Hey, I have very recently suffered a miscarrige (heavy bleeding started 1st feb) at 6+2. Had a scan today to confirm the sac had passed and my hcg is now 22. Keen to start trying again. Anyone else in the same situation? Also very scared. Nervous we won't fall pregnant and if we do, scared it will happen again x

I’m experiencing the exact same ❤️ just fallen pregnant after missed miscarriage in August at 7.5 weeks, period came back January and fell pregnant straight away. I am scared xx sending love and strength, you’ll get through

Squidtentacles · 07/02/2025 19:20

Yes, same situation here. Although I was nearly 12 weeks when it happened (baby was measuring behind 4 weeks previously so I was prepared that i might lose it). Miscarriage happened on 20th Jan. My HCG levels were 71 yesterday. I am also eager to try again but also scared it might happen again! This was my 2nd ever pregnancy, the first one was with my son.

Sara93 · 07/02/2025 20:29

I’m sorry for your loss 💐

I had a miscarriage at 9.5 weeks, just before Christmas. After having an MVA, I got my period back in Jan, and I've just ovulated. We’ve started TTC again, but like you, I'm terrified that it will not happen or end in a loss.

All we can do is try. And if it ends in a loss, then we know that we can handle it and be ok, and we’ll try again xx

@Elmo2025 I'm so sorry for your loss..It's truly heartbreaking. But huge congrats on your pregnancy!
Your period took such a long time to return? 😟 x

@Squidtentacles heartbreaking and I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so tough isn't it. I'm the same as you. My son is 14 months old and i fell pregnant with him first time. Have you had a period since the miscarrige or any signs of ovulation? X

@Sara93 sending love to you ❤️ very positive sign that you had a period and have just ovulated. Such an anxious time isn't it. Wishing you luck this cycle! I have just started to track with opks x

Thank you, I sadly had some scarring and needed a hysteroscopy which I had in December and they had to dilate my cervix. Think it was caused by the D&C, it was so traumatic waiting for my period to come back. Thank you lovely wishing you luck too xx

ChaE05 · 08/02/2025 09:57

Oh @Elmo2025 what a traumatic experience. I didn't realise how complicated miscarriages could be until I read into it. You're through the other side now and I'm so happy you've managed to fall again. How far along are you? I can only imagine how anxious you feel. Having a baby is alot isn't it. From tracking, to trying and then when it happens the worry can be consuming. Especially when you've had a miscarriage.x

@ChaE05 it really was, I never knew either and never knew how common it is, it’s horrible, we’ve actually been trying 6 years and had 3 failed rounds of ivf, I had a laparoscopy in May last year and then fell pregnant right away which was my miscarriage. So this is my second pregnancy (both natural) and I’m only 4 weeks! Literally found out last week so fingers crossed. Hope you’re doing ok - it’s really tough, especially on your relationships. Sending love xx

Jo2104 · 08/02/2025 15:40

Hello,
i had a miscarriage a year ago, it took me 6 months to get pregnant again it was the longest 6 months ever but we go there! unfortunately that was a very complicated twin pregnancy which ended in us losing our girls at 3 days old and 7 days old.
We are going to start trying again but I am terrified it won’t happen again, or it will end in miscarriage I know exactly how you feel!

Squidtentacles · 08/02/2025 16:07

@ChaE05 my miscarriage was only 3 weeks ago this coming Monday so no period yet. As my HCG is still quite high (71, should be under 5) I think I have a little while to wait until ovulation and period come! It's a frustrating wait for sure!
My son was first try too! It kind of lulled me into a false sense of security I think. I thought it would be just as quick and easy this time! Now I kind of wish I hadn't waited, as the age gap is increasing to more than what I wanted (small issue though, I know I'll just be so lucky to have another!)

