Hello everyone and welcome to the new thread for Round Two!

To recap, the basic rules are:
No chicklit
No abuse memoir type stuff
No horror
No hardbacks

Auto/biography is allowed as long as it?s not anything too obscure (or crap, obviously).

Chocolate to the value of about £2 each time.

Here is the list:
artifarti
aristocat
Dysgu
PistachioLemon
TheBuggerofSuburbia
stickylittlefingers
AgentProvocateur
LolaLadyBird
Itsjustafleshwound
pooter
muddleduck
LadyBee
FlyingMonkey
Maria2007
johnworf

johnworf is a new member so be nice!

As before, please email me at artifarti at hotmail dot co dot uk with the initials of your chosen book and author (e.g. ROTN by TH for Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy) so I can check there are no duplicates. I will assume all your name, address and chocolate details remain the same unless you tell me otherwise (johnworf, please send me yours)

Please do this on or before July 10th. Then I will email you all with the name of the new person you are to post the books to (we are reversing, for anyone that hasn't picked that up.)

No-one has indicated that they want to drop out so I am assuming not at the moment.
I have now read all the books so I am thinking about which was my favourite - so many good ones, a difficult choice.

AP no - sorry - i havent been sent one for two months. Its all going a bit pear shaped isn't it!

arti hope you are ok x

pooter

aristocat · 05/04/2011 13:20

Dysgu i haven't had anything from you - did you post the book you mentioned before (OD)? if you have, i didnt receive it

hope everyone is OK and books are moving Smile

Dysgu · 05/04/2011 18:46

aristocat I have 2 parcels sitting beside me right now! They will be making it into the post tomorrow so should be with you within the next few days.

Sorry, I seem to be a part of the whole 'pear-shaped' problem; the big heavy book is the one that went missing I think that had to be sent from Amazon to be a replacement. I guess that should be the one you should have had for March - I don't know who the original sender of the book was.
Then the other one, I think, is technically, the one for this month. I think it is Johnworf's book, but it has two names inside.

Sorry! Will do better... No reasons but lots of excuses...

Beyond that, I hope all are well and that other books are travelling correctly.

Dysgu · 07/04/2011 18:14

Books have not yet made it to a post box, I am afraid aristocat - I have a 'problem' about which I am going to contact artifarti in the hope that she can help me get back on track.

We are off on holiday tomorrow but I will either have heard back from arti and can get them in the post to the right place(s) tomorrow or else I will take them with me and post them from darkest Wales!

By the by - I have not received a book for April yet - but am obviously not in a position to complain!

aristocat · 07/04/2011 18:54

Dysgu well i am going to Wales on monday too Smile leave the books until you return and send them to me then if you can unless you are going for ages ....

Dysgu · 07/04/2011 22:37

Thank you arti for sorting that - glad I am not the only one messing things up!

aristocat I have had to open one of the packaged envelopes to find out what the book was - have not eaten the chocolate yet... Grin
I will package up the (many) books and send them to you when we get back - we are away until the 17th (although I have just arranged to come back early so that DD1 can go to a party! Only a day early and will be a fun ride on the train from South Wales.)

Hope you enjoy Wales - whereabouts are you heading? We are starting off in Mid-Wales and then heading south for the second part of the trip - lots of relatives to catch up with. Fingers crossed that the sun stays for a while.

Maria2007loveshersleep · 09/04/2011 10:01

Hi everyone,

I haven't come on here for aaaaaages. I was the naughty culprit that Arti mentioned; to my horror, I realised a while ago that I have three- yes that's THREE- unread books from M&M at home. I've now posted them on to Ladybee, I'm afraid with no chocolate this time (I'm really sorry for this too Ladybee, and also very sorry for being so late).

The problem is that I simply haven't been managing, time-wise, to follow the book club, so it's with regret that I'll have to pull out. I also belong to a real-life book club which has been falling behind too, so I need to cut my losses at this point, be honest with myself & prioritise what I can't & cannot do, as I had gotten to the point where the M&M books were stressing me each month (and surely that's not the point of the book club). Nor do I want to be sending books on so late, just because I haven't found the time to read them.

I do hope our paths cross again in the future, but for now as I said I'll need to call it a day :(

AgentProvocateur · 13/04/2011 18:03

Sorry to lose you, Maria - I also find it stressful when I have a pile of books that I need to read by a certain date. It becomes an obligation rather than a pleasure.

