Eye Whoever it is, they definitely have a vested interest in thwarting these threads and its laughable that she/he declares you know nothing about mormonism, when you appear to have researched it in depth....but then again if the person is a mormon, they would be the better authority on it, i guess lol

Motorheadmum · 18/03/2016 06:57

Morning! I missed a lot last night! I do think Natasha engages well with us all and has in my eyes come over as a nice person who has a sense of humour.

Not quite sure on the other FL person.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 18/03/2016 07:02

It's all a bit "I'm alright Jack" though isn't it?

'Well I'm making squillions and anyone who isn't just isn't working hard enough look how hard I work'

Same old same old yeah?

stopfaffing · 18/03/2016 07:06

Copied this from another forum about MLM, this one FL.

Here's another one. Remember that this is why we began these threads.

When we witnessed or experienced this sort of MLM exploitation.

When someone started a thread about their experience.

When it resonated and others posted their own experiences.

When a little bit of investigation on t'internet opened up a shocking world of mass exploitation, on a global scale Shock.

Where we first met eyes Grin.

Let us not forget our beginnings.

Our commitment to shine a light on deceptive practices, corrupt activities, lies and threats, from MLM companies.

Keep asking questions.

Keep deflecting diversionary tactics.

Keep making a difference one step at a time.

Gimlet1984 · 18/03/2016 07:40

Chimps Why are you so fascinated by colonial slavery? You do realise that slavery has existed as far back as Sumerian times so why are you using this specific example?

Slavery was common in Greek and Roman conquest does this mean we should boycott anything related to Greece and Italy??

There are parts of the Bible which advocate slavery what are your views on this?

African states also had a key role in the slave trade. Slavery was actually a common practice among Africans. There were three types of slaves. If you weren't part of the same tribe you could be taken captive and sold. There were those who became slaves due to their unpaid debts and some whose parents gave them up as slaves to their tribal chiefs. Chieftains could barter their slaves to European buyers for things like rum, spices, cloth or other goods. In fact when Britain abolished slavery in 1807 the Africans didn't like it. The King of Bonny (now in Nigeria) was horrified at the conclusion of the practice and he said "We think this trade must go on. That is the verdict of our oracle and the priests. They say that your country, however great, can never stop a trade ordained by God himself."

You really need to brush up on your history Chimps before you come trying to race shame people.

ambler21 · 18/03/2016 07:41

Well said stopstaffing

As for our Simeon distractor, your ramblings make less and less sense and I'm left with one overriding thought

throwingpebbles · 18/03/2016 07:42

and here is a gentle reminder of how easily lying seems to come to many top bots in Forever Living.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 18/03/2016 07:49

Let me get this straight - 'barnbot' got lied to by another bot, yet still doesn't seem to understand why these threads are running.

Motorheadmum · 18/03/2016 07:58

stopfaffing they are brilliant ways to remind us. Very sad for the people concerned but like you say this is why we are here.

I felt like that when I was conned by Arbonne, luckily it was for a few months and I ended up with a full refund so wasn't out of pocket at all. I see a couple of FL bots on my fb and I wonder exactly how they are funding their business, they ne et has any spare money.

Gimlet1984 Ironically, the 'Christian' crooks behind the notorious South Sea Bubble, peddled effectively-valueless shares in an effectively non-existent scheme to generate endless-profits from trading in Africans (who were legally considered to be property and, therefore, no different to animals). This vast fraud hid in plain sight, and it was given credibility by its links to the British Monarchy and senior members of the British government.

Of course, if we need any further information about slavery, or indeed about mass-frauds, I'm sure the 'FLP' Lord Hee Haw WWC will be able to direct us to her own published works on these matters.

By the way, Eye. I think that the link to that study of the 10 major MLMs bears reposting occasionally. I found it extremely interesting so thank you for it. I'm sure other posters and readers would appreciate the references also.

I wouldn't want to be accused of avoiding questions (I had gone to bed last night - we are not in the UK and an hour ahead, and one has to sleep at some point, I am not a vampire).

Twunk - same question to YOU - can I have YOUR views on the impact that the British had on many African countries in the past? - How do you stand on slavery for instance - a belief system devised and perpetrated by the English and American on a continent of millions...

It was a shameful period in history and as a citizen of a former slave-trading nation and a resident of a former slave-trading nation I am nothing but ashamed of our massive part in the untold misery of untold millions. I am also aware that in more modern times massive loans were given to developing nations that they were unable to afford and were thus crippled by debt in order to cover colossal interest payments. I am also aware that in today's world there is a plague of racism. These things added together demonstrate the appalling legacy of developed nations' interference and exploitation in the continent of Africa, and beyond.

I'm not sure I agree with Gimlet's analysis as it's blaming the oppressed for what they did under oppression. But I do agree slavery has always been endemic in human society, in fact it is considered that there are more slaves in the world now than there ever were even in the 18th and 19th centuries.

I'm still not sure what this has to do with MLMs moving into countries like Uganda. Surely it exemplifies why the west should STOP exploiting the developing world? Did you read the link to a Ugandan newspaper?

It's a bizarre argument.

stopfaffing great post.

To take it back to the numbers game. A rep was pushing this company with earn an extra £200-£2000 a month or more claims. I got this graphic from the company's main website. Funnily enough the actual earnings for the majority of consultants at $30 a month wasn't mentioned by this guy.

This is what ALL MLM companies should be producing. Time for some regulations like this in the UK I think. So if you want to work your arse off for £2000 a month you can, and maybe you'll do it, but you have the realistic view when you start, that you'll probably only make £20-£30 a month.

Yes sorry, I was just ensuring I answered questions directed to me. To get back to the real topic:

MLM schemes are pyramid schemes.

They are unbelievably risky investments, both of time and money. You have an almost 100% likelihood of losing money.

When you are recruited you are lied to about your chances of success and if you fail it is ALWAYS your fault.

Even those that 'break even' or make a small profit DON'T because if you take into account the hundreds or thousands of hours of unpaid labour they can only ever be in debt to the scheme.

But the people at the top? They make a fortune from your hard graft. Especially the company itself.

Such an imbalance of power and a lack of regulation means those at the bottom are rife for exploitation and bullying.

It makes your friends and acquaintances not want to know you as they get fed up of being approached/harassed with this scam

They are often overpriced inferior products. And as the video (now deleted) upthread demonstrated, trying to make money just selling them is effectively impossible. You HAVE to recruit. And schemes that rely on recruitment to keep them going are....

Twunk · 18/03/2016 08:38

1gorgeousson and that is before you have paid your normal expenses, travel and for the brainwashing success days.

Excellent posts Stopfaffing
The testimonials of people who feel conned by MLMs are what started these threads, and I can only begin to imagine what someone in a third world country must feel when the realisation hits them.

As for our regular visitor here: the advice is usually 'don't feed the troll' so just keep in mind what their objective is and don't get distracted.
