Hi Morgan yes at the minute but it said in the letter I had to send my renewal to them as well, I'd actually just posted that back to tax credits that morning, so hope they don't make that an excuse, seems to me no matter what you say it depends on how they perceive your situation,
I don't understand how child tax credits can be stopped though, surely your still entitled to that.
I think if they are putting people through this the least they can do is do it quickly so people aren't ill with the stress of it all.

Morgan97 · 01/05/2015 18:46

They're saying I'm not single that's why they've stopped my payments,I don't know what else I can send them. They're the most incompetent scum I've ever come across, they don't care about my life. They don't reply to my letters all send by recorded delivery so I know they've received them. I've done everything they've asked me to do. It's a living nightmare n I wanna wake up its taking over my life.

Kittykat60 · 01/05/2015 19:08

I feel so sorry for you Morgan it's an utter disgrace, can you set up an appeal?
Surely though the child's money can't be stopped? Have you tried your mp Morgan ? It doesn't seem right that people in some office somewhere can make assumptions about people's relationships or non relationships.

mimz87 · 01/05/2015 19:10

Morgan97 I suggest you book an appointment with a local solicitor (tell them you want a free consultation to begin with, after all you may even be covered by legal aid). Tell the solicitor everything, after all like its been stated in this thread a number of times, it IS for them to prove you're in a couple situation not for you to. The solicitor may even write a letter on your behalf, i've been in a similar situ besides this one and it worked for me. Threaten them with a bit of legal action and they sit up. Don't bother sending any more letters yourself, they're obviously to ignorant to respond.

Morgan97 · 01/05/2015 19:36

Thank you mimz87,ill try anything to be honest. I've been looking at a website called tax credit casualties n they reckon tax credits play some sort of mind game called lets see who gives up first or words to that effect. It's an informative read trust me I've read it over n over just in case I missed some. I've a friend in a similar situation who I got talking to on this thread and having her and everyone on here to bleat to makes this awful situation a bit bearable

mimz87 · 01/05/2015 19:42

I know exactly what you mean Morgan97, tbh i was crapping myself when i first got It and like someone else said I honestly thought i'd been singled out but they told me in no uncertain terms that these letters were going out to ALL single claiments whether they be WTC or CTC so we've gotta to stick together. Beleive me I was up til 5 this morning reading every single person's blog on here and it incensed me sooo much that I joined mumsnet to say my piece. These people don't live in the real world, they don't realise we rely on this to feed our kids and get through the week. God if most of us had a man earning a decent wage we wouldn't care so much and tell them to shove it eh.

Kittykat60 · 01/05/2015 20:38

Mimz87 that was me last night, took me ages to read everyone's comments and that really upset me to think of all of us ( and obviously thousands more) being put in this stressful situation for weeks on end not knowing if we will be able to live in a few weeks time,
And how many poor mums like Morgan that have been left in a desperate situation with children to look after. They are a disgrace.

mimz87 · 01/05/2015 20:43

Kittykat 60, i am sick and tired of this government hiring 2nd class idiots to carry out these assessments. I'm also disabled and its just another example of trying to accumulate money from those of us on benefits. If you claim anything you're made to feel like a criminal. I'm also disabled and it wasn't so long ago they had Atos dealing with that side of things. What a fuck up that was aswell.

Kittykat60 · 01/05/2015 21:08

That's a disgrace mimz87! They should be totally ashamed of what they are doing, I hope to god this ends their reign in government .
We do all need to stick together we should start a petition to end this bloody harassment.

mimz87 · 01/05/2015 21:37

I agree Kittykat60, really i though of contacting that BBC guy who was asking on here. I know the Independent newspaper printed that article but other than that this company seems unheard of other than us poor mums etc who are getting blatently bulied.

Kittykat60 · 01/05/2015 21:54

Well count me in mimz87, I think we all have enough on our plates without having to sort out all this ridiculous information which doesn't prove anything at all,
We could be handing our information to anyone and why do they want to study our every transaction for a bloody year it's a disgrace to our privacy!

mimz87 · 01/05/2015 21:59

Don't know if you read my earlier post Kittykat60, but i was actually told today when complaining that i was unhappy about them scrutinising every payment i made out and that it was personal and was told, oh don't worry we haven't the manpower for that????!!!! I said to her glad you told me, and then reminded her that the call was recorded. She went a bit quiet after that.

Kittykat60 · 01/05/2015 22:23

Well if they haven't got the manpower for that why are they requesting a full years bank statements mimz87? Good on you to question them, they are just obviously just trying to piss us all off( sorry for the language) n make things a bit difficult for us, I might block out any transfers on there from me to family members or from them to me as it shows account numbers n sort codes, and why do they want all our bank accounts not just the ones with our payments going in and direct debits going out, if we have any savings accounts what has that got to do with them, I'm getting more mad the more I think about it all.

