A letter from Concentrix oh behalf of HM REVENUE

Hello please help if you can , I am worried sick , I got a letter from the above , the letter states We need to talk to you about whether you are living with a partner , I claim tax credit as a single person , they are saying that they have evidence that there may be another ault living with me , I do have a bf whom stays 3 days a week , they wish me to call , and are asking in the letter for Bills, tent from 06 April 2014 to Jan 2015 , scared they are going to horrible on the phone not sure what to make if it , feel sick , any tips or help would be great thank you

Just to add to the HMRC statement on this thread and the responses already received by a number of contributors. Pen01 you are right it is completely patronising.
These are 'Accusations' not simple checks as implied. They are currently being targeted at single people...who knows where it will go from here. It would be interesting to know if these accusations only involve women 'deemed to be living with a man' or a 'man living with a woman'. Has anyone been asked if they, as a woman, are in a relationship with another woman, for example. Maybe HMRC don't realise this does happen!...or perhaps that's not PC.

The referral to that pathetic piece on the .Gov.uk website, which contains no real information, no address, no telephone - implies that if you get a call from someone saying they are Concentrix you have to give them all your information. How long before the scammers are making these calls...or easily forging these printed out letters and having you send it to as different address? So as it has been pointed out previously, no real weight is placed on security of your information.

Most people know that these methods of sanctioning claimants have been used for sometime but usually internally by government staff who have to meet 'money saving targets'. This is the first time to my knowledge this has been undertaken by a private company. This is NEWS.....and yet nothing....Not even a 'paragraph on page 23 of a tabloid'. So why? Logic says there is some sort of gag order in place...or even a DA notice. God forbid that as it means that this is a threat to national security and involves much more than us 'ordinary people' know about. It all seems far-fetched but something is being covered up.

We know that the HMRC contract was sub-contracted but it is not clear to whom. Concentrix staff themselves believe it to the US Corporation but they don't know, and of course the reality is that it's a secret.
Why issue a statement on this thread ONLY, it seems. Why not issue a public statement? Is Mums.net a threat? Will it be censored?

I do hope that HMRC are continuing to read the many comments here and provide something more substantial and give people the answers they deserve.

Been reading this thread with interest,everyone has a different story to tell myself included but has anyone had the same situation as me,living in someone else's house with them but not in a relationship with them,not paying rent but contributing to the bills and paying council tax so don't have utility bills in my name I get a receipt each month for what I pay ,I pay for food toiletries and clothes for me and my daughter,seperate food cupboards etc. explained this when I rang was told to send the receipts in which I have along with a covering letter. I've read this thread from start to finish but most have sent in bank statements which I have and utility bills which I don't,can anyone put my mind at rest,I only sent my receipts off on Tuesday and already worried sick.

Surely it is not right for any government department to accuse a wide range of people of fraud and that's what these letters have done .leaving innocent people with weeks and weeks of worry .we don't seem to have any human rights just because we claim what we are entitled to from the government .whatever the outcome for each and every one of us i think we still need to stay United over this and stand up somehow for the human rights that we all do have .someone .somewhere must see that and let's as a United group get our message across .any suggestions ?

Hi Morgan .you can only send what you have .we are all worried sick and although advice is not to be we still are .hopefully everything you have sent will be enough for them and everything will be okay .just keep thinking to yourself you have done nothing wrong and nobody can change that .nobody can put a partner in your life that just isn't there .good luck .

Thank you ccbb1,I would love to become involved in some sort of group that could stand up to situations like this,it's so unfair,my letter stated I was living with another adult yet when I rang they said it wasn't the fact another adult lived at the same address it was weather I could prove I was financially independent,so why didn't the letter say that? Many of the ladies on here have sent things off and had them returned with a letter stating no decision has been made,so more time worrying. These letters are worded in a way that they seem to be accusing yet we cannot say anything. It's crazy.

Well the postman has been - no flowers, no chocolates not even a card. This partner I'm supposed to have needs to up his game else he's getting dumped!

Morgan I going to think really hard about sorting out a group of some sort at least we can give real support to one another and secondly hopefully find ways of stopping government agencies treating innocent people in this way at least Iif not now but in the future too .if any one on here has any suggestions please as I for one do not wish to find myself in this situation in two or three years time again

Has anyone else not received back everything that was sent to Concentrix? They seem to have lost one set of bank account statements from the account that I use as my business account. They are meant to be ringing me back when they find out what has become of them.

Ccbb1 a support group sounds like a good idea,coming on here and reading everyone's stories has stopped me going crazy with worry but the worry is still there,I can't seem to think bout anything else and i was in the same situation three years ago. These people are using bullying tactics and badly worded letters to cause unnecessary stress to people who aren't doing anything wrong yes of course there are some who abuse the system but a little commensense wouldn't go amiss. I have a fair amount of time on my hands and will have a look into what can be done to get a support group together that's able to to things for others on their behalf ie making phone calls,writing to mps etc. I know from what I've read on here that a lot of us get flustered on the phone like you said in your last post any ideas ladies and gents(yes there are a few in the same situation) if we stick together maybe we can ease the stress that this causes.

