Just thinking. Do products from certain MLMs automatically cure sight issues? I don't immediately recall any blog pictures including people with spectacles - or certainly not to the extent of the general population. Maybe they're all too young and/or wearing contacts though. Maybe blondes don't have sight defects?

BSintolerant · 12/02/2016 22:27

Aha! toobusytowee that should do the job nicely. Smile

Loving the whingewine link and those memes - especially the skeleton (who must have done too many C9s).

lastuseraccount123 · 12/02/2016 22:35

yes, anyway we can get the word out is a good thing imo.

Thanks for the comments about the blog.

Eyes that is a good idea to use an already established phrase to name the cult aspect. Thanks.

lastuseraccount123 · 12/02/2016 23:32

reblogged it to TV.

I've been having fun tonight!

On a Facebook support group for my disability, a FloBot was private messaging and posting trying to tell people that green gunk would cure us and change our genetics. (Blocking people who posted against her) This group has 6,500 people on, many who struggle to work/are struggling for money, so ripe pickings for bots.

I wanted to post anonymously so people wouldn't track me there or here and for other reasons, so admin posted for me. Thought you would like to know what I posted. Reassuringly before I posted, around 40 people had already said something along the lines of "its a scam", "buy it from the pound shop".

Thanks last.
Looked up one the bots, so so sad her posts, the only person liking them is her!!
Botofspother, checking for what? These will be my only post under this username.

NameChangeDuh · 12/02/2016 23:51

Oops sorry btofspother, you were checking your own namechange! Great minds like mine! Didn't see you second post until I posted. Oopsie!

Toobusytowee · 12/02/2016 23:52

Well done namechange. With that many people in a group I expect a few would have signed up without you warning them.

Botofspother · 12/02/2016 23:52

Ha ha, no worries :)

BSintolerant · 13/02/2016 00:08

How does the FL bonus scheme actually work? Am I right in thinking this is an extra payment on top of what little they make from sales?

cozietoesie · 13/02/2016 00:17

I'd be interested to know how the 'bonuses' are calculated and to whom they're awarded. I have the distinct impression that they're sweeteners given to those whose face fits. I could be entirely wrong of course.

LadyHonoriaDedlock · 13/02/2016 00:21

Nice one namechange, do you mind if I nick that to pm to potential bots?

NameChangeDuh · 13/02/2016 00:25

Hang on lady, will post the text here so it's easier. I forgot to add on the link to send to current bots added up thread which is great.

NameChangeDuh · 13/02/2016 00:33

Feel free to tidy up the grammar, I was on a bit of a pre bed/tired rant. Here it is....

Unfortunately

  • forever living
  • Arbonne
  • Juice plus
  • Arrix
  • Amway
  • Herbalife
  • Scentsy
  • Stella and dot etc etc etc are all pyramid selling schemes. Also known as MLMs/multi-level marketing. The sellers/distributors at the bottom actually end up likely paying in more money for training days/buying product for themselves to use than they make. Most of these drop out silently after losing money and friends/family. But not after going into debt to keep going believing that it's their fault they are not trying hard enough. As that is what they are told.

The only people making money are those many many layers higher, who happily sign up people when they are vulnerable (including disabled people on benefits or struggling to remain in a job) to push themselves further up the food chain. They are encouraged to boast about income and rent expensive houses/cars they cannot afford to show how successful they are to encourage more to join. Wording posts to make people think they are buying houses/cars rather than renting them. For example told to sell their houses and use the money left to rent an expensive house until the money is gone. To show people you are doing well to sign up more people thinking you are doing this amazingly due to the company in the hope that one day you will get there. Unless you hit your overdraft first.

It is common to target women on maternity leave saying that they can work around their family/15 hours per week, when they are expected to work all day, every evening and go away to training weekends they fund themselves (to line the up lines pockets) never actually seeing their families. Also having to pay themselves for their website/training CDs/books/branded table clothes etc. Yes the people at the top show big cheques, but they don't show that they have to work 14hrs a day 7 days a week for that conning others, which is a shit wage and not family friendly. The "free holidays" are actually working holidays, and you don't get any free time for real holidays. Also they have to pay for training weekends/their petrol/going out for meals which they won't deduct from their income to show a real low figure or realistically a net loss. You would earn more working 16 hours per week on the checkout in tesco. Working for tesco you would also have a pension/sick leave and maternity leave. The MLM companies encourage you to work right through your maternity leave/recruit in postnatal ward. That is not family friendly. Ask yourself why they do just not sell through amazon/EBAY, why the need to talk people into recruiting other sellers?

There are so many websites / videos popping up now to warn people, try to help those who feel they can't leave due to debt. They are told not to make medical claims to cover the company, but then encouraged to do so. Anyone trying to help them see the light is told they are negative and to cut them out of their lives.
