Still continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have an MLM bot of your own then join us and share their claims and content.

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous threads here and here and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

Morning Lazycoo and acat

"The Shingles woman" is just doing what they all do, implying something that is not true. She can then say "well I didn't say I had bought the barn, did I, so I did not lie". She has taken a leaf out of EC's book.

Anyway, to all regulars and visitors to our thread, have a lovely day today whatever you have planned. I have been up since early doing my santa act and putting stockings/gifts on adult kids beds, since they got in long after I'd gone to bed Grin.

Also, desperately trying to keep out of kitchen (except to make tea) because they are organising and preparing Christmas dinner today and I have to leave them to it the control freak in me longs to get in there and get cooking.

CheekySmile · 25/12/2015 09:28

Morning and merry Christmas bot-watchers! Wishing you all a very happy day, a maybe a Clean 9 under the tree?! Xmas Grin

Merry xmas x Xmas Smile I wonder if barnbot is sticking everything on a credit card. Seems it's not unusual to fake it to that extent. Heres this from MSE

sminkypink · 25/12/2015 09:35

Sorry forgot to include it, apparently one of the 'weeping on stage at a success day' so called successful bots went bankrupt in 2010. Everything was put on a card, it was all for show. My main bot had a hot tub on her dream board. She posted up photos yesterday, you can see its one of those hired inflatable ones, they are about £150 to hire for a weekend, like the adult equivalent of hiring a bouncy castle.

I'm as materialistic as anyone but I just laughed at the hot tub! You inspired the latest TV post sminky, thanks. (Right now I'm watching two small boys fight over the Star Wars game on the Xbox, so really it's a good use of time...!)

stopfaffing · 25/12/2015 09:56

Oh Sminky that's a horrible story Sad.

sminkypink · 25/12/2015 10:08

One of my clients runs a luxury handbag hire company (I just can't understand the mentality of it but she does quite well with it), I expect she's renting them out to bots.

PinkFondantFancy · 25/12/2015 16:38

Ooh excellent work finding the rental ad! It is really so scary how insideous the whole thing is. One of the FLbots that shared her FB page is a lovely friend of mine that to give her credit seems to focus only on selling the aloe rather than recruiting but I hate seeing people being suckered in by this stuff. The way these posts are written is really clever - she never said she was buying it but it reads that way at first glance.

acatcalledjohn · 25/12/2015 17:06

Hello! Dinner done after getting in the kitchen at 11 and finally sitting done at 3. Having a bit of chill time in the bath now, though some neighbours are currently lighting fireworks.

I'm not surprised at Sminky's screen dump. EC will prob be on the verge of bankruptcy soon enough. And as much as it's horrible, if you are enough of a dick to fake it in order to con other people then bankruptcy is a harsh but very necessary lesson.

acatcalledjohn · 25/12/2015 17:07

I may have had a few drinks

rayofhope · 25/12/2015 19:16

Merry Xmas guys!! Just plunking my bum in here for the duration.

That's really sad about them going bankrupt. The thing is now, with all these very vocal ones, about how well they're doing and how great life is, you'll know instantly when its not working anymore.

NH and DoC have a new book out together.......

Christmaspanties · 25/12/2015 19:25

Merry Christmas to all my anti-bots, lets hope with this shiny new thread we can save some people from throwing their money away on these MLM scams.

Flossiesmummy · 25/12/2015 19:44

gets popcorn, pulls up chair

I have two FL bots and one Arbonne bot.

I don't know why people fall for all the BS to be fair.

whattheactualfook · 25/12/2015 20:34

My take is people fall for it as these scams target people when they are at their most vulnerable and its usually their friends who lure them in. Plus very few people are willing to admit its a scam once they are in as they think its their fault they haven't made a fortune. I really admire people who do speak up.

Libitina · 25/12/2015 20:55

though some neighbours are currently lighting fireworks.

Do you live by me??? Souths Staffs?

stopfaffing · 25/12/2015 21:13

Thanks for posting that video Gimlet and yours too Cheeky.

Its interesting watching her talk. Lots of eye blinking can mean that the person is not telling the truth, she also passes her hand over her hair as if to move it away from her face, but it is not in the way of her face, that stuck out for me too. It is an odd gesture and one I really noticed.

What she says is very positive (and believable) but, us lot knowing the truth about fl and its business model, very vague too. No meat on the bones. I'd love to know what level she is on and what she's aiming for and I note she states that she now earns a "five figure sum per month" and mentions £10,000. What level is that, d'yu think? Later in the video she mentions being a six-figure earner too (2:32).

In Gimlet's link she mentions Sara, Kirsty, Lorna in Scotland (her downline there) and this video is aimed at their prospective downlines (2:42 Scotland better watch out!).

"Free luxury travel to Mexico and South Africa" means she is going to two fl events not some sort of general holiday, "car completely paid for" means she can afford the monthly rental cost (I would love to be proved wrong here).

When she mentions part time "eight to ten hours every week" the hand goes to her hair. Its definitely not true.

"What would an extra 5-10,000 per month mean to you (this time next year)? Hmm

The "Is fl a scam" video you can actually add a comment to (unlike the other one). She describes a typical pyramid scheme and goes on to state that fl is not one. She mentions Investors in People award and being an award-winning member of the DSA, Direct Selling Association... rest assured...stamp of approval...ethical company.

She goes on to compare fl products to those you could buy at supermarkets but we know that fl products are very expensive compared to those you buy at supermarkets. The price of fl products is not actually mentioned at all.

She mentions "we have no monthly fee" but we know that fl-bots (if they want financial success she mentions) have to purchase 1CC of products every month and sell 3 more, so she is being disingenuous here.

"If you decide it is not for you the company will buy back the products from you so you won't lose any money" she states. Eh? That is news to me, can anyone corroborate this?

14 day cooling off period? Yes I could see that being true as it would be a consumer law thing.

"Once you get going you can start earning profit immediately (brushes hair), start earning money immediately, to make back the cost of your investment". This means selling overpriced stuff to family and friends (pity purchases) Hmm.

"There are no targets". Yes there are. 4CCs per month if you want to achieve what she has, though she never mentions that Grin.

"It is not easy money, it is not fast money". Yup, we know Grin.

Again, she compares fl products to those you can buy at supermarkets/Boots etc. "Like having your own shop". No mention of the prices though. She does admit that "you spend your money in your own shop, that does to building your business...amazing future for your family".

She goes on to say that "I get 48% off my own products so am actually saving money on my own products so you are going to save money on your own use".

Then this "you would spend this money in Boots anyway so why not put it towards your own business".

Its good, isn't it? Very clever.

The six figure income thing boils my piss, because I can find no evidence that anyone at all is earning that much from Forever. NH may be on that income, JL may be, but I expect its from book, tapes and downloads. Its not residual income, either, because it could all dry up when the scheme collapses.
They all go on about this income and none of them even earn it, again it's lije Amway, where the promised six figure income turned out to be just $25,000 as the suthor of the book discovered.
