Penny - I would too, however, I have a feeling that the days of mlm members popping up on these threads are over.

As every day goes by, the evidence on these scams becomes more and more overwhelming. I suspect our usual mlm posters are either (hopefully) coming to their senses and planning an exit strategy or (more likely - unfortunately) climbing down into the safety of the mlm bunker with their fellow distributors.

Just took a screen shot of the video posted by toobusy above - checklist for a pyramid scheme

I get your point eyes but I guess its good to see a variety of different methods and approaches, provided they are having an impact? Ackman is motivated by his short-selling ploy, but it is having a huge impact and casting a much closer eye on these schemes. As you say, he is likely to be boxed in by the parameters set by his backers in any event.

Its good to have people like you who shine a light on exactly what is happening here. but I guess it is also beneficial to have other people chipping away at the pervasiveness of these scams.

it would be good to find a journalist / documentary maker who was brave enough to do what you have done and shine a light on how all the scams have the same basic tricks at their heart, and at what is really going on behind all of them

Glad to hear you think those 'particular' visitors might have left us for good now shadow, I do hope you are correct. If so, I will gladly return to engage with the conversation as I believe they were adding nothing but a deliberate distraction to the message.

Also, I just want to take a moment to mention that my thoughts are with all of those caught up in todays attacks in brussels.

Melaw2 Good to see you back. The news from Belgium makes me feel sick, and the reported casualty figures are rising all the time. Whoever has committed this heinous crime will have been controlled by what is essentially a non-rational, comic-book story of 'good vs evil.'

throwingpebbles · 22/03/2016 10:00

Yes total agree melaw , my thoughts are with everyone caught up in it in anyway Flowers

Twunk · 22/03/2016 10:01

It's awful awful news.

Will pm the pic throwing

Interesting also the bit where it says the "soft sell" is "making a bit extra to pay the bills". I think with women (and maybe this is a cultural UK thing) this often works well. I've certainly seen this "non-threatening" approach work well.

Good to see you back Melaw Smile

Someone posted links ages ago for a sitcom episode where a character gets involved with an MLM selling water filters. It was really funny. I can't remember what it is called now. Does anyone remember? We could put that link up again.

cozietoesie · 22/03/2016 10:36

I recall that - in fact I can visualise it - but I can't remember the precise sitcom either.

Eyespying · 22/03/2016 10:59

Toobusytowee

The 'MLM' sitcom clip is in this compilation at approximately 3 minutes 50 seconds.

Patzy85 · 22/03/2016 11:12

I was looking for the Kings of Queens episode but I see it is covered in eyes thing. However it linked to this. WTF!

This absolutely sums up network marketing.

Even in bot speak!

Ps check out who it classes as credible! GrinGrinGrin

Toobusytowee · 22/03/2016 11:25

Yes, that's the programme eyes. I'll try and find the whole episode, it was funny. Here's that Thermomix YouTube video with the funny Australian women. Thermomix is an MLM product.

I've seen that before Patzy. That's the sort of argument that bots use and people fall for. It's all so silly and illogical.

LMGTFY · 22/03/2016 11:52

Have all the question dodgers gone? That was a boring interlude!

Twunk · 22/03/2016 11:53

Well you never know when they'll strike again...

kamchatka23 · 22/03/2016 12:42

Just don't mention them by name. It's like saying 'Voldernort' - but with aloe-eaters instead of Death-eaters!

throwingpebbles · 22/03/2016 12:44

Hello melaw I have been missing u on Twitter xo Grin

cozietoesie · 22/03/2016 12:48