ChaE05 · 09/02/2025 07:07

@Squidtentacles Yes it is a frustrating wait isn't it! It's the unknown too. Have you been tracking ovulation at all? So hcg has to be under 5 for ovulation/period? That's good to know. Although I'll never know how mine will continue to drop as hospital don't test again once it's under 25. I've started tracking with opks as of yesterday. My heavy bleeding started on the 1st but I was spotting 3 days before that. X

@ChaE05 I took an ovulation test on Thursday. It was a blazing positive, I guess because it's picking up the pregnancy hormone! But yes, i don't think ovulation can happen until we're below 5. I only had my blood taken and tested as I'd requested it from my doctor, otherwise they weren't going to! So you could ask for them to do it at your clinic if you would like. Otherwise, I think I've read it usually halves every week. So going but that you'll be down to under 5 by the end of the month!

ChaE05 · 09/02/2025 09:30

@Squidtentacles ahh thanks for that info. I may do that if it takes a while for ovulation to happen. I did an ovulation stick during pregnancy and the same it was so positive! However I took one Friday and it was negative and the ones I have since taken have been lighter. So hoping that is a good sign. I've also started doing the clearblue ones. As I like to see if I get a flashing smiley x

OP posts:
Squidtentacles · 09/02/2025 09:38

@ChaE05 I prefer the clearblue digitals too - seemed to help me both times I've got pregnant! Your hormone is quite a bit lower than mine, I guess as I was further along, so that makes sense. You are probably going to ovulate sooner than me!

ChaE05 · 09/02/2025 09:58

@Squidtentacles We will see. I have heard some people's cycles really messed up for a few months after. So hope that's not the case. I always ovulated late between day 19-21. And therefore my luteal phase was a bit shorter. Also breastfeeding my Son still so didn't know if that would be causing an issue too with falling/staying pregnant. So many things to worry about! X

OP posts:
Squidtentacles · 09/02/2025 10:08

@ChaE05 I got pregnant the cycle I stopped breastfeeding, but I wonder if that was coincidental - it didn't stop you this time! I doubt it is anything to do with staying pregnant though. Times like this it's hard not to overthink everything x

ChaE05 · 09/02/2025 10:51

@Squidtentacles did it take you long to concieve this pregnancy just gone? It was our 3rd month and I was trying to lengthen my luteal phase with supplements. So not sure if that helped. Ugh the process of trying to get pregnant/staying pregnant. It's so mentally draining isn't it x

Hi I just wanted to come on to offer some hope, I have had two miscarriages both times I fell pregnant almost straight away again and went on to have healthy babies each time.

ChaE05 · 09/02/2025 15:47

@chchocomoccalocca oh I'm so sorry for your 2 losses but I'm so pleased you went on to have healthy babies. And thank you so much for sharing. It really does give hope! X

Squidtentacles · 09/02/2025 19:50

@ChaE05 this one was 3rd try! I'm hoping it is quick again next time, I suppose with my age and worrying over the age gap of siblings.. and not knowing if I'll have another loss.. time can really fly when TTC!

Laria19 · 09/02/2025 21:33

Hey I’m new to mums net and was looking for women who have been in similar situations to myself. Im so sorry for your loss it’s not an nice thing to happen to us, I’ve had two early miscarriages last year after having two healthy pregnancies, I want to try again but I am afraid it might happen again. It’s mentally exhausting. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated😊baby dust to you all ✨✨

ChaE05 · 10/02/2025 08:16

@Squidtentacles we sound in a similar situation! How old is your son? I am 38 in May so also worry about my age. But try to stay hopeful as I fell first time with my son and I was 36 then! We need to try and stay positive. In the mean time I'll enjoy still being able to fit in my jeans and have a glass of wine 😂

ChaE05 · 10/02/2025 08:20

@Laria19 oh 2 miscarriages 😟 I'm so sorry. Honestly it's no wonder you are scared to try again. Its really so emotionally testing isn't it. I do know of many people that had back to back miscarriages and went on to have successful pregnancies! Unfortunately and sadly just think it is very unlucky. Could I ask how your cycles were post miscarrige? Did they take a while to settle?
Have you decided to take a break from trying? Sending love to you. Sad situation to bring women together but also good to not feel alone x
