Second miscarriage in four months and looking for hope after loss

Just had my second miscarriage in under 4 months - MMC at 12 week scan after previously seeing heartbeat followed by blighted ovum found at early scan at EPU at 7 weeks (so another MMC). Now undergone both a surgery and tablets in such a short space of time. I just feel so sad and defeated, also wondering what could be wrong with me. I’m 35 now and panicking, one nearly 3 year old conceived with no issues, healthy pregnancy. Any one had anything similar and gone onto success?

I’m so sorry for your losses and hope you’re doing as ok as can be expected.

I wanted to encourage you… I had 3 miscarriages, then my son, then another miscarriage, followed by my other son.

I remember the pain, fear and sorrow well, but please be encouraged - mine are in their 20s now.

Wishing you all the very best of luck with it all and hope you have a good support network around you in real life.

@Lauren912 so sorry you find yourself in this situation too. I am also going to ask my GP for some blood tests too but I only took the tablets a fortnight ago so I am going to give it another few weeks to let my hormones settle. In my gut I feel both of mine were chromosomal too but I am now seriously worried about the quality of my eggs/his sperm. Although we had a healthy baby 3 years ago I feel things can change quite quickly. I think I will be joining you on the aspirin and also potentially asking for progesterone too. If EPU wont help with this I will be paying privately. So hard isn’t it when you think you’ve had your run of bad luck and then it happens again! xx

I’ve had 4 losses since last December, one being an ectopic (gruelling 10 weeks). I’m devastated, I’ve been referred to recurrent miscarriage clinic but have been told the wait is around 6-8 months in my area. I now am terrified of taking pregnancy tests, terrified when I am pregnant, terrified of falling pregnant which is awful as that’s what we want but it’s just been such a difficult, emotional journey. I actually don’t think I’ve given myself time to grieve or process any of it either. It’s so sad. I’m so sorry. I know only too well how you feel. Xxx

So sorry OP, and to everyone who has gone or is going through recurrent loss. After my second loss, I had testing at a miscarriage clinic. They did find my issue (immune/nk cells in my case) and whilst I was waiting for testing they recommended prenatal + Coq10 (600mg) Omega 3, Vitamin D and 75mg aspirin every night. I understand the concern with not self medicating, but a recomendation from a clinic who treats 1000s of women was good enough for me. I haven't had success yet, but it is reassuring to have a plan in place as and when I conceive again.
