Twunk - thank you for your measured and thoughtful response, my question was not posed to disrupt - only to rebutt some of the claims previously posted on here in relation to MLM's in Africa. I share the same views as you on this topic - and felt it was not something we needed to bring up here on this forum as it does not bear any relevance in reality.

The MLMs have generally stopped producing figures. (And certainly not in any way which can be readily understood.)

Eyespying · 18/03/2016 09:03

' does did not bear any relevance in reality.'

Talk about writing your own epitaph.

The actions of MLMs everywhere is relevant on these threads. In some countries it's even more abhorrent than others
I'm even more interested now that it's clear it's a touchy subject

Melaw21 A perfect analysis of the situation.

DollyTwat · 18/03/2016 09:19

Just in case anyone missed the link that Eyes put earlier

pyramidschemealert.org/study-of-ten-major-mlms-and-amwayquixtar/

It's too long to cut and paste, but it explains very clearly what's being said

Well said melaw
100% with you

'Talk about writing your own epitaph'

Eyes, that was just brilliant.

cozietoesie · 18/03/2016 09:25

Thank you, Dolly.

(That was the link I referred to in an earlier post - and one which bears regular posting for people joining the thread I think.)

Eyespying · 18/03/2016 09:26

penny1ane Thanks, but it was a bit of an open goal.

Motorheadmum · 18/03/2016 09:31

melaw hope you are ok

DollyTwat · 18/03/2016 09:31

And to add to the loss of money they can ill afford to lose, this is very worrying:

Ugandans are losing billions of shillings in the food supplements network marketing business, according to investigations. Though the dietary supplements supplied by the various network firms were recently approved by the National Drug Authority (NDA), the public has been warned against substituting the products for drugs. “NDA has received numerous complaints that patients and caretakers are being misled by marketers of food and dietary supplements that their products can treat diseases,”

Melaw That needed to be said.

And my position is still that mlm bots are essentially de facto slaves in an exploitative operation. Mlm's like FL depend upon the unpaid/free/slave labour of its 'ever hopeful', misled adherents.

Do you think he would come on this thread Eyes?

pootlepootle · 18/03/2016 09:45

Honestly natasha, if you've got the people skills and tenacity to carry this charade on for approaching two years, why not just start a proper business. The effect of your self esteem will be far more than all this smoke and mirror twaddle.

Pm me. Did a mlm, left started own business. Now properly feed my family, no bullshit. You could do this.

pootlepootle · 18/03/2016 09:48

Ah shit, that sounds like a recruitment. It was an advert for resigning from mlm and starting afresh with your own hard work, and restoring your self esteem.

Think I should just stay lurking.........

Twunk · 18/03/2016 09:52

Oh he appears on the Penn and Teller film Eyes!

BSintolerant · 18/03/2016 09:58

Throwing the Forever Fibbing video is brilliant.

Why do these people even bother telling lies when the truth always comes out in the end?

Eyespying · 18/03/2016 10:00

DollyTwat Robert has never participated in forums like this, because of the presence of distracting characters like WWC. I've kept Robert, and his associates, fully-informed about these threads. In the past, I have rarely particpated in forums, because my thoughts have been somewhat unthinkable/unacceptable to most casual observers, like admistrators. These threads have been significantly different. For a start (with some notable exceptions) most MN members are British/Irish. Furthermore, they have seen the nightmare results of 'MLM' cults first-hand and they are full of good humor and common-sense. What I have had to say, has confirmed what MN members already suspected, but perhaps couldn't immediately put into accurate terms.

Penn and Teller video. I have to say I feel sad for the bots/victims of the MLMs but it really does demonstrate how unpleasant the industry is.
