Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

Hi
As far as I'm aware you should not blank out anything on bank statements - they see this as defacing and ask you to resend them. From what you say I feel you have a plausible explaination, however, you can't you be seen as using your single parent money to support him, or else you may be seen as s couple - his maintenence payments are ok and they aren't really meant to ask about that anyway. They will be looking for transfers between accounts. Might be an idea if he puts a ref in future e.g child's maintenence.

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 06/06/2016 23:55

Oh no I definitely don't support him, not sure if my previous post made it sound that way, I don't give him money. He just sometimes gives me extra money (not large amounts and not often) for our son to buy a game or top up his PlayStation account with credit. All they payments he makes to me are transferred with the reference "child maintenance" on the payment. It's just going to be such a pain to send so many pages of bank statements. I literally use my debit card for everything so 1 months statement can be about 15 pages. I know I can get the bank to print a statement that just shows my incoming money, I wonder if that would be ok? Or do they want to see what I spend money on too?

Got the dreaded Letter last week don't know what to do they say am living with partner but it's not true , my sky in ex name but come out my bank as a couldn't get sky same with my Moblie phone in which a pay a cant send them copy of my bills as there not in my name , feel worried anyone help ?

1971Loulou · 07/06/2016 09:10

Allsgood - I believe they want to see in comings and outgoing trends and cash withdrawals.

Biscuit - is your mobile phone in his name but your home address ? And have they asked for Sky specifically ? They didn't ask for Sky or TV in my case just water gas and electric. If they didn't ask for Sky you don't need to post it. Just send what they have asked for.

Sky comes out of my account but it at my ex house which he shares with his dad and sister they pay me every month but they didn't ask about that in the letter so shall I not mention that ? Been looking over my statments it shows my mum paid huge sum in to my bank which was a loan to my ex, as we are all on good terms shall I just not say anything ? All it says in letter about another adult living with me which they ain't and I can't send other bills they ask for as it my mum that pays them? Sorry for all the questions 🙈

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 07/06/2016 09:48

I called them again this morning and the woman was really helpful. It's been flagged up because my Virgin account is still in my ex's name and the letters come to my address. But I can prove I pay the bill and that's the only bill that's in his name and that's only because it's still under contract. I do have sky tv in my name but I can't get sky internet in my area yet so I use the virgin Internet until I can. She said that all sounds fine and just explain that on a letter and give the details of where my ex lives now, which is all fine, he lives with his parents but has stuff registered there in his name. She said its fine he pays maintenance for our son as they'd expect that anyway. They need my statements to prove I'm financially independent, so it proves I pay my bills and do my win shopping etc. I'm less stressed now I know what the issue is.

Charlotteblan · 07/06/2016 10:36

Same here I got through to a lovely lady! And guess who name flagged up! My brother He a disabled adult really made me feel better knowing that! She said send info they ask for as much as I can so i will send in what statements I have and explain about ex maintaince hopfully that will be it ! Fingers crossed

1971Loulou · 07/06/2016 11:46

Allsgood- makes me laugh them asking you to send his address. He's not their customer. And why can't they look him up on the electoral role.

1971Loulou · 07/06/2016 11:54

Charlotte- just send in what they have asked for. You don't need to send in Sky. I didn't. They didn't ask for it. I sent the bare minimum they asked for. Bad enough they didn't even Send me an SAE envelope, plus printing and recorded postage costs. Regarding the huge sum , depends what you call huge! I believe over a certain amount you should let them know within 1 month but don't quote me on it.

Loulabell09 · 07/06/2016 13:55

Has anyone got any idea of how long this process will take from them receiving your documents to receiving a section back? Posted everything they asked for today so just a matter of waiting now.

Loulabell09 · 07/06/2016 13:56

Sorry meant decision not section lol

youknowwhattodo · 07/06/2016 16:10

Ive been waiting 6 weeks. I rang last week and they received documents which i have received back but they couldnt tell me how long it would be before i heard back - just that they would write to me! So annoying!!

Loulabell09 · 07/06/2016 17:46

Youknowwhat that is really awful being kept waiting that long, if that is the timescale I'm going to go insane. May do my best to keep my mind off it. Hope everyone waiting at the minute gets good news soon. Really unfair treatment would prefer them to come to my door and see my home and who lives in it.

Charlotteblan · 07/06/2016 17:55

I still In shock the name that linked to my house is my brother we share the same surname !

youknowwhattodo · 07/06/2016 18:01

I was really worried at first, couldn't sleep and constantly thinking about it. I keep ringing them and they are always lovely on the phone but cant give me any answers. They did say that it could take up to 10 weeks so I'm hoping i hear soon. I will let you all know if i do.

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 07/06/2016 18:04

If it's taken upto 10 weeks, are payments getting stopped?! I don't know what I'm going to do if that happens. How stressful!

youknowwhattodo · 07/06/2016 18:07

No I've still had my payments - if they stopped i would have to give up work as i wouldn't be able to afford my childcare

Charlotteblan · 07/06/2016 18:10

Did anyone get the awards notice still ? As I renewed about month before I got this letter and not heard anything still from hmrc , or will I not hear anything till these silly people make there minds up

youknowwhattodo · 07/06/2016 18:26

I renewed about 2 weeks before i got my letter and the man on the phone when i tried to renew said because its with concentrex it could take up to 10 weeks before i get my reward notice, so i was expecting the letter from concentrex as hmrc had told me when i phoned to renew.

1971Loulou · 07/06/2016 19:20

I hadn't renewed , concentrix write asking for me to send my renewal back then send all the bumph. Bit annoyed I had to rush everything although it says you can renew before 31st July . I had a message off hmrc saying it could take up to six weeks. I really don't want all this hanging over my head in the summer holidays!!!!

1971Loulou · 07/06/2016 19:22

Allsgood My payments haven't stopped, and they best not!

Charlotteblan · 08/06/2016 17:00

Spoke to someone at hmrc as more money had appeared in my account apprently while concentix do they investigations we get our money as normal x

Flojohns80 · 08/06/2016 19:30

Charlotteblan..quick wuestion as I know your querying what to send in also..I was going to just send in the minimum of what they asked but now reading these threads and knowing they take up to ten weeks to let you know anything I can't help but think am I best of sending in my scs statements now to show I purchased couch for my boyfriend..I was just going to write he covering letter and say I have documents if they want to see them but don't think I could bear for them to keep me waiting about six seven weeks to decide they want more evidence then I have to wait even longer for them to make a decision!! The whole thing has truly made me so sick x

Charlotteblan · 08/06/2016 19:35

Have you spoken to them at all? And been told what names flagged up on there system? I was going to send everything in but now I know it my brother me will send mum council tax few statements and brother birth certificates , I understand I would wanna explain and send everything in X

Flojohns80 · 08/06/2016 20:23

Yes it's my boyfriends name I spoke to them last week and they were nice!..he has his bank statements etc sent here as imwhete he has moved to within the last year his post isn't reliable he lives with his son and his friend and he's been the victim of card fraud twice and has had new cards never delivered to his address so for peace of mind I said to get it all sent to mine..now I'm worrying as he Ives me money every month as i took out a loan for £1800 as his credit rating is poor and he has started paying it back..I also got a telly for him which was £812 and I kid that off using my credit card and again he pays me for that..there are times I have lent him money and he either gives me the money when I see him or transfers it to me when he can..just feel so sick worrying about it all
