Oh is that the LTW thing on it? Life tree? Are you in the group I'm in 'discussing' it? Grin Blush

DayToDayGlobalShit · 27/03/2016 22:07

Not another one? Not seen it yet, but will keep an eye out as it will only be a matter of time before it is on my feed with all the other shit. Grin

Recent article on the Trump MLM (23/3/16 Washington post. not sure if it has been posted)

www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/03/23/the-trump-network-sought-to-make-people-rich-but-left-behind-disappointment/

"Ideal Health’s flagship product — later the Trump Network’s — was a multivitamin, tailored for customers based on a urine test. It cost $139.95, plus $69.95 a month for the vitamins, plus $99.95 for additional testing every six months"

"As is common with the [network marketing] model, Trump Network sales representatives made money when they sold products, and when salespeople working under them made purchases. They weren’t employees, so they weren’t guaranteed a salary. And because salespeople paid upfront for products each month, they bore a lot of the risk"

throwingpebbles · 27/03/2016 22:17

What group?

No, just saw it advertised on Facebook.... Looks worse value for money than tesco points! Maybe I could call shopping at tescos my business Grin

DayToDayGlobalShit · 27/03/2016 22:26

LOL throwing

throwingpebbles · 27/03/2016 22:31

Ugh. Loads of net mums being sucked in to life tree life tree discussion on nethuns

DayToDayGlobalShit · 27/03/2016 22:57

just looked at your link throwing. Utter shit, yet know doubt people will be suckered in.

throwingpebbles · 27/03/2016 23:00

Yeah think chucking worked out you would need to have about 700 people in your downline to make £1660 a month (before tax!) and you have to keep spending your own money as well of course......

LMGTFY · 27/03/2016 23:02

Every time a thread on here makes me cross over to darkside (oh no, that's us, I mean the glittery side huns) my brain starts to hurt from translating stupid speak. Wish I'd thought of that one, pay me 30% more for your shopping and I'll give you some imaginary points! There's cultic mlms then there's just taking the piss out of people!

RoseDeWittBukater · 27/03/2016 23:07

As suspected, what a load of shit. I fucking hate what this bollocks does to people. Angry

throwingpebbles · 27/03/2016 23:08

LMGTFY Grin it is almost like a parody of an MLM...

chuckingstones · 27/03/2016 23:11

I'll just leave this here for you to laugh/cry/groan at... www.lifetreeworldrecruitment.com/opportunity/

chuckingstones · 27/03/2016 23:21

LMGTFY You're just not thinking outside of the box! Just think of it as "cashback" on your shopping! Obviously said cashback is on full price items (no bogofs to be had here), so is in actual fact worse than if you used a cashback credit card together with something like a clubcard or nectar card. Of course you also have go buy a certain amount of shopping every 90 days to stay "active", and if you want to earn more than. £2 a month you have to convince everyone else to pay £35 to join (as throwing says over 700 people if you want to make a half decent wage. Tell you what, I think I'll start my own one, I'll buy all the bargains from Tesco and sell them on at full price! Grin

stopfaffing · 27/03/2016 23:24

throwing have posted a link to the Lifetree terms and conditions for "Rebecca" that shows procedure for cancellation within 14 days.

Thank you stop ! I can't remember my password or I would be joining the conversation there too!

LeanneBattersby · 27/03/2016 23:42

Christ I just had a browse through Lifetree's website. What a load of utter, utter bollocks. It's worse than FL for the hollow promises. They're offering a £500k house if you get up to super duper diamond level. I'm guessing nobody has actually got the house yet.

thatoneindoors · 28/03/2016 00:02

Bit of a lurker, but finally joined. Have FL Bots in our friends circle. We've lost them but found MN a saviour in thinking what we already know. This was on twitter the other day - god it made me giggle. Enjoy!

Toobusytowee · 28/03/2016 00:07

I've done some maths for LTW. If you were lucky enough for 88,573 people to sign up to the scheme under you, you would earn £44,000 ish a month. You would be at the top of a pyramid or downline. But for those people on layer 10 (59,049 of them) to have pyramids of their own of 10 layers so they can earn that much, there would have to be 1,743,392,200 in the whole pyramid with you at the top. Considering this scheme is just in Britain, that doesn't seem very likely to me.

Therefore, those projections of income are not achievable. Of course, we knew that, but I really felt like doing some sums tonight.

cozietoesie · 28/03/2016 00:09

Welcome, thatone. Smile

Watch the names in anything you post though. That might be one to ask MNHQ to remove and repost with names scrubbed out.

Toobusytowee · 28/03/2016 00:10

Welcome Thatoneindoors. That screengrab is really funny!

Sorry you've lost people to FL, unfortunately it is quite common.

cozietoesie · 28/03/2016 00:11

You're a masochist, Toobusy. Grin

It's breathtakingly awful though.

thatoneindoors · 28/03/2016 00:23

Thanks cozietoesie. That post is publicly available on Twitter, so I didn't think I would be breaking any rules. If I have, no problem in it being removed.

Yes, unfortunately good friendships have been eroded by friends who clearly know the scheme is wrong. It's gone from selling to being in "business". If only.

Both have good public sector jobs, just like their partners, but it's clearly about earning money to spend on what they believe is their right to have the high life. But it means ripping people off at any cost to fund their lifestyles. At least it's shown their true colours.

Twunk · 28/03/2016 00:35

WOW! I can earn £44k a month? WHERE do I sign up?

Toobusytowee · 28/03/2016 01:06

For the benefit of newcomers, here is a rundown of why has happened in these threads-

A few people were bemused at their friends' strange personality changes when they joined MLMs.
Eyespying told us they were tragicomic, thought stopping cultic racketeers.
We told him to go away, he was clearly obsessed, and can he go to his own serious thread?
We delved a bit deeper into the issues.
Eyes started creeping back. We told him he was too serious.
We became more horrified at the information being turned up and were sharing links.
Eyes told us about Merchants of Deception.
Timeless Vie was set up as a parody about MLMs. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube were all used.
People started coming forward, telling of their experiences in MLMs.
We became more horrified.
Bot Watch started on Facebook where links were put up of interest to do with MLMs.
MLM members (bots) waded in saying it was all ok. You can earn great money. You just have to work 19 hours a day and not worry about morals.
Bots complained about their names being used. Their lawyers complained to MNHQ so that MN now do not allow us to use bots' names or show screengrabs of their writings even if it is in the public domain.
Blogs and FB posts increased, with the increasing amount of facts and whistleblowers coming forward.
FL lawyer tried to get TV YouTube video banned.
Health claims from FL bots now reducing dramatically as a result of pestering from all of us.
We stopped telling Eyes he was too serious. We all started thinking in his language and realised he was right.
Eyes turned out to be very funny and entertained us all.
Sunday Times article produced exposing FL. With a little help from people here.
Lawyers still perusing trying to ban TV's videos.

I've probably missed out loads, but those were the highlights for me.
