inamay I'm so so sorry for your loss, it is heartbreaking. Flowers I hope you're being looked after in RL.

Yes the nhs don't class 2 mcs as recurrent, only after you've had 3 do they begin testing, which is a joke.

However I think some good Gps may refer you after 2 depending on your age.
I asked my gp (btw I've 'only' had 2) and he did blood clotting tests for me 'for my piece of mind' but they actually revealed a clotting disorder. I think the clotting tests and thyroid are not too expensive so they may do these for you if you ask.
Then I went to coventry for the uNK cells biopsy (cost £360) and you only need to have had 1 mc or failed ivf to go there. My result from this was also abnormal so very glad I went.
I'm sure done more ladies will be along with some more info for you soon. Take care x

CheesyMash · 13/06/2015 09:41

march I can see the line too. Hope the bleeding settles soon. Time to start the drugs! Love the socks. I'm going to wear my lucky frog socks for you today. X

freckle sorry you're out this month. Glad you can take positives from it though and hopefully you'll be in a better position next month after boosting Holland & barrats profits. Wink

Thinking of you snoopy and barking. barking hope you can enjoy your birthday and treat yourself.
Snoopy love the sound of your bouquet with flowers from the garden and woods, and vintage postcards for invites, love it.

Brummiegirl15 · 13/06/2015 09:45

Hi Inamay I'm afraid the others are right. It's 3 mc's in a row to be referred for tests in the UK. I am 38 and begged to be referred after 2 but my GP at the time refused point blank.

However I've now moved and my current consultant has said due to my age I could been tested after 2 in this area so it really does depend.

I've also been to Coventry and can definitely recommend. I'm so sorry for your losses, it's devastating.

Ahhh March the fox socks!!!! We've not seen those for a while. The socks rock

inamaymaybewrong · 13/06/2015 09:52

Thanks for the replies. I will see the GP next week and ask for a referral. I'll look into the Coventry clinic too. Is that the easiest / cheapest route to get tested for the NK cells, regardless of where in the UK you live? I'm in south Wales. Do you just call them up direct? I'm guessing our local private IVF clinic might offer the same tests, but they'd probably be more expensive?
Given how difficult it is for us to conceive, I'm loathed to do another FET cycle without further tests first as putting a precious frozen embryo back in without knowing about any
such problems seems like too big a risk.

OneStep2015 · 13/06/2015 09:54

Inamay After my 2nd mmc (found at 12wk scan, had died at 7wks), I walked straight in to my GP and pretty much demanded to be seen, straight after receiving my bad news at EPU. I had been in contact with my GP on several occasions during those weeks because of persistent spotting and left shoulder blade pain, I was told I was probably ok and to hang on for 12wk scan. I knew something had gone wrong. Once in the GPs office my husband reminded my GP that it was mental health awareness week and that was it fair that my mental health didn't seem to be taken in to account and that I should now be expected to endure the unknown of a further mc without having some investigations done. I had just turned 39yrs. I was exhausted from the last 12 months of mc and trying to recover. I was promptly referred to John Radcliffe RMC (our choice of RMC) for blood tests and Karotyping. After my 3rd mc in Feb this year, I was reading Justs blog and she very kindly sent me info on Coventry and I self referred there. X

Jady77 · 13/06/2015 10:03

I'd forgotten about the socks, mine fell in my tea before I could get them on my feet this morning. Go lucky socks go!

Inamay So sorry for your losses and struggles. I'm 37 too and GP referred me and I was able to get the blood clotting tests. I also applied for local TABLET trial which test for thyroid antibodies (was negative). And also went to Coventry which revealed above normal uNK cell density.

Freckle I'm so sorry it wasn't a positive. Really disappointed for you.

And March noooo, really not what you need right now.

