A letter from Concentrix oh behalf of HM REVENUE

Hello please help if you can , I am worried sick , I got a letter from the above , the letter states We need to talk to you about whether you are living with a partner , I claim tax credit as a single person , they are saying that they have evidence that there may be another ault living with me , I do have a bf whom stays 3 days a week , they wish me to call , and are asking in the letter for Bills, tent from 06 April 2014 to Jan 2015 , scared they are going to horrible on the phone not sure what to make if it , feel sick , any tips or help would be great thank you

I received a letter yesterday accusing me of having another adult living with me and demanding bank statements and bills for the year. Also asking for child maintenance letters. If I can't prove that I live alone with my 2 children(I've been single for 3 years and no joint finances) my tax credits will be stopped on the 29th May.
I've not had a chance to phone them yet but not happy.

One of the reasons I phoned was that the letter asked for me to respond and send them all of the information by the 29th April even though the letter was dated the 30th April! And I have only just received this. When I phoned up I was told that their system shows that I have to respond by the 29th May.

I've been reading through the posts and I feel even more sick with worry than before.

Oh my maidofkent that's awful,did they make a decision on your claim. How incompetent are they? The guy from the bbc is gathering evidence about this not heard anything yet. I just can't let this go I'm in a desperate situation trying to juggle my wages from my part time job n child benefit to feed clothe and pay bills I just can't do it. Getting further n further into debt and may have to leave my home I'm in tears every night it's awful.

Lynb was just wondering who told you just to write a letter about the mortgage? Was just wondering if it was concentrix, as I've said before people's lives are not black and white like these lot seem to think, the letters keep on coming.... Let's hope the idiots are voted out today!!

This is my third time being investigated. Once cos they claimed me and exDH where living together, I sent them court papers, custody papers, divorce papers, bank statements, everything I could get my hands on. And to make it more confusing my exDH lives 200 miles away!
Now I'm beginning investigated in regards to childcare costs. I know it will all be fine in the end but I just can't be doing with the stress, headache, time wasting, money wasting and accusatory tone of the letter.

And when they say "We think that your payments might be wrong." Do they mean this and where do they get their information from? My payments aren't wrong but they won't tell me why they believe otherwise.

This thread is getting worse more n more of us are being forced into poverty through no fault of our own,tax credits haven't got a clue what they're doing. Please all try not to stress too much,not an east thing to say I've been stressing for five weeks now with hardly any money to live on but being stressed isn't the answer we all should pull together on this support each other and DON'T let them win. I've said before n will say again I've read a site called tax credit casualties n they say tax credits play some sort of waiting game to see who breaks first well it AIN'T going to me big hugs to you all

Kittykat60 I did phone up Concentrix and spoke with someone who suggested that I write a letter about the mortgage. However when I asked if I could address the letter to her she said that it doesn't work like that and it won't go to her directly. I will make reference to our telephone conversation though.

Has anyone replied and sent some documents but not everything and not had any problems with this?

I too had a letter from them on 1 May advising they don't believe that I am single actually totally insulted by this as have always worked and raised my child alone she has almost finished school and I have never had a penny off her "father" . I wish I was in a relationship and had someone to pay the bills and to cry to when things like this happen but no we lone parents cry to ourselves as we don't want our children to see us upset. Hugely insulted that these people can make false accusations without telling us the where the information is from. Now my bank statements and all the other documents they have requested are God knows where being read by God knows who.Meanwhile I'm bursting into tears and having panic attacks while I wait for their response trying not to have a breakdown while my daughter does her a-level exams (nice timing for this bombshell)

Well both my complaint letters have been received & show signed for on Royal Mails website. How long before anything positive happens now is anyone's guess. All I'd like is my bank statements, bills & certificates returned to me as promised, I won't be holding my breath for an appology or any kind of explanation.
My award didn't get changed, I only found this out during one of my many phone calls. No surprise there, my ex (who was named in the original letter) hasn't lived here in over 10 years! I'm still none the wiser as to what 'evidence' they had to prove otherwise after all this time.

I've lived alone for 9 years feel like an easy target for these pen pushers they know we need the money which we are entitled to so we have to comply with what feels like their almost illegal demands. Are their staff crb checked ?