I split from from my wife years ago but still use address for lots of stuff but i changed my name years ago as terrorists tried to abduct me first and then when they could not do that they shot into my home through the kitchen window at almost point blank ranch but just missed my head, but shot my friend in the back. My wife could not handle the affects of PTSD i have suffered for years, and when my attempted killers got out of jail i could not cope and have been deliberately kept away. I dread this information being in the hands of some money making system.

Hello it seems we are all upset still , well I got my statement etc back after two weeks of sending the information they wanted and a letter saying that all is in order and I don't need to change my claim , the pressure has left me now , I can sleep at night again , please please don't worry ( rich coming from me ) if you can't get your paper work together phone them they give you more time , just let them know , I did find them helpful on the phone , thank you to everyone that had replied , it made me feel better that I was not going through with it by myself , I now tell everybody about this site and the help you get is amazing , I wish everybody in the same problem as me gets their letters and paper work back quick to , I hope to hear and see some good news from you all x

I would defiantly join,desperately looking for more work at the moment so I can com off this benefit.ironic really that this benefit was set up to help people who help themselves and keep us of the unemployment registars,as let's face it with the low wages in this country employers are allowed to get away with none of us could work without this top up money.

On Friday 13th Feb 2015 (what a day to receive a letter like this) regarding another Adult living with me never stated who so i called them up got a really nice lady i asked her what evidence did they have as im a little confused, she replied i have been flagged up at low risk also it is not a tip off just my file shows i have a few adults registered at my address. So i asked what are their names she replied i can not confirm them maybe its the old tenants so i said well i know one name as i still get post here for him i stated his name she replied yes he is one on the list :/. So because old tenants have decided not to change their address with banks or credit cards after a year & a half i get this letter making me feel like a crimial :/. Not right really they should enquiry with the Council not myself 2 check voting list which they are not on! So got to wait 10 days for an outcome! Stress is not the word! But if it comes back they live here i will laugh as i will look like some kind of man whore lol its just me, my Daughter & my white beautiful cat unless his the male lol god u got to laugh or u will cry :).

sooooo im not the only one who got his letter got it on friday 13th and called up and explained i have a partner of sorts who doesn't even sleep over and tada this is about certain ex tenants who's bank statements and poll cards still come to my address after 3 years!!! landlord couldnt care less whos mail goes where so im off to visit council to request aid in screwing them over 3 days of panic attacks and no eating haha now i just feel dumb _ this site really helped and fingers crossed we all see a good result!!

Its a joke they should check with the council or landlord regarding old tentants noy us :/. Well sent all the docs now just got to wait this is Day 1 & 9 more to go lol wen this could be sorted over the phone!

They have no evidence,it's just a scare tactic to try and catch people out.When I asked if they could prove their evidence,they couldn't.Am glad I found this site,as it's just reassured me that we are all being targeted because they can.Bet the rich,corrupt bankers and govt members don't have to go through this!! Hope there is a happy ending for us all.Happy New year eh?

i also asked them who i was living with then and all they could say was maybe it is one of your grown up children , if it is my son he is the one named on my tax credit claim or it maybe a previous tenant which is possible as i still get letters for previous occupants from financial organisations, to add insult to injury i no longer get and tax credits as my son has left here and college and hmrc knew that on the day he left !

Well I sent my stuff off a week ago so obviously not heard anything yet,the worry is making me sick and I'm annoyed at myself for worrying so much,made me more determined to try and find out how to start a support group of some sort. Coming on here and seeing similar stories has been a godsend thank you all for sharing x

I am at the same stage as you, sent my paperwork a week ago (had to send in 2 batches as I have 3 bank accounts and I only have statements for 2, had to order the last batch) and noticed from my recorded delivery reference number that they were both received on Monday this week.

I own my house (well half of it, the bank owns the other), I do have a BF but he has his own place. All bills etc are in my name, when I rang and asked who they thought was living here, the man wouldn't tell me.
He did say it could be previous residents (which happens to be my dad), or just people linked to my house.

He then said that they scan all my documents and keep them on file so that they have a permanent record, has anyone else been told they scan the paperwork and keep on file? Im not happy about this seeing as some people on here have said concentrix are a multi national marketing company.

Has anyone noticed there has been a small bit of coverage on universal credits which is launching throughout the country very soon, big news id say!
I am thinking they are checking everyone before they are moved onto universal credits as noticed on another feed self employed people are also being targeted?

What I can't understand is that they can say they have evidence that a partner might be living with us, but they won't say who because of data protection. Exactly who are they protecting? Not us!

It's like being arrested and accused of a crime but the police won't tell you what crime you're supposed to have committed. It's bizarre.

Forgot to mention....
When i went to the post office to send my 2nd batch, there was a lady (heavily pregnant with 2 kids, poor girl) crouched on the floor stuffing documents into a large envelope, i noticed she had the same letter as me and then the lady that served me in the post office said she had received a letter from concentrix and that there had been loads of post for them recently.

HMRC can take as long as eight weeks before opening some post.....
