throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 23:13

Haven't checked out this link but it comes from a very rel-eye-able source

"'Life Tree World' is yet another blame-the-victim 'MLM' cult, peddling essentially the same fairy story as all the others. "

"'LTW' seems to go after persons from Asian communities, but not exclusively."

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 23:17

The 60th level???

Which galaxy is that? (It's way past mere additional solar systems - to obtain the requisite number of people.)

throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 23:18

mm please please go away and think about this again

The money is basically being recycled isn't it....you have to have a continual churn of new people coming in and buying fuckloads of overpriced Rubicon in order to fund the "bonuses" of those near the top of the pyramid triangle.

The only ones doing well out of this will be the founders.

throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 23:20

What's not to trust about a "pioneer" who "literally (sic) can't contain my excitement" Grin

lastuseraccount123 · 11/04/2016 23:25

omg hun that is bootiful x

sniff.

throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 23:26

Bet you could knock out a "new and innovative" (albeit suspiciously pyramid shaped) business structure in a similar amount of time melaw Grin

gottaloveascamhun · 11/04/2016 23:28

Clearly I'm not as gullible as I thought. surely if you want to save money on your shopping you a) stop buying extras you don't need b) switch to own brand c) cut down on food waste d) meal plan e) use a cheap supermarket like a massive asda or lidl with lots of CHOICE. If I rang up a family member, say my mum, telling her this was my new business she would laugh me off the phone!

Melaw21 · 11/04/2016 23:29

Have any of you done the 'calico house, printworks lane' streetview yet? Very flashy location! 😉🤔

Melaw21 · 11/04/2016 23:30

Looks proper legit and that....

MinecraftyMum · 11/04/2016 23:30

Oh dear god that's one of the worst things I've ever watched.

Did he mention a 60th level? (I skipped through). The company pays commission down to level 10 - there is no 60th level!

Throwing pebbles - what good will thinking about it again do me? I've already joined. That ship has sailed even if I had second thoughts.

I disagree with only the founders doing well out of it. I haven't joined from the say so of a random on the internet. I joined after seeing the bank statements of the person who introduced me, and those of her upline (who I know slightly)- showing the money they have been paid. People I know. Having credits of £750 paid into their Barclays account - it's pretty hard to argue with that kind of evidence.

I appreciate you don't have to believe me obviously because to you I am just a random on the internet! Grin

Anyway, time will tell.

MinecraftyMum · 11/04/2016 23:32

Throwingpebbles - to Action Fraud.

MinecraftyMum · 11/04/2016 23:34

Unfortunately though, a quick read of Action Frauds website makes it pretty clear on what a pyramid scheme is - and LTW doesn't fit the description.

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 23:34

The trouble is that they don't, though, gotta.

I have this vision of countless Mums, Grannies, Aunties, Sisters etc etc with shelves and shelves of wampum which they've bought to help out 'poor, dear, Sadie' who ' hasn't been doing so well' but has this new 'idea'. Then Sadie thinks that this is all so easy and fulfilling...............

chuckingstones · 11/04/2016 23:34

I'm actually tempted to set up my own pyramid scheme highly reputable "online supermarket". I'll go and buy all the supermarket bogof deals and sell them back to everyone at RRP - but wait, I'll give you 3% cashback in the form of points which you can then redeem against future shops! Sign up your family and friends for this deal and for every sucker one of them you'll get an additional 1%! (You'll think you're getting a good deal and I'll be laughing all the way to the bank!).

Havent looked in detail as it is late but You are somewhat assuming the only category of fraud this could fall into is that of a narrowly defined pyramid scheme. Pretty sure there is a possibility there are other types of fraud going on here. And possibly other crimes too

cozietoesie · 11/04/2016 23:40

What good would rethinking do anyone in an MLM who was having second thoughts?

They would limit the damage to themselves and their friendship and family circle.

It wouldn't be pleasant accepting a financial hit but they would be able to sleep better I think. You don't justify staying somewhere that is harming you or others by the amount of time you've been there, I reckon.

MinecraftyMum · 11/04/2016 23:41

Like what throwing? I'm intrigued.

throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 23:41

What good would it do?!

  • stop you throwing your own money at overpriced products you didn't really want anyway???
  • stop you encouraging others to do the same??
throwingpebbles · 11/04/2016 23:43

Well for starters...if you induce anyone to part with their money by making false or knowingly misleading statements then that is the criminal offence of fraud Smile
