Dear HMRC:
What I want to say to Louise Boyle, HMRC - hope she reads my thread!. Dear HMRC how dare you patronise us by attempting to explain the situation to us as if we are all idiots!. You need to read all the threads and what's been happening - most of the information Concentrix is obtaining is totally incorrect, if indeed they have any at all and you are not simply trying to stop overpayments: you are using a corporate organisation which is a part of Synnex (an international company with a mega turnover I believe) at a substantial contract value of 75million (with undisclosed commission - dodgy!), who are proving to be totally incompetent it seems, to request highly confidential information and to bully those, many of whom are often not in a position to fight back or have much clout in society, with a very nasty worded letter, in the hope you will hit upon some who are fraudulent. What right does a private company have to our personal information - your contract terms weighted security of information as very low priority/percentage. Why?

Perhaps you could put more effort and money into the HSBC debacle where you really could claim back some taxes of substantial financial worth to the country! Claims targeted are selected from information from HMRC and third parties you say!! Really?!! How come Concentrix named my 18 yr old son in your nasty little standard letter then as being my partner!!! Your HMRC tax credit dept confirmed they had the correct information about my son when I phoned them and that they shared a database with Concentrix. Answer that one? It took me 3 hours before I finally got through on the phone to Concentrix and thank goodness my case was identified as in error, an apology on the phone given and the case closed. Perhaps I should invoice you for my time and stress and upset you caused me that day! However, I so feel for those who are still waiting to hear and am so very angry on their behalf and mine.

And a message to 'youwantsome'. The letters are intimidating and frightening and upsetting to many, particularly when you rely on tax credits to survive financially. A little empathy wouldn't go amiss!

Also a message to 'indigo65' - you're right, Big Brother is watching us. Concentrix got my son's name I believe from the gov. website when he ordered his driving theory test online and as he is living at my address, his name flagged up!! Buyer Beware!!

As said before, I've tried to highlight this issue to the media but noone wants to know.

Rant over!!!

Good luck to all on this site.

Here here pen01.well said typical of this govt pick on the weakest.they don't realise the stress this puts on already pushed to the limit single parents.on their heads be it if this circus pushes someone to far.im a strong person and have found this month one of the most stressful and worrying times I have been through so I dread to think how it is affecting people who are in a worse place than me.thank god for this thread giving people the chance to talk to others in the same position.

Morgan97 · 11/02/2015 19:59

Hi Pepsi 123,the fact they need another ten days to make a decision is crazy isn't it. The man who I spoke to on Monday told me to send my bank statements until I pointed out that nothing was paid from my bank as I pay the same amount of money which goes towards bills and council tax in cash each month and get a receipt,so I've sent at least 7 months worth as that was all I could find. So I've done that and now have to wait n worry until I hear something,I'm pleased you at least heard something after 2 weeks, they don't seem to be very helpful do they. I understand what you mean about not being able to live a normal life,I know if they stop my tax credits I won't have a home and that worries me so much keep us all posted when you hear your outcome x

pepsi123 · 11/02/2015 20:02

I will Morgan.hopefully will be this week !!!

pepsi123 · 11/02/2015 20:08

I think they want your bank statements to check what financial help you get if any.Very invasive and their rules are so confusing 1) You can live with another adult as long as you are not partners 2) Their definition of partner is so confusing do you have children together, are you financially dependent on each other,do you go out anywhere together,do you eat together,do each other's washing blah blah blah.so basically you can live with someone as long as you have no interaction with them at all.seriously

Morgan97 · 11/02/2015 20:44

Ha ha Pepsi123,it's exactly how you say,Me and my daughter live in a house with another adult, separate food cuboards, separate laundry baskets separate everything,I'll be too scared to say good morning soon in cast that means we are in a relationship complete madness isn't it. And as for wanting my bank statements to see what help I get they already know that cos the only help I get is from them.

Karo3161 · 11/02/2015 21:54

If many of us had known we would have to account for our spending then I for one would have arranged my finances differently. Household bills have remained in my mum's name, and, as she doesn't like using atms, I've given her a cash payment each month to cover my half of these - so all I can prove is a cash withdrawal of the same amount at about the same time each month. Child Tax Credit has always been about income why have the rules been altered to say we have to prove expenditure? When I told them, years ago, of my household set up no one said you better be able to prove what you contribute (fortunately I do pay the mortgage from my account) else we're accusing you of fraud!

Morgan97 · 11/02/2015 22:19

Karo 3161 I totally agree with you,two years ago I had a similar letter asking me to ring as they had evidence another adult living at the same address,I rang explained my situation and was asked to supply evidence I was financially independent,I had no utility bills in my name only monthly receipts for my share in utility bills and council tax, note to self, set up a direct debit to pay this and get receipts to support this. When I rang on Monday I told them this had happened before and even gave them the persons name who dealt with it at the time,no response there what a surprise,so unfair on us single mums and dads who are trying to provide a decent life for our children.

