winter did you manage to sort it out?

kacie welcome to the club noone wants to join. I think we can all relate to trying and failing to concentrate at work... Or life in general. I'm sorry you think you are mc again. Period pains can be a sign of things going either way so I hope you are wrong and this one's a sticky one. Lots of us love the guys at Coventry on here so I'm pleased you've been referred to prof quenby. Do you have a date to see her yet? Good luck trying to get through today xx

Kacie123 · 19/10/2015 11:44

Thank you mrsdiddlydoo. It's not going well today! I'm v. lucky to have a nice understanding boss but worried that she can only take so much.

I've had 2 at 2 months, and the other at this stage, I just want it all to be over now. It's incredible how much it's taken over my daily life over the last 14 months.

I'm seeing Siobhan at the end of November, can't quite remember the day but hoping they'll be able to find something concrete which can be fixed. (Ironically as someone TTC I'm not good with pain and am more than a bit worried about the womb lining test!)

Flowers again to everyone else having a rubbish time.

BumbleBee0 · 19/10/2015 17:02

Welcome kacie. So sorry for your losses and that you think this one is heading the same way. Flowers
Are you about 4wks now?
I've had the biopsy at Coventry too. I had gas and air and didn't really find it painful, just uncomfortable with the speculum etc. Make sure you ask for gas and air though as they don't always seem to offer it freely. Hope you have got through today ok. Have you had further pain or bleeding? X

Kacie123 · 19/10/2015 19:02

Thanks for the welcome BumbleBee. I've had pains and aches every hour or so, on the hour, yet still no period. Test today totally negative ... So now I'm just waiting (again...)

That's good to know about the Gas and Air. I was planning to drive myself there but might get a lift then! Smile

Marchgirl · 20/10/2015 13:03

Welcome kacie, but so sorry you find yourself here and that you're going through this again. Great that you're seeing siobhan. Are you seeing her through the nhs or through the implantation clinic?
I really hope things get going for you soon. The waiting is horrible

barkingtreefrog · 21/10/2015 07:31

Sorry I've been awol, I know it's an old excuse but when they bring in the new android app it'll be so much easier to read and post!

Welcome to the newbies, how are you doing now kacie? Any further signs?

I've got a delivery of a shit load of drugs to work today. Tomorrow I go in for the scratch, and on Friday I have two hours hooked up to an intralipids drip. Then start stabbing on Sunday. It's all starting up again...

Kacie123 · 21/10/2015 11:49

Thanks barking ... I'm still waiting for period here Sad now almost a week late, all negative tests, so of course I'm frantically googling ectopics etc and driving myself generally mad Hmm

Anyway! Hope you're all doing as well as possible everyone.

Floweroct2 · 21/10/2015 13:29

kacie hope things happen soon for you xx

barking that all sounds good, fingers crossed it does the trick for you

Marchgirl · 21/10/2015 18:54

Good luck for the scratch tomorrow barking, hopefully it won't be as painful as last time for you x

BumbleBee0 · 21/10/2015 20:01

kacie a few people on here swear by raspberry leaf tea which is meant to help cleanse the uterus and bring on bleeding (or at least speed it up once it's started) so might be worth a try.

barking Yey for drugs! Hmm Exciting that the process is starting ready for IVF in December (it is December isn't it?) Good luck for tomorrow! Your care and treatment sounds top class this time, got everything crossed for you! xxx

barkingtreefrog · 21/10/2015 20:45

Bumble I start stabbing on Sunday, but it's long protocol this time, so takes a lot longer and won't finish until December.

BumbleBee0 · 22/10/2015 08:30

How many different injections do you need to take barking? Do you need to take other things too like tablets, pessaries? What's the reasoning for the long protocol? Is it because it's less stress on your body by being more gradual? Sorry for all the questions!! Don't feel obliged to answer if you don't want and tell me to stop being nosey! Blush x

barkingtreefrog · 22/10/2015 17:29

My treatment plan in brief, just for Bumble Wink
I'm taking metafolin, had a scratch this morning, then intralipids in a drip tomorrow, suprecur injections to downreg starting Sunday and both menopur and gonal f injections for stims starting when a baseline scan shows I've shut down okay (going for 1st scan on 2nd Nov). I'll have another intralipids drip the following week. After scans and blood tests every other day for around 10 days I'll do another injection (pregnl) to make me ovulate. After egg collection I'll be on heparin, prednisalone, calcium tablets and progesterone. Embryo transfer will happen 2-5 days later depending on what we get and how they're doing.
To maximise our chances we added the embryo glue and caremaps (their own algorithm using an embryo scope) to maximise chances. I'm using the hypnotherapy tracks from last time and having weekly acupuncture. Exercise stops now and I'm doing nothing more than dog walks and a very short cycle to work from now on.
I've probably forgotten something...
Oh, and chocolate brownies (eggs) with double cream and ice cream (protein) on a daily basis Grin.

barkingtreefrog · 22/10/2015 17:31

Oh, and long protocol because it shuts everything down (essentially bringing on a temporary menopause) so they can stimulate the ovaries from nothing. This keeps the follicles more similar in size, whilst when I did the antagonist protocol I had some leading follicles and others that were smaller, so they matured at different times. Hopefully this will give me more mature eggs.

