They deserve it also. They're doing a wonderful job. Smile

shadowplay No need to apologise, although that was very gracious of you. Part of what I wrote years back, actually predicted your initial, not-unreasonable reaction. I freely accept that the full truth about the 'MLM' phenomenon is unthinkable to the average person and that, consequently, I risk being branded a 'conspiracy theorist' for trying to expose the full truth. That is how the 'MLM' phenomenon has survived and infected the globe.

I initially had virtually the same reaction as you to me, when certain insightful friends said 'Amway' was a brainwashing cult just like 'Scientology.' Even though I had witnessed sudden radical 'Ambot' personality transformations in my own family. By the time I confronted reality and started to search for the full explanation of what was going on, it was too late to stop the destruction of my family.

Call me optimistic, but after I couldn't do anything about my family, I took the decision to challenge the entire 'MLM' lie. I reasoned that if I could quickly work out how the trick was pulled, then anyone could, but it didn't turn out like that. The more I was ignored: the more determined I became and the more comprehensive, and clearer, my explanation became.

Apologies if already been said but...

"You'll never see an mlm win on dragons Den" had a nice ring for a meme. In little writing : "because it's not a valid business."

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 22:18

A number of months ago, I was watching a movie called - if I recall correctly - 'She' about a man who acquires an intelligent operating system. (This is, I think, relevant so be patient.)

In the course of that movie, the principal actor is strolling distractedly through a glorious shopping mall type place with lights recessed into the floor. Gleaming it was. And all I could think of was 'Who replaces the light bulbs?'

Which goes some way to showing how my mind works - but all of these MLM schemes, including the people in them seem to gleam - but there's no reality, no-one changing the light bulbs, no-one mowing the palatial lawns, no selfies of tinfoil layered roots, no..................In fact, I haven't yet seen one distributor that I would trust to hold the end of a rope while I was climbing and know that they were genuinely thinking about that thing and that alone.

I guess I would need some heavy mindset training, eh? Grin

ForeverLivingMyArse · 21/03/2016 22:30

Does anyone have a YouTube link to Penn and Teller? The one posted before wouldn't play for me.

Toobusytowee · 21/03/2016 22:55

Does this link work for you ForeverLiving MyArse? mlmrehab.com/easy-money/

I have put the Lyoness link on BotWatch FB page. Like Throwing says, please feel free to suggest links that I can put there that might be of interest. And yes, Bot Watch can be busy. Sometimes I get 50 messages a day there! I am keeping an eye here though. It can get a bit quick fast sometimes and I am bound to miss bits.

I have set up a Bot Watch email address so people can contact me there with ideas. Send me stuff if you want. Ideas for blog posts, links of interest, guest articles etc etc.

Maybe let me know if you have any skills you can offer the cause. It might be handy to know who can do a good meme, who can do poetry, who has access to research articles, whatever you think might be useful. Perhaps you have links to industries where your knowledge might be useful, drop me a line.

The email address is [email protected].

ForeverLivingMyArse · 21/03/2016 22:59

No Sad

That's the one I tried before and have tried searching. I do eceryin my tablet, might have to dust if the lappy tomorrow when I get some peace!

Thanks anyway hun. Wink

Try this one www.sho.com/sho/video/titles/11307/easy-money

RortyCrankle · 21/03/2016 23:23

Fascinating thread - I nearly got sucked into an MLM once but common sense prevailed.

I'm puzzled about something. Having glanced at Natasha's website, it proudly boasts :

"Forever Living Products is a multi-level marketing company that spans the globe with over 8.5 million distributors, operating in over 145 countries and generating more than 2 billion dollars in sales annually."

Unless my maths is way off that equates to just over 235 dollars sales per person. Hardly life changing is it? I'm also betting that 99% of it goes to those sitting on top of the pyramid, leaving sparse crumbs for the poor bots at the bottom.

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 23:29

I'll take your word for it on the math, Rorty - never my strong point - but, as you said, you applied common sense. And I guess you still are. Smile

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 23:30

That video is great, Toobusy. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Toobusytowee · 21/03/2016 23:31

That's right RortyCrankle. And for every person that claims to be earning a good amount of money, there has to be a load of people who are making a loss.

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 23:33

Some of whom have posted, bravely, on Timeless Vie.

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 23:34

And if you could post a link to that also, Toobusy? Smile

Toobusytowee · 22/03/2016 00:00

OK, here's some links for people who might have missed them-

Wow. Thanks Toobusy. Smile

(And I'm sure Eye will forgive you for only omitting the link to his blog.

Eventually. Grin)

cozietoesie · 22/03/2016 00:15

Ah Yes. I'd almost forgotten that so shame on me! Smile

Toobusytowee · 22/03/2016 00:17

Sorry Eyes, I didn't notice that link wasn't correct. Here it is...

Toobusytowee · 22/03/2016 00:22

How to spot a pyramid scheme-

cozietoesie · 22/03/2016 00:25

Thanks. Smile

There are some interesting options on the vertical right hand bar there as well.

Toobusytowee · 22/03/2016 00:27

One more link now. This one is depressing as it is a short film showing clips of victims describing what they lost when they got involved with the MLM called Herbalife.

stopfaffing · 22/03/2016 06:45

I have been trying to upload a link to another failed MLM that pitched on the US Dragon's Den; Bucket List. It was car crash TV gold. Sadly it is now copyrighted by Sony and won 't play in this country any more (was it something I said? Wink).

toobusy that how to spot a pyramid scheme video is excellent

penny1ane · 22/03/2016 07:12

I would love to hear the opinion from someone in mlm on the 'how to spot a pyramid scheme' video.
I would like to know if they feel there company is different and why.
