here asked 'do they share the bonuses with the team?' I did see some Facebook posts confirming that they do NOT share the bonus with the team. Thought that was a bit funny because while they were trying to make it look like it was a fabulous bonus cheque all for them they were essentially saying to the team 'I will not be getting anything for you with this money to say thank you - you peasants!'

Twunk · 25/04/2016 15:58

Yup Ray and the majority were the smaller cheques - the big money was to a very small few.

Tupperwarelid · 25/04/2016 16:04

After I'm impressed, I'll be doing mine way into my retirement the speed I'm going

Melaw Please don't report me, I got into enough trouble with the OU last year for trying to recruit when I should have been doing an exam. I didn't know recruitment was banned in the exam hall Grin

Melaw21 · 25/04/2016 16:10

Well, tupperware if you promise that the essay is all about how to succeed in mlm's then I will overlook it this time. 🙄 But your card is marked.

cozietoesie · 25/04/2016 16:10

I thought everything was banned in exam halls - pretty well? Smile

Toobusytowee · 25/04/2016 16:20

I just spoke to the documentary maker. She says she would be interested in speaking to people who have partners and close friends in an MLM.

Also, if anyone has left an MLM and would be willing to talk to her, that would be great as well. I think you would really be able to help her understand what goes on. PM me and I'll pass on her email address to you.

This issue really needs to be brought to the public's attention. Thanks.

Delurker2016 · 25/04/2016 16:36

In a way I almost feel sorry for them, but then I remember they brought it all on themselves and I stop.

What they don't realise is that all those lower level bots who do maybe 1-2-3ccs a month actually adds up to a lot. Say lots of these have gone to LTW, for example, 500 have gone, times 500 who choose LTW and not FLP that's 500/1000 maybe even 1500ccs they are losing, all because they couldn't deal with issues in the correct manner in the first place.

The I'm only working 2 years and then retiring isn't looking like it's going to happen is it.
Ever seen anyone in FLP who has actually retired? Not taken 2 years out and then come back? Nope. Me neither.

googlepoodle · 25/04/2016 16:45

How do the people at the high levels ever take a holiday? Two weeks out in any month would take a big chunk out the Cc's for the global rally etc. you would just have to always be working.

Delurker2016 · 25/04/2016 16:51

They don't.
They prospect on the plane.
They prospect at the resort.
They post in their team pages telling their followers how they've prospected absolutely everywhere because don't forget, everywhere and everyone is a prospecting opportunity.
One thing I could never do was contact marketing, I used to cringe.

Patzy85 · 25/04/2016 17:03

It is great to have you here delurker, confused and seenthelight. Thanks for sharing so much with us.

Can I ask about the mindset training - does everyone buy into it or do people get tired of it?

Did friends, family and partners support the business or have their doubts?

How long after starting the business did you have doubts yourself?

stopfaffing · 25/04/2016 17:07

Welcome delurker and seenthelight. Thank you for coming on here and talking to us about your experiences. We know it takes a lot of courage to open up about the awful reality of MLM company practices. They are so far removed from real employment and frankly such behaviours you have revealed would not be tolerated in the real business world.

The fact that they appear to be getting away with, for example, calling people on their alleged mental health issues, is damning.

I watched 'the video' of the three women unfurling their cheques this morning and have been thinking about it all day. It is uncomfortable to watch and I feel so sorry for the woman whose meagre cheque is so much of a shock to her. She is frozen with dawning horror, gripping the cheque tightly and trying to hold it together while her colleagues run around hugging each other (and her) obviously delighted with their much bigger cheques. Whether or not we agree with what she's doing to make money, no one deserves this humiliation. It is wrong on every level.

The downlines in this MLM company are told to replicate the system of work and never give up and they will be rewarded. She has done this to her best ability, she has played the game, she has even come on here to defend her MLM, and then, in a full public arena and posted on fb, her 'failure' is displayed for all to see. How much money has she spent to get to this level? Was it worth it?

