so, I've started a thread in chat here it is

about working flexibly around family. because I have had some Bots post very defensive things about how "do you want me to give this up and go back to working 60 hour weeks and never see my family". and it got me thinking about all the different people I know who have found ways to work flexibly. I just thought it would be a nice counter to the constant barrage of posts suggesting working for an MLM is the only way to achieve that "elusive" work life balance.

anyway, now, back to work, as I need to build up my flexi time so I can take half term off to be with my little monsters!!!

Does anyone know anything about the Mormon church? Just the name 'Forever Living' screams Mormon.

There's a guide book to be read alongside their bible. Some of the stuff you've talked about on these threads reminds me of that book

Oh and fantastic news!

My family member FL Bot has stopped. Like Cubic no drama - just stopped.

I've got my DSis back Grin

Annie65 · 11/02/2016 20:56

Lore, excellent news, well done to her.

Ribbet8890 · 11/02/2016 20:58

Yay new thread :) Some one mentione a share sceme that could be worth watching. There is one run by this guy and company, he does London seminars on how to beat the banks etc, www.moremoneyreview.com/corporate-raider-review-22544.html

for £27 a month you get some really "high quality" CD ROMS which i have seen in the flesh, then it gets a little confusing. the cd launch a connection to the web, which then seems to list a range of "shares" you can buy, and you are paid to do so...... this is what i was told by a man who has been to the seminars, met the man (so it must be above board) and subscribes to the £27 a month course and now is paid to buy these shares......

yes Iorek the mormons appear to be heavily involved in MLMs, including FL

lorek That's excellent news.

How long was your bot at it before she realised that Forever Living was a complete waste of time and money?

WhirlwindHugs · 11/02/2016 21:12

On a local group someone has asked for recommendations for eczema creams - most of the replies are people trying to sell MLM products!
Anyone got a good link for avoid untested creams... No fucking way would I use any of them on sore skin.

throwingpebbles · 11/02/2016 21:18

aveeno is highly rated whirlwind and GPs are actually happy to prescribe it

Eyespying · 11/02/2016 21:19

A long time ago, I began to say that 'MLM' could also stand for 'Mormons Losing Money.'

throwingpebbles · 11/02/2016 21:19

(the Forever creams in particular they should avoid, they are stuffed full of ingredients that actually tend to exacerbate eczema)

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 11/02/2016 21:21

Thank you! I knew you lot would understand how fantastic this news is Smile

BS she was in it for about 15 months. We didn't really speak for most of that time as I didn't want to flog aloe shite join her team.

I have no idea how much money she has lost - I dread to think. She hasn't really said anything yet and I don't want to ask questions for fear of losing her again. If/when she tells me anything about her FL time I will share so it can be added to evidence pile.

I wouldn't use any other hand cream and I didn't know this ^

WhirlwindHugs · 11/02/2016 21:26

Ah, good tack, will try that.

Bovnydazzlers · 11/02/2016 21:27

The quote by motorhead was that debunked on an earlier thread? eye you probably came up with the detail, but wasn't it the case that the true stat is 80% of people in MLMs are women, nothing to do with £100k?
I prefer the stat 99% of people in MLMs don't make money...

throwingpebbles · 11/02/2016 21:29

Aveeno

Both my children suffer from severe eczema (or rather they did as infants until we worked out what food allergies were the triggers!)

Motorheadmum · 11/02/2016 21:34

bovny I wish I had something to comment back! She threw me out of her FL group for posting about Rex Maughn being homophobic.....

Eyespying · 11/02/2016 21:45

Bovnydazzlers Although often quoted, the 99% figure itself is an under-estimation, because it only takes into account the current crop of insolvent 'MLM' adherents.

It is actually more accurate to say that, when you disregard the insignificant minority of fabulously-wealthy 'MLM' bosses, and under-bosses, who know how the trick is pulled, then the hidden overall loss/churn rate for all the many millions of transient, ill-informed losing-investors in 'MLM' rackets (since the first one was instigated in the late 1940s), has been effectively 100%.

throwingpebbles · 11/02/2016 21:51

Great news last !!

Am just wondering if my thread in chat at the moment could be used as the basis of an "alternatives to working for an MLM" fact sheet or similar? It's really interesting seeing all the different jobs people are doing and achieving the work life balance forever etc puport to offer

Melaw21 · 11/02/2016 21:53

See that MLM's? pyramid schemes? your days are numbered..... We are coming for you! 😉😉