Minnie74 · 13/06/2015 10:03

Whispering congrats march a definite line there. Hoping your lucky socks tell the bleeding to do one!

snoopy love for today. Hope it's not as heart wrenching as you feel it will be.

barking hugs for you too for this weekend. Anniversaries are pants. X

cloud have a brilliant holiday! second trimester when you're back!!

inamay welcome and sorry you've had such a rough time. As the others have said three is the important number I guess. I've had three but not consecutive so didn't think I'd get tested. My local Epu seemed to have no worries about that though and referred me straightaway (my GP would have done too but could be my age, 40) I'm another Coventry fan, just hoping it works!

Minnie74 · 13/06/2015 10:08

freckle sorry you're out but sounds like you've got lots of positive plans. I'm going to test on tues. I feel like I'm getting my period though already- crampy and grumpy- but it's only 7 days post ov so won't be chuffed if I am yet. Hate those empty boxes! Xx

bootles · 13/06/2015 10:31

Welcome may sorry you find yourself here.

march big hugs and hope. Its just so hard.

freckle sorry for the bfn..yes holland and barret for a step forwards.

I had a strand of pink cm today. And I don't have much in the way of symptoms this morning. It has reminded me how fragile I feel about coping with it all. Ugh I hate this anxiety so much. Sorry for being needy but if I'm going to keep up the positivity has anyone words of hope? I'm aware I am being a bit silly...

Catlover2014 · 13/06/2015 10:58

Hugs Bootles how many weeks are you now? My symptoms totally came and went and I had pinkish (sometimes even red) spotting from abt 7 to 14 weeks and even had quite a heavy bleed one or two days. I was worried sick the whole time and know just what you're going through but fingers crossed this is your time. We're all here for hand holding.

Sorry it's BFN Feckle. I'm sure you'll get a BFP soon. Fingers crossed for you.

Welcome to the feed may, so sorry for losses and for the infertility struggles. I myself suffered mcs after years of fertility issues and it is totally the pits. I managed to convince the NHS to run mc tests after my 2nd recorded mc but partly that was because I had another suspected early mc the year before that. Hope you get access to help and counselling soon. This feed is great and I'm sure everyone on here will help you through the hard times.

Oooooh that lovely line March. I'm quietly excited for you and it's good to see those fox socks are back in play! Spotting this early on is likely to be implantation so try not to worry, easier said than done I know.

Sorry if I've missed anyone. I'll be 38 weeks on Thursday and that plus my DH having is op is leaving me rather stressed and wiped out. Fingers crossed my head's back online soon!

inamaymaybewrong · 13/06/2015 10:59

Thanks all. Sorry for just asking questions and being me,me,me
at the moment. Hopefully I'll get to know everyone and will be able to offer support too as time goes on.

I mentioned that I have a private scan at lunchtime today. When I Googled the Coventry NK cells clinic I found that the same test is now offered at the clinic I'm having my scan at offers the same tests as Coventry and works with the professors there. I'll ask when I go there today.

longestlurkerever · 13/06/2015 11:04

imamay your fertility history is relevant. You might well get a referral based on it and your two mcs though yyou may have already had some of the tests as part of your ivf treatment plan. sorry for what you have been through. I have pcos too but just had my dd2 so hang Iin there. Have you looked into low gi eating? I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in my third trimester and there is a link with pcos. In retrospect it might have been worth a try sooner. I also took agnus castus when ttc.

freckle hugs. I used a mooncup the cycle I conceived beth. They also make af a bit less grim.

Marchgirl · 13/06/2015 11:27

Oh freckle, I'm gutted for you! Still hoping for a late result but glad you have a plan for next month. I was always told the day before ov and the one before that are the most important, but I'm actually not sure it's that precise. I read an article last week that suggested that it's likely that an egg is fertilised nearly every month, but that the attrition rate is so high before testing that that's why we don't know it. just need to find the right one.

Welcome may and sorry to hear about your losses. I agree that trying your gp is a good idea for the basic tests and potentially Coventry.

Speaking of Coventry. Am i supposed to let the prof know about my bfp? Is looking like I'm going to have to speak to him about a private prescription next week anyway ,so was thinking is just let him know then.