What will she do now? Keep trying? Give up? God, what a mess Sad Angry.

googlepoodle · 25/04/2016 17:11

Where is the video?

n0taBotfan · 25/04/2016 17:12

I was exactly the same stop. My overriding feeling when I watched that vid was sorrow - I really felt for her. She almost wilted with disappointment and you can see her physically try to hold it together. Heart breaking really.

Especially when her upline a flaunting their half a mills...

confusedbot · 25/04/2016 17:17

Not everyone does the mindset training - I never did much and neither do my down line. One girl does but she's into reiki and meditation and all that anyway so that's kinda her thing.

My friends and family were supportive. I had a two people block me but I wasn't that friendly with them. I didn't spam my newsfeed with business things though so that might be why my family are supportive. Also I haven't said to any friends / family apart from my hubby about my doubts.

My doubts started after I reached manager suppose about 18 months into my business.

Delurker2016 · 25/04/2016 17:20

I will say one thing about mindset training, it did actually do me the world of good in the beginning, not for the business but for me personally, I was able to let go of a lot of things that had been troubling me, so in that respect it was great.

EVERYONE is expected to do mindset training. It's drummed into them.
When you wake up, before you do anything, mindset training.
The thing is a lot of mindset training is free on the Internet, but you end up paying to go, hotels to stay over etc. it's quite costly.

Delurker2016 · 25/04/2016 17:23

I will say I have had tremendous support from my friends and family, but I never spammed them, I didn't host launches or parties, I didn't turn up at their house for a coffee/prospecting. When I was with my friends I just wanted to be with them and not talk about forever, line I said before they had begun to get worries about me but waited until I said something first, then that weekend my best friend was sat in my house whilst I broke down in tears to her. I felt relieved to be able to tell someone.

confusedbot · 25/04/2016 17:25

It's interesting isn't it that its people coming forward that were/are managers in the business.
I thought when I got to manager I had "made it" what I didn't realise was that getting to manager wasn't the end it was just the beginning of an even harder road

Delurker2016 · 25/04/2016 17:37

Unfortunately it's once you hit Manager that the mask comes off.
All the support goes, the recognition, the contact, the friendships and then all of a sudden you aren't a good enough manager.
You aren't doing enough, you've got issues.
No one trains you to be a leader and it's hard, no matter what anyone says. That's when I think you need support the most as you develop.
I think you'll find there are hundreds more like us too afraid to say anything for fear of how they will be treated.

crumpetsfortea37 · 25/04/2016 17:38

Could someone send me a link to the 3 cheques video - thanks

cozietoesie · 25/04/2016 17:54

Thank you for asking, Toobusy. It's certainly a documentary that needs to be made. I'd use a long spoon to sup with them myself but that's just me. I'm sure that people contacting her will be appropriately canny.

Smile
smiinky · 25/04/2016 17:58

Theres nothing wrong with mindset training as such, I'm not surprised you gained from it, it's when it's used to bully people that's wrong. I read a blog post somewhere, I think the mindset trainer who wrote it explained that it should not be used as a reason to bully someone in a scheme like this where the stats are always that only 0.04% can ever make a profit.

Bostin · 25/04/2016 18:02

I'd like a link to the 3 cheques video please if possible?

A school friend of mine was one of the ones getting a mahoosive cheque the other day. I also know people further down the chain one of whom also had me almost but not quite tempted to join her team. She was recommending the products for some health issues I have and joining forever was a way of getting these cheaper.
Sury the bubble will burst at some point. How can they think it is right that so few get so much and the vast majority are slogging away for very little reward?

Patzy85 · 25/04/2016 18:03

Confused and delurker - did either of you hear the term 'fake it till you make it'? A certain top bot you have both mentioned said she had never heard the phrase.

What kind of training and advice were common place from your upline?

Did the success days involve any real training?