Morgan97 · 01/05/2015 22:25

Well it's been an interesting read since this thread picked up,when I rang tax credits about this the guy I spoke to told me to make a joint claim with the other adult who's house I share, when I asked so you're telling me to lie then the line went dead.... Think he forgot that I'd asked for his name at the start of the call. KittyKat a petition sounds like a good start. A lot on here have had no change to their award which is good but there's loads like me who've had there claim stopped. They're deliberately targeting single claimants and using bullying tactics to frighten us all. I can't believe it's come to me being in a position to choose buying bread or toilet roll. Disgraceful situation caused by greedy politicians who need to walk in our shoes for a day. Sorry rant over.

Kittykat60 · 01/05/2015 22:48

Well done Morgan for saying that to them cos basically that's what they are telling people to do, other than what we give them how else can anyone prove their not guilty of their accusations, if we don't fit into their boxes we are guilty? FFs! It's 2015! People do have other people's mail sent to their addresses sometimes, ex s do still pay bills and keep their names on mortgages, these clowns need to live in the real world.
I'm up for fighting this even if my award is unchanged , I think we all need to do it for the likes of you Morgan who have been shit on from a great height. It could be anyone of us in your shoes, looks like luck of the sodden draw.

Morgan97 · 01/05/2015 23:00

Thank you KittyKat though I'm not sure what else to do or who to turn to to be honest, my situation is slightly different to others I DO share a house with another adult. But we are NOT a couple and he is NOT the father of my dd,yes couples can live in the same house and be single cept tax credits don't see it that way,in their eyes if you live in a house with another adult then you MUST be in a relationship FFS really?? So tired of this dreadful struggle it's doing my head in. I never realised I was so patient but maybe ill get a reply from tax credits won't hold my breath though.

mimz87 · 01/05/2015 23:18

Kittykat60 I read what u said about blocking out transfers. I haven't posted mine yet I'm in no rush but it's ready to go probably Tuesday but I've left out entire pages that they might question me about. I had quite a bit of doe go in b4 Xmas for the kids from their gran and I'm certainly not putting myself in the position where I have to justify that!!! Sod them. If they haven't the time and manpower they won't notice!!

Kittykat60 · 01/05/2015 23:45

I think I may do the same mimz87, I've got stuff from Xmas as well from family for my sons and also payments for a holiday last year that they may question , it would help if we bloody knew what the hell they were wanting to see,
My situation isn't straightforward Morgan so I'm expecting the worst as well, I'm on my second day now of being totally stressed out n probably many more days to come.

mimz87 · 02/05/2015 00:00

Kittykat60 I'll be honest I had a situation where the dwp wanted me and my long term boyfriend to live together and claim together just cos I'm disabled and sometimes need him as I can't get out much. They basically said he lives here.He lives in his own place 10 mins down the road and they wanted him to claim as my carer. We're quite happy with the way things are. We've been together 9 years but both like our space and my son's are both teenagers so they help a lot. Anyway they went as far as to actually stop both our benefits which included housing benefit for both our flats and it was 3weeks b4 Xmas. Anyway this is where I sought legal advice like I was saying to Morgan and they had no choice but to reinstate. U can't be forced to live together same as you can't be accused. I did mention to these dickheads that I'd had something similar before and it had been proven I lived alone. But they just waffled on about this just being a routine check for all single claimants. It's total crap. So Morgan67 I do know exactly what you're going through just don't let the bastards win.

emmajayne1985 · 02/05/2015 00:12

I spoke to them today as I called tax credits regarding my renewal and they told me to call concentrix I was told by them the at I had a letter due out investigating my childcare for last year. The thing is I was on maternity leave last year and I told them that so why would there be a childcare element in my tax credits? If I am on mat leave I am not working and therefore don't qualify for childcare costs?

I haven't received my letter yet but I am thinking of calling them back asap and trying to clear it up sooner rather than later because it's worrying me but I know I told them I was on mat leave as I had an obvious income change plus added the baby to the claim it makes no sense

mimz87 · 02/05/2015 00:17

Emmajayne1985 u might aswell start sorting out your paperwork cos no doubt they're gonna ask for your life history same as the rest of us on here. I know it's no help but try not to worry just play it by ear at this stage.

emmajayne1985 · 02/05/2015 00:24

All I have to show them is that I was on mat leave, I went back to work part time in October and put my baby in nursery but as I wasn't sure I was going to stay working I left childcare costs out so if anything I thought I was down money if that makes sense. I work for dwp so I know they can pull recorded calls so I might suggest they pull the call I made when I reported the change I don't know how else to prove it

mimz87 · 02/05/2015 00:28

Emmajayne1985 that's probably your best bet then. I always take names, times etc whenever I'm talking to anyone about this kind of thing as I've asked people to retrieve past conversations aswell.

emmajayne1985 · 02/05/2015 00:31

If they have been paying a childcare element despite me reporting I was on mat leave whose fault is that? What do I do then?

Kittykat60 · 02/05/2015 00:33

Oh my god mimz87 that's a similar situation as Morgan trying to push you into a joint claim! But to stop both your benefits that's a distrusting trick! How the hell are these people getting away with playing god in people's lives, it's beyond me, I know I'm not going to get an easy ride of it as my ex s name is on my mortgage n he has a lot of input due to my child having disability problems, he works away a lot but helps here where he can so no doubt they ll put it all together n come to their own stupid conclusion, it would cause me to loose our home if my tax credits were stopped , I wish this nightmare was over.
