Hiya

The following people want in:

Autumnlady
Dozymare
TheDrsWife
Bubbaz
Yorky
PinkyMinky

Any more for any more???

I think the sensible way to do it is that each person sends their book to the same person every month to avoind confusion ie:

Autumnlady to Dozymare, Dozymare to DrsWife etc etc

We could do this on a certain day every month such as the 30th or something? I am open to offers on how fast people read etc.

Let me know what you think
xx

dozymare · 16/05/2008 09:36

DONE! LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE GOT IT OK!!

bubbaz · 16/05/2008 09:50

Dozy yes got it thanks for that xx

Daniya · 16/05/2008 09:59

Just popped mine in the post so hopefully you'll get it tomorrow Yorky

pinkyminky · 16/05/2008 10:07

sorry I'm a bit sicky again this morning, have to drag myself to tumbletots now, so wil try to post today, it may have to be tomorrow.

lackaDAISYcal · 16/05/2008 10:28

Will post mine later today.........haven't decided what to send yet....maybe chocolat and the sequel so if anyone hasn't read it they can have a go with both!!

twinklingfairy · 16/05/2008 11:28

I love Joanne Harris stuff it has been yonks since I last read one of hers though and even longer since I read Chocolat. Maybe you could send a wee synopsis to remind me/ tell others the plot line and end result.
Maybe's photocopy the back of the book and what she did in the end?
Maybe asking too much esp, as books need to go out today.

Eek, 3 weeks! That would be absolutely fine if I am enjoying the book, but not so good if I am struggling!

Right, Going Dutch by Katie Fforde is in it's envelope (bit of a scruffy one, but re-cycling is good right?) and will be sent out just as soon as I get my bum in gear to get fully dressed. Bottom half done, top half still in sleepy t-shirt

lackaDAISYcal · 16/05/2008 11:53

good point twinkling. sometimes I romp through a book, but other times it can take me ages......

mind you, I can use the "gotta read this before next Friday" excuse to get DH to do the housework and let me alone to read in peace

I have my book. It's The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. It is one of my all time faves, and she is one of my favourite writers.

I hope you've not all read it.

dozymare · 16/05/2008 13:21

Posting mine shortly! Am sending "the madness of a seduced woman" hope you all enjoy it!

dozymare · 16/05/2008 13:29

Please please could we stick with 1 book a month....I can just aboutmanage that but 3 weeks would be pushing it if I am honest

lackaDAISYcal · 16/05/2008 16:13

one book a month it is then!

Mine is all packaged and ready to go...if DH wuld be so kind as to take all my mail to the PO

bubbaz · 16/05/2008 16:44

My book has now gone. Looking forward to getting y first one

twinklingfairy · 16/05/2008 16:53

Me too Took a lovely walk with DD to the PO, once I finally got dressed!!

Dozy, you are sending to me, yes?
I am getting a semi autobiography about a mad woman? Eek, again I have never read an autobiography in my life. Unless you count Anne Franks Diary.

So what happens now,
Do we all start disecting the books and giving our feelings, or.... what's it all about!!
Can't really do any of that surley cos others won't have read them yet?

dozymare · 16/05/2008 19:46

Mine also went today (but missed the 5pm van by a whisker!) The book is fab I promise and it's based on a true story but the author has elaborated..check out the reviews on amazon - the madness of a seduced woman!!

Yes not sure if we can discuss as other's wouldn't have read...How about we all write a comment at the front of the book with our name - I did that which you will see!!!!!

Am really excited about this!!!

pinkyminky · 17/05/2008 14:46

Posted my book this morning, it was a bit expensive as it's a dobber- sorry! But it's a very quick read, a sort of holiday book. Enjoy!

lackaDAISYcal · 17/05/2008 17:00

I've just had my book delivered...in person, by the very lovely Yorky .

It's one I've been meaning to read for ages, so I'll really enjoy it I hope.

apologies yorky, for the absolute state of my house. Am v v embarrased that it's been seen by someone

dozymare · 17/05/2008 19:44

Lackadaisy got "THe handmaidens tale" and can't put it down despote reading it perhaps 10 years ago....I was stuck on the train getting into town to meet a friend today and read quite a bit"

Your little note was very sweey and the condition was MINT! Am very embarassed about my book which as I have said, is bath read, thankfully not passing on to you!!!!!!!

quick poll - Do you think it would be nice if we all write a comment about what we thought about the book at either the front or the back? Otherwise we won't get to discuss as everyone reading at different times!!

dozymare · 17/05/2008 19:45

Can we do a list of what books are in the Circle:

Dozymare - THe madness of a seduced woman
Lackadaisy - THe Handmaiden's tale

pinkyminky · 17/05/2008 20:27

Handmaiden's tale- gosh that takes me back!

ok
Dozymare - THe madness of a seduced woman
Lackadaisy - THe Handmaiden's tale
Pinkyminky - The Pursuit of Happiness

twinklingfairy · 17/05/2008 20:32

Dozymare - The Madness of a Seduced Woman
Lackadaisy - The Handmaiden's tale
Twinklingfairy - Going Dutch, Katie Fforde

Have popped the authors name on so people can easy read up about the book ahead of recieving. Too much info?
We should prob do it in order of the sending so each can see what is coming next?

I think that sounds like a good idea, it would make a nice momento for when it finally makes it back to you, as well
Only hope I can think of something intelligent but short, so I don't fill the back cover, with my ramblings!

twinklingfairy · 17/05/2008 20:34

Dozymare - The Madness of a Seduced Woman
Lackadaisy - The Handmaiden's tale
Pinkyminky - The Pursuit of Happiness

sorry, being a bookworm and adding authors in!

pinkyminky · 17/05/2008 21:45

OOh I really don't know. It's set around the Mcarthy era - don't want to give too much away.

bubbaz · 18/05/2008 08:00