Sorry to hear you've had spotting bootles. It's such a bloody stress this whole thing. But you know there are lots of people on here who have had spotting and been ok. Hand holding. When is your next scan?

Keeping fingers crossed for you minnie

Good on you and your dh for fighting for testing and kicking ass at the gp onestep

Thanks for the lucky frog socks cheesy Grin

started my pred this morning. Thank you so much once again tanny

inamay sorry to hear your story. I too have issues conceiving and have had three mc. I'm also in South Wales is it the Bryan Beattie clinic? I believe they also do the biopsy but it is more expensive than Coventry even taking travel into consideration. Coventry also have a specific protocol to follow even if that test comes back negative and the girls on here have been really enthusiastic about Coventry so we decided to go there. What's your scan for today? X

march nice to see the socks back :)
freckle hoping it's just too early

inamaymaybewrong · 13/06/2015 12:14

Flower, hi, yes it's that clinic. I'll check the pricing and see how it compares to Coventry. Our FET was at the LWC Cardiff though, and they seem to offer NK testing but only at their London clinic. Where are you being treated at the moment?

Floweroct · 13/06/2015 12:20

I was being seen at crgw last year, had two lots of iui there one successful but then mc and the second wasn't successful. Was due to have ivf in nov but got natural bfp in oct but again mc. So now due to have first Ivf at the Heath in a couple of weeks!

inamaymaybewrong · 13/06/2015 12:24

Oh sorry to hear all that Flower. Best of luck for your upcoming IVF. Our one and only fresh cycle was done in England as we lived there then, was the short protocol and worked a treat.
Are you aware of the infertility support group that is open at all at LWC Cardiff? I've never been before but went to similar before my fresh IVF cycle. The next meeting is on Tuesday, evening I think. I'm thinking of going.

Brummiegirl15 · 13/06/2015 12:27

Freckle just seen it's a bfn. Gutted for you xx

mrsdiddlydoo · 13/06/2015 12:52

march yay for line! More Yaying for lucky socks! Boo at bleeding. Take things as easy as you can x

Welcome inamay Sorry you find yourself here. I'm another only had 2 mc but sod the NHS classification for rmc. I'm sorry about your mc. Don't apologise for asking lots of questions. It's what we're here for. We all need help and advice and support of varying quantities at different times.

mrsdiddlydoo · 13/06/2015 12:55

Hugs freckle

Enjoy your hols cloud!

Understand the anxiety with the pink bootles mine's become darker but not heavier and I'm holding onto how shit I feel as a sign that it can't be anything. Plus side is dh is letting me put my feet up and I'm excused from my weekend responsibilities for now. Don't know what I'd do if this goes tits up again.

Floweroct · 13/06/2015 13:08

diddly bootles really wish you didn't have to go through these nervous times.

inamay no I've never been to their support groups maybe I'll take a look, I think I'm free on Tuesday

sebsmummy1 · 13/06/2015 13:23

Oh god MrsD I can understand the anxiety. Your 12 week scan is Monday, is that right?

Bootles hand holding for you too. I am pretty much blood phobic nowadays. I just don't want to see it at all unless it's 8dpo, a tiny spot and a BFP comes soon after.

So sorry for the BFNs. March fingers crossed the line gets darker darling xxx

inamaymaybewrong · 13/06/2015 13:25

Flower, I think you need to call them to get full details of the meeting and to RSVP. I think I will go on Tuesday. I need a real life outlet for all this beyond DH!

Hey, thanks so much ladies for being so lovely about bfn, i truly appteciate it. God, it is a bitter pill though, isn't it. Yiu drill yourself on what you should feel, tell yourself to get a grip, but ut still stings. There is no doubt in my mind that it is for a good reason. We dtd day before ov and day of ov, but i was away at parents in days leading up to that so think i need to get a lot more bonking in too in the future (pretty difficult with an under 2 in the bed!!!) But i do have hope, blind though it might be!
Right then march** i am tipping my cap at you now dear lady - all strength to you, go go go! Xxx
