So much of what's been posted about recently is true of my bot. She started about 18 months ago, her partner was the first person she signed up and their 'business' was promoted under both of their names. She made assistant supervisor quite quickly (I guess from her joining, signing him and then purchasing enough stuff herself to qualify) In the last year she's recruited 3 others from what I can tell, but as they've been spread out she isn't getting further up the rankings.

Recently the business has changed to just being her. I'm hoping her partner has seen the light and that they'll be getting out altogether soon.

She's due to go back to work after maternity leave in May, it'll be interesting to see what happens. Especially after harping on for so long about all of the 'choices' she has thanks to FL (none of which were due to her being on mat leave of course).

I really hope she has the strength to get out. Much respect to all those of you here who've not only done just that but also come forward to share your story and truly help others.

It explains all of those scowling DP photos we've seen on Facebook!

Awesome insights Cubic hopefully this common sense talk of the realities will give people involved the tools they need to make an informed choice. Mumsnet and TV will be here to give anyone who gets out a big hug and a chat over a cuppa.

My FL bots have gone very quiet, it's almost as if HO have told them to keep a low profile. Another F/B friend says she has started her own "business" joined me to a F/B group without my permission (which has pissed me off) and has posted crappy quality photos about her skin care range, at first I thought she was selling home made skincare but I've done a bit of digging and it's Nuskin, whatever that is? Everyone is commenting and asking for price lists wondering what she is doing, I'm assuming it's another MLM? I've just asked her outright on her page, not sure how well that will go down!

MrGrumpy01 · 04/02/2016 19:37

cubic that's a good point re the first promotion, they all seem to be promoted very quickly in their own independent business hook 'em and reel 'em in quickly then they are just left in limbo.

TheCatsTiara · 04/02/2016 19:39

Statistically Challenged thank you for explaining thrive. Neither their website nor my Younique bot have managed to do so, but I did glean that they do flog nutrition patches. Totally batshit crazy as Sminkypink said.
All this stuff about fudging the downlines is so interesting and given the culprits, not surprising.
The further you dig, the more depressing it gets, but as lots have said it's good to see more ex-MLMers bravely coming forward.

throwingpebbles · 04/02/2016 19:41

Amazing explanation cubic that's certainly what 'my' FL bot (a member of my extended family) was up to to make herself look successful.

darceybussell · 04/02/2016 19:46

I was under the impression that most MLMs wouldn't let you sign up your husband or partner as a separate distributor. Have I got that wrong, or is that a rule that is just ignored?

Explosive downline growth Ribbet. Isn't that the effect aloe Vera gunk has on most people who drink it.

cozietoesie · 04/02/2016 20:18

Could someone explain the multiple eBay listings to me? I'm currently seeing around 3.5k listings for FL products and a whole shedload for aloe vera - which I haven't checked out but some at least seem to be FL. (There may be some overlap.) Is it all people trying to offload?

Sorry - that should read 4.5k FL product listings. The numbers are getting to me.

cozietoesie · 04/02/2016 20:23

Thanks Cubic. So it's pretty well all offloading?
