Still continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have an MLM bot of your own then join us and share their claims and content.

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous threads here and here and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

There's a pic of a bizarre dormitory that you could be lucky enough to stay in on training???

Awesome old thread on MSE, it has everything, someone who went bankrupt, the thread was started by a brainwashed victim blaming bot and someone - sounds as if they were working for an extras agency - paid £75 to pretend to be married to a stranger and go onstage to collect a giant cheque!

I love this thread.

I used to live near the HQ and I know many people who have attended the brainwashing rallies.

My first experience of a recruitment attempt was meeting a nice woman in the park. She was chatty, friendly and we got on really well. Then she tried to flog me the detox thing they do where you drink lots of aloe Vera and don't eat. I told her I had reactive hypoglycaemia and she told me not to worry, it was all backed up by medical research and I'd be fine. She tried to recruit me a few times then ignored me when I didn't bite.

She has been successful with it though, I can't deny it. They've moved out of their 3 bed, and via a larger house on our normal housing development have just moved into a huge house with tennis courts. Both kids in private school.

Of course she markets herself as a global leader or something and her husband and parents have both been converted. White Range Rover too...

I was glad to move far from the HQ; I lost count of the number of people who stopped me in the street or in the gym to recruit me. I live much further away now and I've been disappointed to see the FL stalls popping up at school fetes.

We worked out that it's all propped up by tax credits. You can still claim if you can demonstrate that you are working a regular amount of hours, and this includes marketing your business. I know loads of unsuccessful FL bots who claim huge amounts of tax credits to allow them to pose with their laptops...

I was asked by an old school friend if I wanted to join her new business. Glad I have found this thread. The answer will definitely be no

FloralYums · 28/12/2015 13:46

Pink - it's not very clear what ms sexton is actually flogging ? Obviously I'm keen to know

FloralYums · 28/12/2015 13:51

I'm going with forever living

AJFsmummy · 28/12/2015 14:32

My bot has claimed she has got a 160k a year turn over.

Seriously...wtf? would it not have to be a limited co? Ive company checked her so called globalbullshit name and her name to see if she is a director.......

its got to be lies lies lies.

Salemthecat · 28/12/2015 15:18

So glad I've found this thread! I know a girl who rambles constantly about being so blessed to have a business where she can work from wherever as long as she has her phone. She's also constantly posting meme's with "bossbabe" at the bottom and telling us all to message her if we want to earn to £7,000 in one month. She never mentions forever living but I just knew it was a bloody scam.

LittleMissStubborn · 28/12/2015 15:28

I have just been to my parent's and there on the mantlepiece was a FL lip balm. I never asked how she came by it, but I fear it was as a result of a ladies group she goes to, bear in mind most who go are elderly people.

Siwi · 28/12/2015 16:07

I hadn't heard about the tax credits thing before. As described by bugger all backwards.

lastuseraccount123 · 28/12/2015 16:43

tax credits. huh. very interesting. i wonder if there's a way we can get proof of that. would love to do a blog post about it.

What's chat?

sminkypink · 28/12/2015 19:33

So I looked at Hatfield council house prices. Barnbot is going to be paying about £200 a month more for her rent now she is 'smashing it'. Very clever move to find something so flash in a much cheaper part of the world.

stopfaffing · 28/12/2015 20:03

Thread in chat, Ray.

darceybussell · 28/12/2015 20:09

AJFsmummy, you don't have to be a ltd company even if your 'turnover' is large. Most regular businesses just choose to do that because of the benefits of having limited liability, tax rates etc. However I often wonder how they work out the 'turnover' figures they quote. I think it could be the total amount of product shifted and bought by their whole team. So it's not their turnover, it's the proportion of FLP's turnover contributed by their team. And perhaps they also count 'turnover' attributable to their upline too, I'm not sure.

The entire commission available to that whole team I guess would be about 30/40% of the £160k turnover - to be split between all of the team. So if there are say 30 in the team that is not much each. Then they have expenses and personal use expenditure to deduct from their cut of that.

Can anyone shed any light on that? does you know how they calculate turnover?

The alternative I suppose is that they just make it up!

The tax credits thing... www.revenuebenefits.org.uk/tax-credits/guidance/how-do-tax-credits-work/self-employed/

This should explain how it works if you are self employed and getting tax credits.

Given the list of things that are considered 'work related' It would be pretty easy being a FLbot to claim tax credits whilst promoting even if they earn pennies in commission.

Its a bugger because all those things that are work related are very valid for lots of self employed inc myself but makes it so easy for these scams to function because people feel they are making a living even if its coming from tax credits or other sources.
