Hello everyone and welcome to the new thread for Round Two!

To recap, the basic rules are:
No chicklit
No abuse memoir type stuff
No horror
No hardbacks

Auto/biography is allowed as long as it?s not anything too obscure (or crap, obviously).

Chocolate to the value of about £2 each time.

Here is the list:
artifarti
aristocat
Dysgu
PistachioLemon
TheBuggerofSuburbia
stickylittlefingers
AgentProvocateur
LolaLadyBird
Itsjustafleshwound
pooter
muddleduck
LadyBee
FlyingMonkey
Maria2007
johnworf

johnworf is a new member so be nice!

As before, please email me at artifarti at hotmail dot co dot uk with the initials of your chosen book and author (e.g. ROTN by TH for Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy) so I can check there are no duplicates. I will assume all your name, address and chocolate details remain the same unless you tell me otherwise (johnworf, please send me yours)

Please do this on or before July 10th. Then I will email you all with the name of the new person you are to post the books to (we are reversing, for anyone that hasn't picked that up.)

No-one has indicated that they want to drop out so I am assuming not at the moment.
I have now read all the books so I am thinking about which was my favourite - so many good ones, a difficult choice.

Hi all - first of all, an apology to aristocat - when packing the girls' bag this morning for them to spend the day with my mum, as is usual on Mondays in termtime I discovered the envelope that I thought had been posted a fortnight ago - the last time they were with her! Sorry - she must have forgotten and the spare clothes have just been festering in the bag since then Blush I am on my way there now to collect the girls and will check that it has been posted today.

SLF I have not received a book for February yet - from anywhere. Do you know when it should have arrived?

Arti I know I have messed up this round, so does this mean that someone somewhere has two books? Obviously, Aristocat has had no book for February either but will now have one for March. I guess something will arrive for me from Amazon sometime - will that be for March or should I try to get through it quickly and send it on, thereby forcing aristocat to read quickly too?

As for redundancies - now I have made the decision to sit and wait to be made redundant (plenty of notice as the school can't close until the summer holidays!) I am mostly just eager not to have to get the girls up at half six each day so I can get to work! When it is still dark at that time in the morning, it feels unkind to wake them but next year, if I am not working, we can have relaxed mornings before I do their school run (get back to me on that one in September when I am wondering how I managed to get them both dressed, fed and out of the house so quickly when I was working... I will be one of those mums dashing my kids through the school door late each monring!)

But yes, other people in different circumstances are feeling very stressed right now and it is hard to sit back and watch them. Many colleagues who were redeployed now wish they had not accepted those job offers but stayed here and had more options. It is never easy...

aristocat · 03/03/2011 13:15

thank you Dysgu for the book and chocolate. is the book JohnWorfs? there is no name inside, shall i write it in?

arti i haven't been able to send you a book because i didnt have one to pass on. hope everyones well Smile

Dysgu · 03/03/2011 17:46

I still have not received a book for February - although today I did get a card from the post office saying that they had tried to deliver something that was too big for the letter box - that might be the missing book from stickylittlefingers.

They did manage to deliver the book I had ordered ages ago - so is the SLF book rather large, I wonder?

I have lost track of which book belongs to whom, aristocat, although I imagine arti can sort it out - she's great! Smile

aristocat · 03/03/2011 19:22

....... ATTENTION PLEASE .......

my book for this month is LAWKI by SP and there is no name inside!

who sent this one please?

thank you Smile

stickylittlefingers · 05/03/2011 21:59

Hi Dysgu - the book was dispatched on the 4 Feb, according to the email they sent me, so really should have made it to you by now. If you think it just hasn't (rather than being the parcel you got a note for) I'll let the amazon people know.

I've sent the one AP sent to me so you should be getting that soon, at least :)

AgentProvocateur · 05/03/2011 22:56

SLF, have you got the one that I sent to Germany yet, or is it the one that I sent to your UK address?

Dysgu · 06/03/2011 18:56

I have picked up the book that I had the note for - it is OD by DH. Is this the one?