Kacie123 · 22/10/2015 17:36

Wow - good luck Barking. Will be crossing fingers for you!

Marchgirl · 22/10/2015 18:08

That's incredibly complicated barking, glad they know what they are doing. It must have taken years for then to perfect all that and work or what works best. Keeping everything crossed for you xx

How are you doing today kacie?

Kacie123 · 22/10/2015 19:15

Thanks for asking march ... Still in limbo sadly. The test on Sunday was the only one which was lightly positive, all clearer than clear since then, so whatever it was must have gone. Meanwhile 7 days overdue now and clearly going bonkers so booked to see doctors tomorrow. Sad

You know one of the awful things about this all is how we saw that test, it was just an "Oh, ok. Maybe." I feel like if even if we're ever lucky enough to have a pregnancy which sticks, we just won't ever get the joy other people do.

(Sorry, I know many people have it much worse than we do and don't mean to be overdramatic! Just feeling a bit sad generally.)

barkingtreefrog · 22/10/2015 19:20

It IS sad kacie, all that joyful innocence of a bfp is beyond any of us, and it stinks to know that a bfp is the start of another difficult time, not a time of celebration (although it's such a struggle for me to get a bfp at all that I'm hoping I would have a tiny surge of happiness before the inevitable stress kicks in!)

Marchgirl · 23/10/2015 06:44

Yes, it's very sad kacie, takes all the joy out of the start and replaces it with dread. My last two mcs were early like this one is for you and I found people's reactions frustrating and upsetting, as they acted like it wasn't real. All the time on the ttc boards I see people who have a bfp followed by a bfn and often other posters say 'must have just been a faulty test'. I know it's not. I never know what's worse, for them to be told they were imagining things, or that they've had a mc.

Have you tried acupuncture? With two of my mcs I went between diagnosis and bleeding and she was able to kick start the bleeding. It's also just generally brilliant for relaxation and getting your cycles back on track. I go to a community clinic so it's a short appointment and she's in and out with another client in the next room, but its only 15 quid, so much more affordable. I went every week from mc3 up until i was 12 weeks with this one, now going once a month. Would highly recommend it

BumbleBee0 · 23/10/2015 09:14

Thanks barking! Wink
Sorry for being so nosey, I find it really interesting though and feel it's one of those things that never gets discussed and people generally don't realise what is involved in the process. I feel like couples have to suffer in silence throughout the process because of it.
That makes sense about starting ovulation from scratch so they hopefully grow at a similar rate. Ooh glue...is that to aid implantation? What are caremaps? It sounds like such a complex process. Good combo of meds post egg collection (same as Coventry Wink) but with added calcium tablets - what are they for?
Chocolate brownies help eggs do they??? Grin Xxx

Floweroct2 · 23/10/2015 13:26

Certainly sound like you're throwing everything at it barking

I'm 9 weeks today and feel a bit lost. I've been discharged from fertility team after my scan last week. But still to hear from midwife so no idea when booking in appt will be or my next scan. For my last pregnancy my "12" week scan was booked in for when I would have been 15 weeks so hoping I don't have to wait that long! I'm in that stage like I was with last mc where i had a good early scan and the baby died but didn't find out for a couple of weeks later but trying to stay positive this time. Might book a scan for week after next when I'll be 10 weeks +.

I really just want to be a normal person who can enjoy pregnancy!

BumbleBee0 · 23/10/2015 14:23

9 wks already flower! I'm sure time is standing still for you though. I agree that an extra scan would help and at 10wks a positive scan is very good news.
I'm sorry I'm sure you'll have said already but are you on any meds this time round? Remember this is a new pregmancy and therefore new hope. xxx

Floweroct2 · 23/10/2015 15:11

Thanks bumble yes I'm on clexane, gestone, cyclogest, progynova plus omega 3 and vitamins! Can start to reduce them all in another week hopefully!

Marchgirl · 23/10/2015 19:40

9 weeks is great flower! That's gone so quickly (probably not for you). I agree that maybe an extra scan would help you stay calm. Do you think your epu might offer you one? Keeping everything crossed for you xx

mrsdiddlydoo · 23/10/2015 21:25

flower after everything you have been through to get here it's not surprising to feel a bit lost. I'd definitely recommend another scan, NHS or private for reassurance if it will give you a day or two of reassurance. 9 weeks is brilliant! Sadly pregnancy after mc just isn't an easy journey, and the first trimester in particular feels like it lasts forever x
