worceeter are you in work the same time the FL table is on? If so I'd be tempted to go up to it and have a chat about the products with the microphone on your phone on. See what health claims are being made (in a hospital!)

Not a bad idea for any of us to do that at any FL stall etc we see, all evidence which can be passed to media.

I bet FL team training have been told to keep all health claims verbal now. But we are watching FL!

romoca · 11/03/2016 07:35

I joined FL last month, spent 200 on the started box, the following week another 130 on products, the commission i made?? 16 pound....... that's the reality!!!! i can't deny i like some of the products.. but i am quitting, maybe it works for some folk i don't know!!! what i hate is if your not making anything within the company...its your fault..you need t do more training etc.... nothing to do with the face products are over priced ...not one of my friends or family brought anything from me and im kinda glad they didn't now!!!!! i feel quite embarrassed i fell for it even if it was only for a few short weeks... i have a bit more to add, you are told to use an fb account to create a lifestyle to make other intrigued by what you do, i found even in th short weeks i was involved spending wayyy to much time on social media!! i simply couldn't show off a life style i didn't have...that's lying in my book!!! the amazing opportunity isn't really about selling the products but about recruiting ....i thought how can i recruit and tell people about this amazing opportunity when ive spent hundreds and got 16 back???? id be lying....i couldn't do it!!! it doesn't sit right with me!!

stopfaffing · 11/03/2016 07:45

Hi romoca, welcome to the thread Smile. Your experience is pretty typical from what we've uncovered about MLMs generally and FL in particular.

You have had a lucky escape and only lost £300 odd pounds but more importantly, kept your integrity intact and avoided exploiting your friends and family. Phew.

Have you had a look at our Bot Watch and Timeless Vie fb pages? Or had a read of our Timeless Vie website? That'll tell you about other peoples' experiences with MLM companies.

CheekySmile · 11/03/2016 07:47

romoca I think FL relies heavily on the embarrassment factor to keep people involved. It makes total sense, broadcast this fab (fake) life on FB so it become tricky to untangle yourself from once the reality hits.
But hopefully you know that everyone on these threads has the utmost respect for those who do get out. That takes a lot of balls, and I'm just glad you weren't in it for too long so didn't lose too much.

DeliciousIrony · 11/03/2016 07:50

All sorts of people fall for these schemes romoca, well done for getting out not!

DeliciousIrony · 11/03/2016 07:50

*Now, obvs

crumpetsfortea37 · 11/03/2016 08:00

Well done romoca for seeing the reality so quickly! You have saved yourself a lot of wasted time and money.

artlessflirt · 11/03/2016 08:04

Morning!

I'm a long time lurker on this thread. Woke up this morning to a post on a FB group fro local mums asking for ideas about starting a business from home. Lady stated no juice plus but, of course, a FL bot posted about earning between £200 and £600 per month Hmm

I posted how I'd be wary of MLMs and posted the Timeless Vie page. Hopefully o haven't trod on too many toes (I'm new to the area so trying to make friends) but couldn't just watch as another person got sucked in!

Twunk · 11/03/2016 08:36

Good on you romoca and artlessflirt

acatcalledjohn · 11/03/2016 08:36

Welcome, romoca, and well done for getting out! Good to hear you got out so quickly, that will have prevented you getting to far in financially, but also prevented you losing friends!

artlessflirt, well done! Again, I would be slightly careful in your shoes (I don't have kids not am I looking to meet new people in a new area) as posting against MLMs can sometimes result in people blocking/badmouthing you too. It's not all sisterhood and happiness and support, as one existing bot experienced yesterday (or so she says: She never shared exactly what was said/how it was said and by whom - just one of those typical of bots quote posts).

rayofhope · 11/03/2016 08:41

Hi romoca welcome, that's the side I found hard too. I don't like lying and didn't sit with me right to make up things about my life to draw people in. I didn't want to 'fake it til I make it'

Someone asked on a previous page what was an unrecognised manager (sorry can't remember who it was)

You become an unrecognised manager if someone in your team also becomes manager in the same period as you and you haven't hit certain criteria. (you can use 2 consecutive months to become manager)

You have to be 4cc active.
Generate 120cc from yourself and your team
If someone is becoming manager in your team in those same 2 consecutive months as you then you also need to have at least 25cc in the 2nd month which is outside their leg (so by recruiting other people) to be a recognised manager.

