Bricky, can you prove that it's your stepdad's wages going into your account and that it's their rent that is being paid? Does he have wage slips from work that tallies with the amount going in and a rental contract that states the amount of rent which will tally with the amount leaving your account? If you write to them and explain this it should be acceptable as they are more interested in money that goes into your account which you yourself are using.

So the money that your ex puts into your account just tell them that it is maintenance. My ex puts money into my account and I use it, and I don't see a problem with that. If HMRC have a problem with it they are effectively saying that fathers must not support their children by giving maintenance money to the mother as she should financiall look after them totally by herself!!

Where does your ex stay when he's working away are there any receipts that may prove that he was elsewhere, even bank statements to show transactions in another area is better than nothing.

shoepolish · 18/05/2015 16:23

Morgan that is horrific, I can't believe they stopped your money - i really hope you can get this sorted.
So utterly unbelievable that they accepted circumstances before now suddenly they are changing their minds.
Law cannot be retrospective so why HMRC can just decide to not accept something that was acceptable previously is totally beyond me!!

Bricky249wife · 18/05/2015 17:02

Thanks for the replies ladies..

Shoepolish- yeah I can prove all that not a problem should I include a copy of their rent agreement and a letter from his boss as I doubt he'll have the correct amount of payslips to hand and explain when I send the details off or should I wait unil they ask?

I'm a bit more worried about my ex having stuff registered here like bank and car and the money being transferred back and forth.

It's very much a different situation each week if he's working close to his mum's he will stay there but doesn't trust his mail going there or work will provide digs or could be with friends if he's close and occasional night here for his and girls sake.

Afternoon ladies,

so sad to see theres new people contributing to the thread, it never ends does it?

I spoke to someone this afternoon as I realised that I hadn't signed my mandatory reconsideration form, and they told me they'd received my mandatory reconsideration on 22nd april.... but I only posted it on friday (15/05) so how they can have received it a month ago i dont know?
My MP is still on the case for me, but like morgan, we're now living on fresh air. DD is content enough to just eat pasta, but it isnt healthy. I'm just glad she gets free nursery free twice a week and they feed her something healthy there.
The doctor has increased the dose of my antidepressants but I havent got any money for the new prescription so thats me fucked really.

Its my birthday this week.... Happy Fucking Birthday to me eh?

maid thats fairly good news on the hunt for your documents, I'm still no closer to tracing mine, but everything is crossed for you to get it all back

maidofkent24 · 18/05/2015 19:37

Admiral, the only reason I am getting anywhere I think is because I went direct to HMRC at Preston. Sent a complaint letter to them last week detailing all the problems I have had with Concentrix, mentioned legal action if my paperwork is not returned & at last someone is taking me seriously. Let's hope it gets some results & maybe worth others contacting HMRC so they get an idea of the problems we are all having with Concentrix.

LotusLight · 18/05/2015 20:17

maid, I'm sure that's a very good tactic. I think it's a new thing for HMRC to contract out. I have never heard of their doing it in other areas of tax law so I am sure they will be crawling all over the Concentrix contract to see if it's being abused by stopping tax credits without good grounds to make their contract fees based on how many people they stop claiming.

shoepolish · 18/05/2015 21:39

Bricky, I would explain it when you send it because if they query it, it will hold things up.

Can you show that you pay all the bills and all utilities etc are in your name? Is your tenancy/mortgage in both your names? This would (I think) make it easier to explain why he has things registered to your address.

I'm not sure what you mean by transferring money back and forth - does he put money in your account and you draw it out to use, or do you transfer it back to his account?

All you can do is send in everything you can that will show that you pay all bills and everything is in your name and write a cover letter explaining anything they may view as suspicious. If they have an explanation it will be easier.

izzy76 · 18/05/2015 21:43

I have too got the letter today and was bricking it ive been a single mum for 8 years and not in a relationship (im staying single) they said i have someone living me tho i aint ive just recently had a stroke and this has caused me to be crying all day till i decided to google it and came accross this thread, i can provide the bank statments but i dont get a waterbill or gas nore electric bills as they are all prepay so dont know what to do,The strange thing is since Jan ive been getting letters sent here (including a bailiff) for someone i dont know ive been sending them all back saying not at this address never had been.I really am scared that they will stop my money as i can barley live as it is,Any advice would be fantastic as this stress will make me more ill tia x

shoepolish · 18/05/2015 21:44

Admiral what a terrible situation, I hope you are ok. I can't believe the contract was based on how many claims they stopped. This is why they are making things up as they go along changing the rules, so whatever you prove to them they just want more, different, proof. Eventually we'll run out of proof and then they'll stop the claim. Just unbelievable.

emilou123 · 18/05/2015 22:55

I received my letter from Concentrix on Saturday and thank goodness I read this thread! I have been divorced and living alone with my two children for 8 years. Same standard letter saying that they have information that I live in partnership etc. I phoned them and low and behold the system was down. My first advisor gave hypothetical reasons as to why I have been "flagged up", saying that it could be a previous resident, in which case I would have to provide evidence of that persons current address!!!!Panic set in as I know the previous owner moved to Pakistan. I asked to speak to a manager and expressed my concern at this unreasonable request. He said that it could be someone has used my address to set up an online account but stressed that he could not tell me due to DPA. I called back today to see if the system is running and it was. The advisor straightaway gave me the name of the other supposed person living with me.....a total contradiction from yesterday, so is he breaching DPA, or were yesterdays advisors lying? Well....I am accused of making a fraudulant single claim because...I am living in partnership with myself!!!! Yes, he quoted my maiden name that I have not switched back too as I wanted to keep the same name as my children. I am livid! The advisor said that their system is not set up to check things like this. He spoke to his senior management who then said that I still have to send all of the documents stated on the letter and it will go to a decision panel!! However, as I stated, none of the documents that they requested would have stated what my maiden name is so would not have proved my innocence. So I am now having to add to my long list of documents, ie, marriage certificate with my maiden name on that I have paid 23 pounds on for an express delivery tonight. I urge everyone involved in this scandal to post on this thread, write to their local mp, as I did tonight, and put in claims to concentrix. I have also written a complaint to HMCR and emailed LBC in the hope that the radio station will highight it. Thanks everyone for keeping me relatively sane so far!

