Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

It took about 10 weeks for me to get the documents back, but they will be returned.

Lovelyname · 29/07/2016 08:13

I thought that the decision makers are also the ones who take the calls. From what the gentleman on the phone was saying, they are too busy taking calls to go through the paperwork and make decisions. Its ridiculous that they are sending so many letters out but not enough staff
To keep up with it

Overtiredbackagain · 29/07/2016 10:01

I'm now at 11 weeks, and whilst at the beginning it was all I could think about and I was sick with worry (I still have the odd panic and wobble!), I am now beyond the stage of letting it affect my sleep. I know full well I will be given a bill for overpaid tax credits, as I was never aware, probably through my own naivety (although I am sure I was never told on the phone either when I made my original claim back in June 2014 - when I separated from my exH) that you couldn't claim the element of childcare vouchers. The delay has, however, given me the time to work out my finances, try and cut down on anything non-essential, worst case scenario is, it will be tight without receiving my tax credits, and I would still need to factor in an amount per month to repay the overpaid amount, but I'll manage! I'm already in so much debt from my ex-H, might as well add another couple of years to what I am already paying!! Hmm I'm certainly not going to let the stress of it ruin my two weeks at home during the summer holidays with the DC.

Lovelyname · 29/07/2016 14:09

Overtired, mine is also about childcare and the vouchers. I had done exactly the same as you, i know i have been over paid and continue to do so until they have sorted it but i cant manage and on what i get so dont know what im going to do

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 29/07/2016 16:07

Just got off the phone to them, got me absolutely no where as usual. Am stuck in the addictive rut of phoning every week to see if a desicion has been made as I've read it can take weeks for the letter to com to you anyway, but nope still awaiting a desicion!. A part of me also hopes each time I call that it might rush my case through a bit quicker but again nope. Aparantly they are working through cases as quickly as possible and wer all in a que!

woodly2013 · 29/07/2016 18:49

Just rang Concentrix this minute. Got a nice, polite guy and for the first time the systems were working! He has taken my barcode information and told me the issue regarding 'another adult at my address/me linked to another address' has been resolved! I am to expect a letter to confirm. I also got my documents back today that I sent off in June so that's been about 6wks. Looks like everything for me has been sorted. That's a huge weight off my mind. Good luck everyone in your pursuit of a successful resolution. I will keep in touch Smile

Loulabell09 · 29/07/2016 18:59

woodly2013 I am delighted for u, heres hoping the good news keeps coming. Enjoy the rest of the summer with kids x

woodly2013 · 29/07/2016 19:25

Hi Loulabell09 thank you! I'm hoping with the renewal deadline date being 31/7 that Concentrix will need to clear their backlog and lots of us will be receiving resolution news. Fingers crossed x

Blabla85 · 29/07/2016 19:31

I too spoke to a nice man today who told me my case is with a caseworker on there desk as we speak and told me to ring back Monday for an update! Got my documents back as well that been about 6 weeks about 8 since I sent it all off, hoping all info was enough and one look at birth cerficate and this is all over !

woodly2013 · 29/07/2016 19:48

Good luck for Monday Blabla85. X

Loulabell09 · 29/07/2016 20:02

Just phoned Concentrix and asked for an update. Was speaking to a really helpful guy who said the usual in queue just a matter of waiting. When I asked him could I be put through to decision makers he said it was not possible as they do not take calls at all in that department. He then offered to look through my documents if I wanted him to and I said I would appreciate it. After about 5 mins he came back on the line and said he had looked through them and in his opinion I had nothing to worry about and hoped it would give me piece of mind. He said he could not close but would put a note on my case that I had been waiting a long time and hopefully it would hurry it up for me. Most helpful person I have spoke to yet and at least I know conversation was recorded. Will give it to next Friday and then go down complaint route but have to say I feel a lot better after speaking to that guy tonight x

Blabla85 · 29/07/2016 20:04

Hopfully in a weeks time this will be sorted for a few of us x

woodly2013 · 29/07/2016 20:20

Looks like a different shift of staff on the phones tonight! Helpful ones at last. Yay! Glad you feel a bit better. X

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 29/07/2016 20:25

The dead lines for renewals are only set for us to get our info back to tax creds. It's not a deadline for hmrc or concentrix to get things sorted :(

ThomasRichard · 30/07/2016 21:15

Hello everyone! I got a letter in June asking for proof of childcare costs, which I sent back on time by recorded delivery. As I don't pay a set amount (it changes depending on how many days are in the term), I was about £5 a month out in my forward estimate compared to what it totalled to in the end, so about £30 over-estimated overall as I claimed for 6 months. Up until April I under-claimed by £25 a month, so £100 in total. Are they going to go bananas and fine me to kingdom come or is that a within-margin calculation?

MillyMushroom · 30/07/2016 22:57

Does anyone know if there is a 'second coming' of this madness.
Once it's been resolved is that it, or do they keep retuning??

Mumzyknowsbest · 31/07/2016 00:17

Milly from what I've seen they might ask again next year. This is why I'm working on getting off tax credits completely. (which they want but hey so do I lol)

On another note, my friend just told me that she's ignored her child care letter from concentrix and I just had to facepalm. I've learnt so much lately about these guys that you cannot ignore it. I hope she manages to sort something out but what people (and my friend) don't realize is that it's not that they just stop your money now... they actually reclaim the whole time period of that claim.

Don't ignore it. Give them what they ask,as soon as possible. And if you don't like it (I don't!) then do your best to improve your situation to not have to rely on them. This is the lesson I've learnt.

Again, best of luck everyone x

Shell234 · 31/07/2016 18:15

Bit confused my documents had to be back for 9th of July. Heard nothing yet . So if I've not had a form for my annual declaration is it by August you have to renew?
will i still get my working tax credits

MillyMushroom · 31/07/2016 18:28

I'm waiting for a better paid job to become vacant where I work so I can come off them completely. I'm literally hoping a fellow colleague sells here house so I can apply for her job. But now brexit has happened the market has slowed right down (here anyway) Sad

Morgani97 · 02/08/2016 07:21

Just thought I'd mention that unfortunately they can do these checks up to four times a year, yes really. Might be an idea to keep everything they ask or in a safe place ready for next time x

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 02/08/2016 17:29

I've not posted on here for a while, was getting so stressed out with it all! I've just called concentrix to ask for an update (my deadline was 8th July) and she said it's with decisions now so should be hearing within a couple of weeks but if I want I can call back later in the week to check if there's a decision yet. Feel nervous again now, but also glad it shouldn't be long until I know. They surely can't find anything other than I am actually single and "financially independan".

Kk88 · 02/08/2016 21:38

Just thought I'd update to say I got my letter back today to say their wad no need to change my claim! So relieved! I was expecting to wait ages as only got my docs back last week. Think its been around 7-8 weeks I've waited since I posted everything off.

I sent off everything they had asked for plus a covering letter to explain about the car that's in my ex's name but that I pay for everything for it and I wrote a brake down of all the costs I'd paid for the car in the last year in the covering letter. I also included ex bank accounts that show me paying the car insurance into his bank and the direct debit coming out. This bank is only used for the car insurance so luckily ex was happy to supply them for me to send.

woodly2013 · 02/08/2016 21:55

Fantastic news KK88! I'm really happy for you. Huge weight off your mind I'm sure. Enjoy some well deserved stress free time now. X

Loulabell09 · 02/08/2016 22:18

Kk88 I am so pleased for you, enjoy the rest of your summer and get that holiday booked x

Lovelyname · 03/08/2016 09:10

Good news kk88, it must be a huge relief to receive that letter x