If you don't have this you will be unrecognised. You still get your product bonus and bonus on any non manager team but you won't be paid your team leading bonus on your new manager or be able to qualify for the company incentives.

You can however, still qualify as a recognised manager by doing 120cc outside that manager leg and be 4cc active.

cozietoesie · 11/03/2016 08:46

120 cc? Gosh. That's a lot.

Welcome romoca and artlessflirt. Well done for wading through the sea of ordure and getting here. Smile

rayofhope · 11/03/2016 08:49

Think of it as just starting over again. 120cc from any new recruits and retail and that can be split over 2 months. But yes, it is a lot.

Eyespying · 11/03/2016 08:49

romoca You have been defrauded by a very powerful system designed to prevent victims from facing reality and complaining. Would you had joined had you known the true overall results of the 'FLP' racket?, which are as follows:

Since the so-called 'FLP MLM income opportunity' was first instigated, effectively every single person who has joined it has abandoned it after receiving less money back from it than they have committed to it. Current estimates (based on 'FLP's' declared 'distributor' numbers and annual retention rates) are that somewhere around 2.6 millions individuals are being churned through the 'FLP' racket each year, or 26 millions per decade.

You should not feel embarrassed, on the contray you should be extremely proud of yourself for resisting the coordinated devious techniques of persuasion which this dissimulated cult tried to inflict on you without your informed consent.

Have you read this article?

...Manifestation is the effect of the magnet on you...

Oh Boy.

artlessflirt · 11/03/2016 09:07

Acatcalledjohn, I tried to be very tactful and suggest that the OP be fully informed before she jumped into anything like that. Hopefully it's taken the way it is intended, if not I guess I will have to put up with the consequences!

I did Avon before I had the Munchkin and whilst it was good to have something to do, it became clear very quickly I wasn't going to make any sort of money from it and just ended up buying stuff for myself! I would still buy from Avon now but kind of got fed up of trying to push the catalogues on to family/friends. Even though they bought stuff I got the feeling that it was more to help me than something they wanted, which put me off. Can't even begin to imagine how much worse it is when you've got an up line trying to pressure you into meeting crazy high targets!

ZigAZigAhh · 11/03/2016 09:12

I am a regular user of a local mums FB page. Yesterday a JP bot posted a pile of drivel about an amazing opportunity and having space on her team for two motivated people and having made hundreds of £££ despite only starting two weeks ago...Hmm

I was so pleased to see that she was quickly jumped on by a number of mums who commented that JP and other such "opportunities" were pyramid schemes, similar to a religion and very much unwelcome. The bot tried to defend JP ('like a religion? I can't see that, it's just an amazing opportunity and I thought local mums would be interested') but the whole post was shut down by group admin very shortly after.

cozietoesie · 11/03/2016 09:14

I think that that's right, artless. I suspect that all over the place, there are mums, aunties, grannies etc all buying an item or two to 'help out' - with the problem that when they do so, many people just see it as the 'success of the strategy' rather than people being kind. It's futile to 'encourage' them in that way, really.

Eyespying · 11/03/2016 09:20

ZigAZigAhh Thanks. At the rate our MN campaign is going, soon it will be common-knowledge that 'MLM' = cultic racket. Perhaps, then the authorities will feel obliged to shut down the front companies in the UK. It is these legally-registered corporate structures, which have fooled many people into believing that 'MLM' is perfectly legal in Britain. Sadly, it also means that, by failing to do their job, regulators have been in part responsible for millions of British citizens being defrauded.