Bricky249wife · 19/05/2015 07:46

Shoepolish - everything is in my name tenancy utilities and bills it all comes out of my bank account.

With the transfers he gets paid weekly and on a Friday he will come back to the area and stay with his mum most of time and see the children but if he finishes work late and the travel back he doesn't get to his mum's til evening so he will transfer money to my account and I will get it out in cash for him and he gets it when he sees children. Or if he's lent me money I will transfer it to him in the week etc. It's not every week haven't done it for a while I am just worried cos they want a years worth of statements and there will be a fair few of transfers and I don't know if it makes a difference?

Morgan97 · 19/05/2015 08:22

Maidofkent,I received my letter from HMRC and have only dealt with their Preston office. None of them have a clue what's going on IMO.yes emilou, they do tell lies they also tell single claimants like to to make joint claims with the person who's house you share then they hang up the phone when you query it but they forget they've given you their name at the start of the the convo. Ladies please get names when you ring up makes things easier when you can quote what you've been told.izzy get your mp involved or go to the CAB they helped me with food parcels and my mp wrote HMRC a letter then they sent me a mandatory reconsideration form. Bricky just send what you have with a covering letter explaining the situation. Fingers crossed for you all this gets sorted, ive lost nearly a stone in weight cos of the stress n lack of prper meals.

AdmiralCLingus · 19/05/2015 10:05

maid I've been dealing directly with HMRC from the start, my letter was from them not concentrix so it doesnt fill me with much hope of getting my stuff back now!!!
They have EVERYTHING now, bank statements, all original tenancy agreements for the last 3 years, my original maintenance agreements, bank statements and even DDs birth certificate (although I dont know what they hope to prove with this?) so I better get it all back otherwise I will be invoicing them for the replacements, along with the £15 in postage I've now paid sending stuff to them and the £30 in ink cartridges I've used printing out statements and letters!!!

I've also written a complaint letter to them and sent it to the preston office, but who knows what will come of that

Morgan97 · 19/05/2015 21:06

Admiral, don't hold your breath waiting they chop n change the rules to suit themselves. You should invoice them for everything you've spent sending the things they want. The last letter I sent to them was one of complaint, five pages long its disgusting that they can't send one reply! Quick enough to give us all deadlines aren't they?

LotusLight · 19/05/2015 21:50

Never expect to get anything you send to the state back ever and always keep copies of everything.

LotusLight · 19/05/2015 21:53

The Serious Fraud Office recently were fined £180k in March by the Information Commissioner because having promised an informant total anonymity in an important case (BAe) 5 years after the case was over some junior person at the SFO sent all the papers of one witness back to the wrong witness.

Morgan97 · 19/05/2015 22:06

Agree with you 100% Lotus, also ladies if you ring HMRC or concentrix make sure you get the name of the person you're speaking to as it helps when THEY make a mistake and deny things!!

mimz87 · 20/05/2015 14:24

Morgan97 there's a new twist in my tale! Imediately after being given 2 names (one man/woman) of whom they had some connection with my address i've recieved two bits of mail for the woman's name i was given!! Now i'm not a paranoid person but it's a strange coincidence isn't it. I've never heard of this person. And one of the items of mail (opened by accident) was a flipping car log book???? What the hell is going on now... like i said i've only been here a year and a half but never had anything for this person!!! Now two things just as they tell me????

Morgan97 · 20/05/2015 14:31

How strange mimz too much of a coincidence IMO. What the hell are they playing at. Get in touch with who sent the letter you've opened and tell them that the person doesn't live at your address n ask how they got your address in the first place!! A log book is an important document someone somewhere must know something. Incidentally I've just tracked my mandatory reconsideration form, posted on the 13th may received on 14th may signed for by the same person that signed for two of my letters. Please get in touch with the sender of the log book they might be able to shed some light I'm intrigued now. Mind you nothing surprises me these days lol you got to laugh haven't you.

mimz87 · 20/05/2015 14:40

Morgan yes i'm gonna do that now. The other thing that came through and was just bunged through the letterbox was a flipping wifi router. Coincidentally because i was waiting for one from talk talk i assumed that was it and only opened the box last night, mad isn't it. Anyway i'll keep you posted. And now you know they've recieved it give it a few days and start nagging them if i was you

Morgan97 · 20/05/2015 14:45

Mimz ive sent em five letters the last one was headed COMPLAINT,they've all been received n signed for too n they know i know they've been signed for cos I've told them but they still haven't had the decency to reply. My mp told me it takes up to 42 days to reach a decision on mandatory thingys so I'm waiting n waiting. Yes let me know if you get a satisfactory answer if I had any money I'd bet you don't ha ha.

LotusLight · 20/05/2015 14:48

mim, sounds like identity theft and I would contact the wifi sender and DVLA in writing and by phone.

Morgan97 · 20/05/2015 14:50

N also contact hrmc too, something fishy going on here I think.

Morgan97 · 20/05/2015 14:51

HMRC I mean sorry
