giles And you have to pay to attend the train sessions and get the materials etc?"

Amway tools scam first exposed in 1995(!)

www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Amway/AUS/tools.htm

It hasn't changed. FL SuccessDays look great on youtube, and if uninformed you'd think "wow successful co, they can host a party like this!" But what you're not told is the cheering delegates paid £30 per head... That's full ticket prices to a rock concert,. If you get 1000 delegates thats £30k gross profit. In the amway heyday they had quarterly huge events with 10k delegates paying $300 each... Listen to the tapes ($6 each, 2 per week) and they all stress the importance of being "core" and attending all functions. The following is a good example, though long (2.5hpurs long and the hard sell is 2hrs in :)

Great, thank you.

The whole love-bombing is really telling in terms of the cultist behaviours that are demonstrated, to suck people in.

Which makes me even more fucked off when bots like Natasha come along with their little piss-taking crying with laughter emojis, telling us that we are being very unreasonable not to believe them. Yeah you made £4K that month - what was your net take home after expenses incurred and tax? I have a well-paid job - I work hard and am remunerated for it. The difference is that I have employee rights, sick pay and a pension scheme to show for it as well.

ForeverLivingMyArse · 25/03/2016 18:34

Just an observation. My local authority allows council home tenants to sublet their property out for 12 months (at rent cost, not for profit) after which you can give up your tenancy or move back in.

I doubt they are unique.

JolseBaby Numerous 'Amway Diamonds' have been core-adherents of the 'Assemblies of God,' and/or an organization known as the 'Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International (FGBMFI).'

In the past, the 'Amway' racket fished many of its American victims from within the many congregations of the 'Assemblies of God' and other 'neopentacostalist/dominionist' churches, where 'Multi-Level Marketing' was openly sold as an 'entirely-ethical Christian Business Opportunity' by members of the 'FGBMFI.' Indeed, many 'Amway' victims were already conditioned to defer unconditionally to the imaginary moral and intellectual authority of their Ministers. As such, in its original American version, 'Amway/MLM' can be described as a 'neopentacostalist/dominionist affinity' fraud, perfectly-tailored to fit the existing 'Prosperity Gospel' beliefs of its economically-aspiring, mostly-white, male, Protestant victims.

The DeVos clan, has been one of the most-important financial backers of 'dominionism' in the USA. This extensive transfer of stolen money has been largely-conducted through the 'Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation' and the 'Dick and Betsy DeVos Foundation.'

Betsy DeVos is the sister of 'fundamentalist Christian' and 'dominionist,' Erik Prince, the instigator of 'Blackwater.'

As well as the Ministry of televangelist, Luis Palau, 'Dominionist' groups listed as being in receipt of 'Amway' cash include:

  • The Coalition for National Policy
  • Focus on the Family
  • Traditional Values Coalition
  • Foundation for Traditional Values
  • Campus Crusade for Christ
  • Prison Fellowship Ministries
  • Gospel Communications
  • Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services (a 'dominionist'-run 'mental health' facility)
- Ave Maria School of Law (a dominionist law school)
  • Coral Ridge Ministries

In 2005, it was reported that 'DeVos Foundations' had officially given more than $5 millions to 'dominionist' groups.

'Amway Diamond,' Dexter Yager, has been another important contributor of stolen cash to 'dominionist' organizations.

'Assemblies of God Amway Diamonds' have included, Pastor Doug Wead, who at one time was a White House adviser to President George Bush. Wead is credited with teaching Bush how to identify with 'dominionist' voters and with introducing Bush to 'dominionist' leaders.

It is interesting to note that US-based 'dominionist' groups have been in receipt of cash stolen from all around the globe. So-called 'MLM direct selling' companies have also been used as Trojan Horses to recruit non-Americans into the 'Assemblies of God.' Doug Wead has been a long-time associate of former 'Amway Diamond' Jean (or John) Godzich and his brother, 'Assemblies of God Pastor,' Leo Mark Godzich.

I have seen in the last few months quite a few vulnerable people being recruited to FL. They seem to be the worst out of all of them for not caring who they are recruiting just that they want the CC's

Twunk · 25/03/2016 18:54

Dolly sorry hadn't seen those! Wow.

In what way does aloe "look after your gut"?

Seriously I'm considering making everyone read Bad Science.

cozietoesie · 25/03/2016 18:55

Joise

There are some people who make money. A very few.

You just have to ask yourself eg

Who were they?
Where did it come from?
How many people joined and lost the farm?

That's the great sadness of it - and the moral vacuum.

Twunk · 25/03/2016 18:56

Motorheadmum - there's no-one to stop people recruiting the vulnerable except the ethics of the bot. I suspect that cannot be relied upon.

DollyTwat · 25/03/2016 18:58

The bot who posted those, and loads more just as blatant, argued with me she was allowed to post it!
I sent her the relevant pages of FL handbook!

cozietoesie · 25/03/2016 18:59

Actually, thinking about it, it's more like a moral and ethical 'black hole'. Everything is sucked into it. (I suppose you could add reason to that mix as well?)

Guilty confession: I haven't read the thread except the start and end, so feel free to tell me to fuck off and do so Grin

I have been lucky enough not to have any friends get sucked into MLM yet ... Until now. Just seen someone who used to be a very close friend (we've drifted apart but she's basically lovely) announce her FL "business launch".

My question: is it too late to warn her what she's getting into? Am I just going to piss on her parade and need to let her find out in her own time how shit MLMs are for actually making money? (I've skim read enough to see the recent posts about the religious angle, but I'm hoping to come at this more from a "you cannot make money like this" tack).

As we're no longer close I don't mind if she hates me for it. But I would want it to be worthwhile!

Twunk · 25/03/2016 19:18

Oh Cubic it just shows how well the brainwashing works!

Twunk · 25/03/2016 19:20

Giraffes it's really hard. They are conditioned to reject concern as negativity and jealousy. You can only try and hope her experience is short. Eyes tells us most give up pretty quickly.

Twunk · 25/03/2016 19:22

And welcome! Even bots aren't told to fuck off (well not initially anyway)

cozietoesie · 25/03/2016 19:44

Was there anything that could have halted you, Cubic?

JolseBaby · 25/03/2016 19:48

I think Cubic is right. If you dive straight in then the chances are you'll be behaving as they have been warned:

Aww hun, I warned you that people might be jealous. They aren't willing to take risks themselves so instead of supporting you they are trying to be negative. You need to show them that you are a #BossBabe and that you'll keep going no matter what they say.

N.B. Not just satire - I have actually seen words to that effect on someone's status.

cozietoesie · 25/03/2016 19:54

So if someone might be feeling it's them against the world, you could actually be reinforcing that by attempting to intervene?

Twunk · 25/03/2016 19:57

This is the issue - if you are told to expect the negativity and then it happens...it's reinforcing isn't it?

We've seen how deluded the bots can be

JolseBaby · 25/03/2016 19:57

Yes, I think that's it, in a nutshell.

It's a form of conditioning - essentially brainwashing.

cozietoesie · 25/03/2016 20:02

And if people on this and other threads can be perplexed about how to address a situation with eg a friend or acquaintance - and we know what's being done in this process - then how much worse off is some poor soul who is actually in that situation?
