I have heard of Clomid being used in this way but apparently there is an alternative to Clomid which is more expensive and is often used for older women. I can't remember why though or what it's brand name is!

cloudjumper · 28/04/2015 13:26

Whoa - did I read that right, 3 more BFPs? Jady, erica and girlie?! Sorry, really struggling to keep up with the thread at the moment.

sasha Isn't private healthcare amazing? But I am quite angry at BUPA that they keep it so much under wrap that they can help you with tt/pregnancy-related issues, when I read the info booklet, it was 'pregnancy-related issues are excluded' everywhere Angry.
Private or not, it makes such a difference, being listened to and having a constructive appointment, where you get a strategy and a plan! I am forever thankful to my consultant for not fobbing me off with the 'you're old, so what do you expect' (to be fair, no healthcare provider has ever said that to me).
Cyclogest is really not difficult to take (there was an interesting conversation about this on the previous thread Grin). It can be quite irritating when taken vaginally, that's why a lot of people recommend using the other end.

About progesterone and diarrhoea - no problems here with that either, but oh my lord, the wet wind I get is atrocious. I am wearing pads because of that Blush.

Did I just count 2 bfps in one morning?! Congrats Erica and Jady Grin

Not even had time to read to the end of the thread in my lunch time let alone post properly and reply so will have to come back this evening!!

Marchgirl · 28/04/2015 15:01

Ummm. Interesting re clomid for mc. Every day is a school day on here! How annoying that they don't mention that at the rmc appointments. I'd agree that progesterone isn't that hard to take, but if you can make your body make it then that must be better, no?

ExtraBlessings · 28/04/2015 15:14

jady, erica, girlie fab work ladies. All the best.

Brummiegirl15 · 28/04/2015 15:19

Loving the BFP's!! Great work ladies.

Loving the new name Blessings and here's to plenty of blessings!!

Also finding the cyclogest chat interesting as well. So note to self. Potentially looking at wearing pad / liner for more than 1 reason Grin but also think I may need to just have a spare pair of knickers in bag me thinks.

But where else can you have this kind of conversation?? It's just so supportive and invaluable

twilightstruggle · 28/04/2015 15:19

Love the new name Blessing!

Well I've today found out that my last pregnancy miscarried due to tripoldy which I gather is a random genetic event which is, I guess, 'good' news? However it was also diagnosed as a partial molar so yet more delays and stress while I get followed up for that. Grumble grumble.

St Mary's were good today. I spoke to them about the prospect of going to Coventry and the Dr was really supportive of the idea - which was nice as I'd anticipated a degree of defensiveness.

CheesyMash · 28/04/2015 15:21

Just nipping on following discussions about cycle apps earlier, I use 'clue' and it is always spot on for my ovation dates. I don't temp tho so don't know how well it works with that. Just thought I'd add tho in case anyone hasn't tried it yet.

Can't believe on these bfps!!! Grin it's great, congratulations girls! X

Graceymac · 28/04/2015 15:30

I am not trying to conceive any more but just wanted to tell you of my own positive outcome to give a little hope to some of you. I had 5 mcs in total, there was never any clear reason other that my cycles were longer than normal and mild PCOS, I had a number of treatments from progesterone to heparin. I also read about vitamin d and omega 3 being helpful so took those too. Well my 3 dds are now downstairs killing each other in the kitchen!
I am on the other side of this now but I didn't think I would ever be a mother at one point so don't give up hope.

Monten · 28/04/2015 16:23

Thanks gracey how nice of you to pop in. It really does make a difference. Like others have said, the thought of never being a mother haunts me. Thanks for sharing your story.

Thanks for sharing experiences with apps ladies. I can't get along with OPKs either girlie it never seems to turn positive. I started temping three months ago and found that quite informative. The app just seems to disregard the temp rise tho! That's interesting about being able to override Ovuview march I might look into that.

twilight I'm so sorry to hear about the partial molar. What does the follow up for that entail? My last MC was a random genetic mutation and whilst not 'good', it really did help me with closure. It was never meant to be, however sad that is. Big hugs for you. Do you remember what you said about bumping into Kate Middleton at St Marys? Word on the street is that she has gone into labour this afternoon.....brace yourselves ladies.

