ourday - so pleased for you Smile

sebsmummy1 · 26/02/2015 13:04

Awww congrats ourday, fabulous news. All the lovely pregnancy news on here is fantastic.

I've received the info re. Coventry via email. Just got to have a look at the literature now. When they talk about biopsy what are they biopsying?

Flen · 26/02/2015 13:08

Thank you ladies, you have put a smile back on my face!

TinyTear · 26/02/2015 13:26

seb the womb lining... hurts a bit more than a smear test but it was not unbearable...

bootles · 26/02/2015 13:33

ourday that's great news! You must be feeling relieved and thrilled.

flen i cant read it properly as am on phone but i think i get the gist - will look properly at home on the computer. Sounds v annoying rhough.

twilight its still very early days for you. I really hope you manage to get the time off work that you need. Thinking of you x

sebs the biopsy is also termed the scratch, and it involves taking a little bit of uterine lining to test for decidualisation (how the lining prepares for pg) and uNK cells. Its like a smear test but a but more uncomfortable. I went alone and was fine - its not like a surgical procedure or anything, v straightforward.

sebsmummy1 · 26/02/2015 13:38

Oh that's good to know I can go alone. Thank you for all your help, this thread is a total lifeline to me at the moment Flowers

TinyTear · 26/02/2015 13:40

yep, i also went by myself on the train

bootles · 26/02/2015 13:42

I'm somewhat unenthusiastic about my next shift at work. Last time I was there I found myself speaking on the phone to a woman nervously pg after 2 mc's - quite hard to get the balance right and keep it purely professional. Though I imagine I was more empathetic than some of my colleagues would have been. My own multitude of scan images flashed through my mind the whole call. Then I had to read through reports about another woman who had had a chromosomal abnormality found at her 20 week scan. Scan pictures in there too. Most of the time I manage these sorts of situations pretty well. But at the moment I can feel myself sinking further, and I know my chances of success are very slim. Hoping I will move into some other sort of mindset over the next few days.

AndCounting · 26/02/2015 13:59

Hello all
I'm back from half term visiting relatives in Yorkshire last week, so I have missed a lot of pages. (Yay ourday! , yikes flen! , I think the answer is 'uterine lining', seb)

Unfortunately my trip was not very restful. My granny has been brought home from hospital to die after a massive stroke. She's not in pain and is surrounded by loved ones (including DS and me last week). I'm dreading the inevitable news as I'm still recovering from the anxiety that followed MCs3&4. My phased return to work seemed tenuous already (3 weeks in out of 6). I spoke to my line manager this morning and we agreed that I'll just need to stick on reduced hours for a few weeks and take days off when I need them.

And then, of course, I got a BFP this morning. I spoke to the nurse at the TABLET trial and I go to see her for bloods and a scan on 17 March (7 weeks). Really crossing my fingers that my mystery capsules are the real deal. (TABLET is a placebo controlled clinical trial so I don't know if I am actually getting the treatment or just a Tictac).

My master plan is to stay well-rested and look after myself. And try not to worry about this. Haha.

AndCounting · 26/02/2015 14:08

Sorry to hear about your time at work, Bootles. It sounds like you were empathetic and professional, but at some cost to your own peace of mind. Does your work always involve dealing with these situations? Can you work on some sort of strategy for dealing with them? Meantime have agood rest and do whatever it is that works to restore yourself. All the best.

longestlurkerever · 26/02/2015 14:14

And counting - fab news about the BFP! Everything crossed for you that this is the one.

Very sorry to hear about your grandmother.

I also had a bit of a titter at Esmerelda. Isn't that a Disney princess? Just worried someone would pipe up and say "oi, that's dd's name!". Should have known you all have more sense.

cloudjumper · 26/02/2015 14:18

counting So sorry to hear about your granny. But wow - I nearly missed your news about your BFP, good stealth posting! Congratulations! Your master plan sounds great, hope you can stick with it Grin

Marchgirl · 26/02/2015 14:23

Good luck cloud, keeping fingers crossed for you that this will be your month. And if it isn't, then at least you also have a positive thing, to be able to get the mri done.

Marchgirl · 26/02/2015 14:29

Sorry, had not refreshed. Great news on the bfp counting!!! Hope this is it for you.
Sorry to hear about your granny though. Sometimes it seems like you're not allowed to have completely good news at any time

bythesea82 · 26/02/2015 14:34

flen Angry
counting great news on BFP but sorry to hear your have so much else going on. Flowers
tiny glad growth scan good, I like the term 'eviction date' Smile

Sunandrainbow · 26/02/2015 14:39

counting - ooh fab news on your bfp. So sorry to hear about your granny though. x

Flen · 26/02/2015 14:57

andcounting hooray for BFP and hugs for your granny. Lots going on, sounds very sensible to take it easy.

AndCounting · 26/02/2015 15:43

Thanks lovely ladies.
Hahacloud 'stealth posting' indeed! All the best.
I know what you mean, march

tannyLoo · 26/02/2015 15:47

counting wowzers! Brilliant news. I hope the tictacs keep working x

bootles · 26/02/2015 15:49

andcounting good news on your bfp, and so sorry to hear about your granny.

Work is quite often like that, but not always. Thanks for your thoughts. By the way, its a weird job and highly unlikely that I would end up in contact with any of you (just in case anyone was thinking that!)

cloud its never simple hey. But then, this month you'll either be pg or ticking another 'get checked' box.

Lovemylittlebear · 26/02/2015 15:50

My colleague has my first due date, best friend the second and brother in law the third...you can't dodge it can you lol :( how long does a misscarriage last if you don't have any medical intervention? Xxxx

Flower29 · 26/02/2015 16:10

flen what a stupid thing to post out! Not only is it smug and insensitive, it makes me cringe!! And the 'Angels' line is sick!!

tiny so pleased your growth scan went well! Smile

counting congrats on your BFP! Are you going to wait it out til 7 wks or book an early scan?
So sorry to hear about your grandma. It's good that you got to see her though and that she isn't in any pain. X

littlebear only my 2nd mc was natural. I think I had nearly 2 wks of spotting which got heavier before passing the tissue and then bled for a few weeks after. The sac only measured 4.5 wks but I was 6-7 wks. X

Flower29 · 26/02/2015 16:19

That's hard going littlebear having to share all your due dates. Flowers

AndCounting · 26/02/2015 16:29

littlebear that's rough
Was going to wait, flower. (I thought you only get decent chance of a HB at 6 weeks, by which time there's only a week in it. Only! Haha. Now you have given me the idea. We'll see.)

Brummiegirl15 · 26/02/2015 16:29

Blimey that was a casual dropped in BFP Counting that's fab!!! Am so sorry about your Granny though Flowers