I'm off to speed read the last 100 or so pages of my RL book group book before 8pm tonight!

aristocat · 16/04/2011 18:37

Sad that you are leaving Maria and perhaps you can re-join us next time round Smile

dysgu we were in North Wales last week and have had a brilliant time. our caravan was a HUGE 8 berth with 2 bathrooms and so much storage......i tried to take less clothes than usual but have still ended up with a mountain of washing Hmm
hope you had a good time too and i am looking forward to my next book(s)
Smile

pooter · 23/04/2011 00:31

Hi everyone!
I had a huge parcel today from Ladybee - containing 5 books! I think it might be best if i send a couple on to AP straight away as it may take me some time to get through them all!

Hope you all have a good Easter - we are going to the Cotswolds for a couple of days. I havent packed or done any washing or thought about it at all, so tomorrow will be hectic - so my usual start to a holiday!

Bye for now Maria, you sound stressed - don't fret - its only a book club [busmile]

aristocat · 23/04/2011 11:32

Dragon Happy St Georges Day everyone

are there any books coming to me dysgu?

AgentProvocateur · 23/04/2011 19:12

Five books, pooter!! It might be best to PM me the titles, then I can let you know if I've read any of them - in which case they could be sent straight to SLF, and we could get the swap moving again.

Happy holidays, everyone.

chandellina · 23/04/2011 22:04

i'm waiting on a book from respectthedoughnut - though maybe it's just from the queue hold up - so have not had one to send to johnworf.

stickylittlefingers · 25/04/2011 00:10

Hello! Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend.

AP - we're now safely installed back in the UK. Are you waiting for books to be sent so you can send (am guessing this is the case from your last post). Dysgu - you've had everything from me that I've received, if that makes sense.

I'm reading a terrible book at the moment, so I need saving! I find it hard to not finish a book though. It's like waiting at bus stops - if I leave after waiting for a bit, it makes all that waiting time wasted, IYSWIM. So I'm stuck with it until someone sends me a better offer! So I hope you've already read at least one, AP... [busmile]

Dysgu · 25/04/2011 10:55

aristocat we are back from our holiday and also battling our way through a mountain range of laundry. I can't wait until everyone can do their own packing as I always seem to take so much - probably due to leaving everything until the last minute and then having this idea that taking the car means you can take everything!

I am back to work tomorrow so will take the book(s) I have packaged up to be sent to you with me and post them at lunch time. I have been very good and have not eaten any of the chocolate!

No worries in not receiving anything SLF - many of us seem to have struggled to keep up with things this time round.

On a different note - I now have a Kindle! It was a gift but... is GREAT! Grin

aristocat · 25/04/2011 18:25

thanks Dysgu will post again on arrival Smile ...... if i have read any i can send them straight on to arti and keep the circle moving

aristocat · 05/05/2011 14:33

aristocat · 05/05/2011 14:37

AgentProvocateur · 14/05/2011 23:58

pooter have you sent me anything? I just found out today that a lot of our mail has been delivered next door for the last month or so. Neighbour has been abroad, and when he came back today, he handed in a huge pile.

aristocat · 28/05/2011 19:33

how is everyone?

AgentProvocateur · 01/06/2011 23:12

Bookless! Wink

stickylittlefingers · 08/06/2011 16:47

Hello, just checking in to see what's happening... Who does actually have a book atm? I think we might need a round-up, in a non-hassling sort of a way, just to see what's where. Do ye all agree?

Hope all is well

aristocat · 08/06/2011 17:52

thanks Dysgu my book & chocolate has arrived Smile today

yes slf a great idea ..... shall i begin the list

aristocat JWs book

stickylittlefingers · 09/06/2011 10:26

the last book I had was Chandellina's, though am currently in AP's bookless state (and will be for a while yet if AP is still bookless!!). Did Pooter's consignment turn up in the end, AP? I guess if 5 books have gone AWOL, it's going to be a bit tricky. Sad

AgentProvocateur · 09/06/2011 10:43

No, I've not received a book since about February, when I sent it straight to you, SLF. I've not seen Pooter posts anywhere lately. I hope she's ok. Maybe she's too busy reading the five books she received!