I have already read it - is very good so may skim through it again - but should I send it straight on to aristocat ? I have not received anything for March and I know she must only just have received the one I sent that really was for February but...

Gosh, must do better Hmm

aristocat · 06/03/2011 22:29

hi does anyone know whose book i have got Hmm it is by SP and the title is LAWKI.

pleeeeease i cant post on its thread otherwise.

stickylittlefingers · 07/03/2011 20:04

Hello - AP, I've had the one that you know the author of (excellent grammar!) and that's the one I sent on to Dysgu last week, so should be arriving with Dysgu imminently...

Dysgu - The OD by DH is the one you should have had for Feb, so I guess yes, send it on to Aristocat asap, as it is her March one...

aristocat · 07/03/2011 21:52

SLF is this your book - LAWKI by SP?
or do you know whose it is

and if OD by DN is what i think it is, i have read it too Blush

Dysgu · 08/03/2011 22:01

I have received a book and yummy chocolate from SLF thank you Smile. I think my girls think the chocolate is specially sent for them! Grin They loved this month's marzipan treat - thank you from them!

I will send OD to you aristocat so that you then have it to send on to arti at the end of the month. I have not read the one that arrived today; but, working backwards the one you have already got must be Flying Monkey's book? The one I got today is from JohnWorf so the OD must be Maria2007? I think it is a replacement for one that went missing which is why is had no name. I wonder if that is right?

artifarti · 09/03/2011 20:16

Hello guys. Sorry I have been awol for a while. I have been in a bit of a headspin since New Year after having a miscarriage which was subsequently diagnosed as a molar pregnancy (not a good thing!) Things are getting better now; I have to be monitored for a few months but they are very happy with my results so far. So I'm tentatively emerging from the gloom again!

I have no idea where all the books are! I tried to work it out before Christmas but so many people are awol it proved impossible. OD by DN is Respect's book but I have no record of a LAWKI by SP!

Sorry it has all gone so wrong this time - last time seemed to work a treat. I guess we all just keep sending the books until we hopefully get our own back. Confused

Hope you are all good.

AgentProvocateur · 10/03/2011 11:08

Sorry to hear that, artifarti. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Don't worry about the books - they do seem to be going round again, so we'll just keep reading and posting.

stickylittlefingers · 12/03/2011 08:49

Hi Arti, so sorry to hear you've been having such a horrible couple of months. I hope things continue to get better for you xx

stickylittlefingers · 12/03/2011 09:11

Also - glad to hear your girls liked the chocolate (did you get any? Grin) Dysgu! Aristocat - no it's not mine, definitely.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

aristocat · 12/03/2011 11:07

thanks SLF i am reading it ATM and will send it to arti when finished

arti glad you are feeling better Smile

johnworf · 14/03/2011 18:27

Hi everyone,

sorry I have been so tardy and not posted. I have been reading and sending my books on though Smile

arti sorry to hear you've been through the mill Sad Hope you are on your way to feeling better Smile

I can't remember who I get my book from but I haven't had one this month. Has it been sent or could it have gone awol in the post?

maria I hope you received mine Smile

johnworf · 15/03/2011 13:31

Panic over! Book arrived today. Many thanks. Smile

AgentProvocateur · 17/03/2011 21:59

Pooter, I've not received a book this month. Should I have?

AgentProvocateur · 17/03/2011 22:08

That was really odd grammar - what I meant was, have you sent me a book?

It's been snowing here again! It's been so cold since November. I really feel like hibernating or emigrating. On the plus side, the evenings are definitely getting lighter.

aristocat · 19/03/2011 17:46

Dysgu have you sent me the OD book? if you have - it hasnt arrived yet.

i have parcelled my current book LAWKI ready to post to you arti and will do that next week Smile

hope everyone is well!

aristocat · 21/03/2011 13:04

aristocat · 21/03/2011 19:19

heaven forbid ........no chocolate Shock

artifarti · 24/03/2011 09:52

Parcel arrived and chocolate famine averted, thanks aristocat.

A naughty culprit has come forward and owned up to having three unposted parcels at home. They have been soundly beaten and will be posting forthwith (you know who you are Wink).