Lynn you do right to mention the name of anyone you've spoken to that way any mistakes they make should be sorted.in answer to your question when I first got my letter I rang and discussed my situation they told me to send receipts and a covering letter but not bank statements so that's what I did then i rang them again n was told yes send them. Might be best to ring n find out what they want,get the name of who you speak to n quote them in your covering letter.

Phoenix I know what you mean about crying ourselves to sleep, it's awful im trying to be upbeat in front of my dd but I'm not going to upset her by seeing me cry. She's in bed now so now I can relax my smile n indulge in a few tears,not that crying will change anything. So frustrated by it all.

I have also just noticed in their letter they have asked for any tax credit renewals to be sent direct to them. I had already phoned up tax credits on the 22nd April to renew my claim and I thought this was sorted. Has anyone else been asked to renew their tax credit claim (on top of proving they're single) through Concentrix?

If you send in bank statements will they get funny if you black out some entries. As others have mentioned this is very intrusive and there are occasions like birthdays/Christmas and other occasions where things have happened and I do not think I should justify every single transaction. To be honest I am tempted to blackout everything except for the benefits I receive, the utility bills I pay and the child maintenance I receive from my ex. Has anyone else done this?

LynnB73 when I sent my bank statements I didn't blank anything except part of my account number and part of my sort code,also my name and address I left the last four numbers on both....they would have seen everything that goes in and out of my account... I had a payment from my sister to help me out buying a ticket to go see my dad which I wrote on the statement,still wasn't enough to keep my tax credits though. Who knows what they're doing or thinking they just don't care

To be honest I'm really struggling to find my statements at the moment - definitely can't find 12 months' worth. Maybe the last couple of months! And I can't find the utility bills/letters! If I have to prove I'm single surely the decree absolute is enough along with letters from the Solicitors?

Lynb73 we're all in the same boat honey. I don't have 12 months worth either so I've sent the last 3 and I told them that's what I was doing. I had one cheeky cow ask if 'i trusted' anyone else to print them all out. R they for real. Anyway apparently this letter accusing us all of having a partner is just a standard letter they're sending. I was literally told that when I challenged the accusation so they're basically fishing to see who'll bite.

Up again since 5.45 may as well not go to bed half the time , can't sleep for worry! Looks like these idiots are back in again so may as well kiss goodbye to our money one way or another. My letter asked me to send renewal to them but I'd already posted it back when I got their letter, so god knows what happens there.
I'm definitely blanking things out , end of the day why do they want to see every transaction we be made for a year! This is a total invasion of our privacy, sorry but it's not right.
Has anyone that's rang them asked what the hell they are wanting to see? Then we can happily blank out all other things.

KittyKat when I rang the second time to ask should i send bank statements they said they wanted 3months worth when I asked why they hung up I rang back twice asked the same thing n got cut off they haven't got a clue why they want anything IMO they don't care what's happening to us.

It's a disgrace Morgan, I can't believe they are getting away with demanding all our private information and no clear answers as to why, then just making wild assumptions and stopping parents money they rely on to support their children, it's a good point what Phoenix made, are these people crb checked? Our info could be falling into anyone's hands. Think things are only going to get worse .

It worries me that nothing was returned to me except photos I took of our living arrangement. Where has it all gone? They've had it now for nearly three months! I didn't think to block out account numbers etc, so ANYONE could have all my bank details!!!

I've no idea if they're crb checked KittyKat,maybe it's a question we should be asking. My life has been put on hold by someone who doesn't even know me n that makes me so angry. Admiral did you ask where your stuff is when you wrote to them? Maybe I should have sent them a pic where I sleep at night...with my dd in her single bed!! Didn't think of that think ill take some pics and send them oh no I can't cos i don't have the money spare to get them developed. Absolute joke

Same here Admiral. Had all my documents since January & nothing returned to me. No-one can give me an answer as to where it may have ended up. All those bank statements, bills & certificates, could be passing around who knows where as I write this. It's frightening to say the least.

I honestly don't know how you are all coping with no money apart from your wages, it's right Morgan these people don't live our lives, so they look at our information then they decide our future! So much for innocent until proven guilty, it's a farce! Knowing what I know now unfortunately because the likes of all these poor mothers suffering I'm putting off posting them anything , we shouldn't be feeling like this especially with our children's exams looming.
