Thanks for that. A great post. Smile

worcestersauce29 · 21/03/2016 18:19

Brilliant, thanks anon :)

clarella · 21/03/2016 18:20

Sorry Ive not been on much recently and apologies if you guys already know about this - there's a thread in allergies in health at the mo about allergies to aloe Vera. Thought it might be helpful.

BSintolerant · 21/03/2016 18:29

Excellent guest post on TV.

I love the Lord's Prayer and the Ten Commandments. Grin

Eyes - what happens when you say that particular version of The Lord's Prayer backwards? Are we in danger of conjuring a vision of Sexy Rexy in his magical undercrackers doing the Hokey Cokey with the Parslai Princess whilst a chorus line of high-kicking bots wheel their plastic yellow cases across the stage?😈😂

Motorheadmum · 21/03/2016 18:33

That is an amazing guest post on TV. This is exactly what people who are targeted by MLM's need to see and read

CubicZirconiaBossyBabe Don't worry , the 'Lyoness' car crash video was saved by the friend of a friend of mine, and put on Vimeo.

The 'Lyoness' presentation begins at approximately 25 minutes.

In 'Lyoness,' the 'cash card' is only the bait, but once inside the cult, pressure is applied to buy what are known as 'positions' at 5000 Euros a pop. You then have to find others to buy 'positions,' who then find others, etc. ad infinitum. 'Positions' comprise blocks of gift vouchers to shop at all sorts of stores. So victims are actually investing in a form of money. In theory, the more 'positions' you buy, or peddle, the higher you climb in the 'Lyoness' pyramid and the more money you earn. In reality, effectively no participant can make money and the racket depends on hiding the results and recruiting more and more transient victims.

Classically, the real money is made in 'Lyoness' by peddling the step-by-step secrets of how to become a success. This racket has been controlled by just a handful of bosses and they appear to have acquired political protection in their native Austria.

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 19:32

I couldn't watch it all the way through. It was too sad.

cozietoesie 'Lyoness' (corruption of 'Lyonesse' - the legendary land where King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table are supposed to wait) is fucking frightening.

I think it might be the 'Lyoness' Pagan triquetra symbol, the 'L' hand salutes, the black an white uniforms, flags and the Germanic accents.

The Boss of 'Lyoness,' Hubert Freidl, is also known as 'Fuhrer (leader).'

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 19:55

I guessed some of it. I'm still deeply saddened by the whole thing though.

Eyespying · 21/03/2016 20:02

Following the classic hiding in plain sight tactic, 'Lyoness' bosses have handed millions of stolen Euros to the European Golf Tour (based in the UK) to sponsor the 'Austrian Golf Open.'

Officials at the 'European Golf Tour' were sent detailed information about the 'Lyoness' racket, but they then refused to make any comment whatsover.

Nancery · 21/03/2016 20:43

Im sorry but I have not read the previous posts from today so this may have been covered already. I am usually a lurker rather than a poster (and find this thread both cathartic and hilarious).
Someone I know flogs Younique and apparently one of the 'Y Sisters' is seriously ill. My Younique bot is now trying to rally her 'followers' on Facebook to 'pray for her' and taking about how Y Sisters support each other in their hour of need. Its absolutely bizarre. (Even more bizarre is a woman who uses the hashtag to also do a quick promotion of bronzer at the same time as 'showing her support.')

I've got a new bot in my feed.
'Scentsy' , have googled is another MLM flogging candles and home fragrance.
Someone please put a stop to this nonsense.

worcestersauce29 · 21/03/2016 20:54

timeless is now on my cmdv

Kanga59 · 21/03/2016 21:16

The Lyoness Dragons Den pitch is GOLD!!

I do believe that one of the first things I ever said on this thread, well it was probs about thread 2, was that we should make a video pitching this to Dragons Den.

someone's gotta clip this vid and get it on TV and BW, it's absolutely ace. Its basically stupid dumbass blind MLMer vs ACTUAL business people, with like you know, brains cells and even common sense.

It took those dragons about 2 minutes to get to pyramid scheme. IF YOUR FINANCIAL SUCCESS IS BOUND BY HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU SIGN UP TO THE SAME BUSINESS, THEN IT'S NOT A BUSINESS. IT'S A FUCKING PYRAMID RIP-OFF

shadowplay · 21/03/2016 21:18

Nancery - that is shocking.

When I first started looking into mlms and reading these threads, I did so thinking that fl and all the others were scammy businesses that conned foolish people, but thought (and I apologise for this Eyes) that Eyes' assertion that there was this big international criminal cultish conspiracy underpinning it all was a bit OTT, but the more I see and hear about these practices the more obvious it becomes.

There can be no other explanation for the sort of behaviour you've pointed out Nancery, other than these people are so far detached from reality, so deeply immersed in this cult that they think publicly using a friend's illness to flog products is acceptable.

It's frightening.

cozietoesie · 21/03/2016 21:19

OK - I give in. What's a 'cmdv'? Grin

It's probably obvious but I'm having a rough evening. Wink

DollyTwat · 21/03/2016 21:30

Could Whoever starts the next thread put a link to the Penn and Teller one and that one in the intro - maybe just the MLM bit though. I don't have the software to cut the video down.

I felt for the poor sweaty man, he was so convinced they'd go for it

throwingpebbles · 21/03/2016 21:43

great idea kanga ! have suggested it to Timeless. anytime anyone has a suggestion / link etc feel free to pm TV or Bot Watch as well! think they are so busy with their bits and all the pms they get that they haven't got as much time to fit mumsnet in as well at the moment, but they definitely welcome all support and input Smile