EternalBeauPlate · 11/02/2015 22:59

I had a letter too.
It's caused me weeks of anxiety.
Sent the information back but had no reply yet.

indigo65 · 12/02/2015 05:40

Well said Pen01.When I asked to speak.to the manager, they said they didn't have one!I kept on and she told me his name was Guy,Guy who, can't tell you as that's breaching confidentiality!!Farsical...They want all our info apart from our clothes size but don't have the courtesy to behave in a professional manner to help people who are genuinely worried and are decent ,honest citizens trying to survive.I really hope the media gets hold of this and the worm turns,as I for one have had a few sleepless nights worrying over this for the sake of my family.Louise Boyle is named on the bottom header of the letter, but is evasive, who.is going to search through all of our evidence',could take months!I asked for a prepaid envelope, was told no,and to reimburse me for the cost of postage which when I do send. Will eat into my weekly budget.

friendlymum67 · 12/02/2015 08:36

Like others, I have received my documents back but the same standard covering letter saying they will write to me regarding my tax credits claim. Very anxious now and trying not to read anything into the 'F' that's scribbled in pencil on the covering letter F for Fail?

I haven't lived with Ex husband to be for 10 years but divorce has been a nightmare and we still have a joint account which he pays maintenance into. Permanent knot of anxiety in my stomach Sad

friendlymum67 · 12/02/2015 08:39

Has anyone actually had a letter with a decision yet?

pepsi123 · 12/02/2015 09:00

No not yet.had paperwork back last Friday so just waiting.dread the postman coming every day but on the other hand want to know.so just a waiting game.dont know why we have to wait so long when they had our paperwork for two weeks!!!Some people have had a decision but not many I don't think.i think there's quite a backlog.

Karo3161 · 12/02/2015 09:30

Hi Friendlymum67 - It's easy to worry about hidden messages - hopefully it just means F for filing and perhaps it was accidentally written on the wrong copy. Will keep my fingers crossed for you ( and everyone else who is waiting to hear, like me.)

friendlymum67 · 12/02/2015 13:25

Karo - thanks for your reassurance. I actually have news!!

Have received a 'decision' letter today and my tax credits remain as they were! So, so relieved! I knew I had nothing to hide but like most of us on this thread, receiving the letter, providing all the documentation and then the wait has been quite stressful!

For anyone who may also be waiting for news, I only received my documents back yesterday and the final decision letter today, tho it was dated 5 February.

I hope this means letters are going out to many people and the waiting is over!

pepsi123 · 12/02/2015 16:13

Got fed up with waiting so rang them and was told letter was sent out last week and there is no change to my claim.thank god for that but if you have waited longer than a few days might be worth ringing them to put your mind at rest.good luck everybody and thanks for the support everybody on here has given me.would have been a lot harder without it xx

carley24 · 12/02/2015 17:47

Just rang also as it not nice waiting to hear news letter was sent out on 9th no change to my tax credits so happy all this waiting is over but not happy with the way they went about this! Hope its good news for the rest of you xx

EternalBeauPlate · 12/02/2015 18:04

For those that have had a reply please can you give me an idea of how many weeks later? So I can stop worrying as much if I know it will be weeks away rather than being on edge when I see the postman IYSWIM
Thanks.

pepsi123 · 12/02/2015 18:43

Waited two weeks for paperwork to be returned which was returned last Friday and rung today to see what final decision is cos got fed up waiting for letter. They told me letter was sent on 4th February(so don't know why havnt received it!!!!!!!) and there was no admendments to my claim.so took about 4 weeks in total.been a complete nightmare.

pepsi123 · 12/02/2015 18:52

Why do the letters take so long to arrive.Dont understand it

friendlymum67 · 12/02/2015 18:59

Letter that accompanied returned documents dated 4th Feb but only received yesterday. Decision letter received today dated 5th February!

SWLady01 · 12/02/2015 19:08

If you imagine how many incoming letters Concentrix have had to deal with, then I guess it's no wonder people are waiting a while to hear.

Seems like Concentrix did a couple of mailshots covering virtually everyone claiming tax credits. I'm suspecting I might not hear within even a month because I've only just sent my paperwork.

pepsi123 · 12/02/2015 19:14

Yeah that's true but don't understand why they take so long to arrive after been sent.Letter sent on 4th still not arrived lol documents sent 2nd February came back last Friday but I guess that cos they recorded deleivery.Just wondered if they sending them by pigeon or something.

Morgan97 · 12/02/2015 21:33

Pleased you had a positive reply Pepsi123 and also others,it's good to share worries and concerns like this with others going through the same things, makes the waiting a bit more bearable

Annoyed385 · 13/02/2015 15:22

Hi guys . I took pepsi's advice and gave them
A ring too ... No change to my award either . Here's a little bit of info for people as what's happened for me and my circumstances

I recived this letter dated the 10th of jan but no where near the 10th but that was my starting point . I sent in ... My mortgage statement (joint with my mum) my council tax statement (with single occupancy) a water bill , a tv licence billl , a gas and electric bill (only one ) and then a copy of my bank statements from April to January as they asked . I sent these recorded delivery and they were signed and recived on the 26th of jan .

Since then I have heard not one thing ...
I have not recived my documents back nor have I recived a letter to confirm they have them and to wait . I could not bare to wait any longer as my mortgage is soon due so I gave them a call ... They have changed the automated service now and it took me less than 2 Minuites to get through . I asked weather they have been recived and for a update . He then told me that a letter was in the post and no changes to my award have been made . Phew , relief as if some of you knew my story ive had a veryyyy long year and this was about the icing on the cake .

I have only been in my single claim under a year and have gone through this already .

However ... I really really do feel that it's just a excercise to look into the one thing they do not have access to , your bank accounts . Also to push innocent fragile people off of tax credits .
This thread has been a absolute god send at keeping a lot of us sain , so if I can help anyone with anything please just ask

I'm Goin out for a drink lol