If I see a pregnant woman or one with a new baby (older kids don't bother me) I purposely look the other way. Its really sad. My cousin had a baby two months ago and I realised the other day I havent even seen a picture. We're not close but normally my mum would forward something like that on. I'm grateful that she hasn't but it makes me sad that she feels she has to treat me with kid gloves too Sad

I keep meaning to ask brummie what happened with your friend and did she ever thank you for that gift??

I'm another one who was thinking about Faith baking and I'm so glad that she is seizure free. It must be so draining having to fight for treatment but a relief for the seizures to have stopped, that must have been so hard, I can't imagine.

March Here's my stats

Strubidooo 34 TTC#1 since Sept 12, 3mc, 1 ectopic (tube removed)

Congrats on all the BFP's.

Sasha Thanks for posting about your appointment. I'm convinced I have some sort of PCOS but Doctors don't agree with me.

I'm just lurking in the background at the moment. Trying not to think about TTC but stressing about not TTC and that we should keep going. Which I know is silly, we are taking time out as TTC is stressing us out.

I'm trying to lose weight and have lost a whole pound in 6 weeks which is rubbish, I cant motivate myself. I have 8 weeks till I have to go back to the RMC so I ideally want to be at BMI 30 so they can stop using that as an excuse.

Flen · 28/04/2015 17:01

Thanks for the cyclogest/progesterone info everyone, went front door rather than back this morning and will ask Prof Brosens about it when I have my phone consultation this evening.

I also like the new name blessings. And I keep my fingers crossed for many of many different kinds for everyone on here.

Re: apps, I use Glow, which I find generally quite good (although lately it has got a bit bloody chippy...)

Sasha glad you had a positive appointment, it just HELPS, doesn't it?

Still struggling today, although not been tearful. I did an adoptive parents' support group this afternoon, and it was strange to think of what those 20 people might have been through before getting to where they are. Strength and empathy...

girliesaints · 28/04/2015 18:10

Loving the new name blessing!

Had 5wk response appointment today and all good as far as they can tell, which is just taking bloods and vitals. Almost had a scan, which I then stupidly queried as not suppose to have scan until next week and then decided against it and wait until next week! Had to go back this afternoon to collect my meds, which as the research team had gone home, I had to go to the labour ward! Not great experience ??

Hope royal baby gets a move on soon. The day's news broke of second pregnancy, I had my last MC. Sort of hoping same doesn't happen this time when it arrived. Clearly that is illogical but shows my current mind state!

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2015 18:16

Well had a beautiful positive opk this afternoon. Was using FMU since about 8 or 9 dpo then once I saw the line shift this morning I held my wee this afternoon and hey presto two lovely strong lines Smile. So I am going to ovulate cd14 would you believe!

Not going to Coventry this morn as we have not been careful. If I catch which is incredibly unlikely I'm just going to have to beg my RMC consultant for Prog and hep or just go it alone and hope my body does as good a job as it did last time.

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2015 18:17

*this month

Brummiegirl15 · 28/04/2015 18:27

Hi Monten actually yes I did hear from friend. She sent a card last week. Better late than never (2 months)

Had my Cov results back - they are normal.

So hystereoscopy tomorrow. If that's clear, there genuinely will be absolutely nothing wrong with me.

So why can't I carry babies??? Why have I lost 3?

Results have made me feel a bit despondent if I'm honest. Hmm

mrsdiddlydoo · 28/04/2015 18:51

flen hope the consultation goes well this evening.

Suitably apt name change blessing love it!

Can't remember who mentioned me going direct to Coventry for the location scan and heparin (sorry) but yes I did and they were happy for me to do that even if they maybe thought I was bonkers travelling 120 miles. Turns out it was a good choice as gp yesterday told me they weren't comfortable prescribing either the heparin or prog even with Coventry's letter. They questioned its wording which 'suggests' a treatment plan, not anything else. They have referred me to the local epu to request a consultant takes me on. They did suggest they have done it once before when someone went private, problem in my case all revolves around me not having been referred to rmc clinic yet because my 2 shitty mc don't count.

I guess at least if this becomes my third I will finally qualify for their bloody rules.

Let us know how tomorrow goes brummie will be thinking of you

mrsdiddlydoo · 28/04/2015 18:56

And sorry you are normal, which is a good thing even if it doesn't feel like it.

Sorry to hear your results twilight have they said what happens next?

Flen · 28/04/2015 18:59

brummie same feeling, weird how normal results should be reassuring and aren't.
