Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats Smile

twilight I am so sorry, we are absolutely gutted for you.

ourday glad it was all ok for you.

I'm sure this is the only thread on Mumsnet with such extremes of emotion, often in the same day or even the same post. We all want to cheer for each other's success, whilst being present and acknowledging the heartache along the way. Thinking of you both in different ways Flowers

TinyTear · 18/02/2015 17:59

Ourday glad it was all OK... How many weeks now?

Twilight, did they book the erpc? Just remember to look after yourself and take as long off work as you feel you need

Flen · 18/02/2015 18:07

ourday Glad it went well, great news.

ourdaywillcome1983 · 18/02/2015 18:07

Thanks to all of you Flowers baking you are so right, put perfectly as always.

tiny by LMP I'm 11 weeks today but scan measuring 11+4. My dating scan is a week tomorrow

twilightstruggle · 18/02/2015 18:20

Thanks guys. Erpc booked for tomorrow and follow-up to get results of testing in 8 weeks.

I'm wondering if anywhere in our collective knowledge we would know why two mc would both happen at 9 weeks. Does that fit with NK cells or anything (I'm going to Coventry regardless but just wondering). It's difficult to attribute these later losses to bad luck etc, and Dr said they're less likely to be chromosomal once you see a hb at 8w. If not chromosomal then why...

Sorry for those being mucked about by services. I've had to cancel patients for this week and it feels shite - not having a dig but these nhs staff are only human and might have good excuses although it's more likely an admin balls up or a consultant going on a conference in my experience

bootles · 18/02/2015 18:22

Good news ourday! 4 days ahead is brilliant!

bootles · 18/02/2015 18:42

twilight am i right in thinking this is your 4th loss and as you say, second at 9 weeks? My last one (5th) died at 9 weeks (on full coventry protocol for high nk cells, but erpc didn't get a result) and i had a 'chromosomally normal' one that reached 13 wks. I have heard doctors say chromosomal losses can occur at any time, and I think just had a loss at 9 weeks that was turner syndrome. Sorry that's not very helpful...I know its unbearably frustrating when there are no answers. For what its worth, I definitely think Coventry is a good next step for you. I am going there on friday as I had so many questions after this last, 9 week loss. So sorry again that you are going through this, and whilst I totally appreciate that you feel shite for cancelling patients, you wouldn't be helping them if you're on the edge yourself. You need some time to absorb it all and pick yourself up. I hope you are able to take the time you need x

Boozle80 · 18/02/2015 19:03

Twilight I'm so sorry, words can't make it better but sending you all the hugs in the world. My ones all made it to 9 weeks 5 days and the consultant wouldn't commit to what it could be however hard I pushed. They were all chromisonaly normal. I did quite a lot of research and came up with the completely unmedically supported view that it must be something to do with my placenta clotting as that's about the time it takes over. When I asked the consultant directly she said it could be a feasible theory, or it could be an immune issue at that stage also. The heparin and steroids seem to have worked this time though which also supports that idea, I got pregnant again before the testing though so have no evidence that it's either of those, part of me's glad though because something worked this time and I don't think I'd have got anything had my tests come back negative.

bakingtins · 18/02/2015 19:09

All my losses were 9-10 weeks and after HBs seen in 3 of them. My diagnosis was high NK cells, but I know of other people with the same who've had early 6 week ish losses.

Monten · 18/02/2015 19:53

Oh twilight I'm so so sorry. It's just so utterly shit and I'm so angry that you, and all of us, have to go through this. I hope dh is looking after you and you have plenty of time off work. We will be here for you in the coming days. I dont know about the nine week thing, although my first was Edwards syndrome and he made it to 12 weeks, with a heartbeat. I really think it just depends but boozle's theory makes a lot of sense too. I hope the Erpc tomorrow goes as wellas it can.

Fab news ourday - so pleased for you x

longestlurkerever · 18/02/2015 20:12

twilight still thinking of you. I hope you get some answers from the erpc. Huge huge hugs.

our day really pleased it went well. 11+4 is brilliant.

Glad you got your appointment brought forward a little bit girlie. I assume a 3d scan would be for uterus shape, though I only had a normal scan then referral for a saline one.

Justonemoretime · 18/02/2015 20:14

Hi Twilight, yes I had a mmc with Turner's syndrome after a HB seen at 9.1 wks. It may be rare for chromosomal issues to go past 8 wks, but it does happen. Coventry sounds like a plan when you're up to it. In the mean time, hope the erpc goes well as it can do tomorrow and look after yourself. xx

Catlover2014 · 18/02/2015 20:20

Twilight I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. It's at least something that they've got you in for your ERPC quickly. Let us know how you're recovering when you feel up to coming back on here. Hugs xxx

girliesaints · 18/02/2015 20:22

Twilight, please don't feel bad about cancelling appointments, it's completely understandable. Please chill tonight (as much as possible) and good luck for tomorrow.

Btw- My appointment was cancelled due to an admin cock up, which is why I was so mad, especially as it made out initially to be my fault (how?) if it was cancelled for illness or a personal reason I hoped would have been more understandable.

Brummiegirl15 · 18/02/2015 20:36

twilight my last 2 were at 9 weeks too Sad and no idea why.

Thinking of you for tomorrow xxx

bootles · 18/02/2015 21:12

Can I ask...did other peoples 9 wk plus losses look like they were doing well up until the point they died (sorry) or did they show slow deterioration? Sorry for asking...its just got me thinking again about the chromosome issue, and how frustrating it is not to have an answer from the erpc. If my last one was chromosomally normal (which I'll never know) and I was on treatment for high NK cells, plus progesterone and heparin, that leaves me in a bad position. I've always known that but never thought to ask you all before about 9 wk losses..duh.

twilight I hope your erpc is over and done with quickly tomorrow, and that the results come back as speedily as possible. Hugs to you x

Justonemoretime · 18/02/2015 21:18

Bootles, my Turner syndrome one was looking so good they gave me an edd the last time I saw it. Hope you find something to help you move forward. Hugs to you. xx

Boozle80 · 18/02/2015 21:20

Mine looked fine - all with hb. Although I only had one or two scans for each.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 18/02/2015 21:25

Twilight so sorry for your loss.

Our day, glad you had good news at your scan.

Brummie that's rotten to have your date changed. What time will you be there on the 9th? Might see you there!

I think I have ov but not sure which date it happened, so our session Sunday night has out us into a 2ww. If no BFP then I have decided to see what Mr Watts says before deciding whether to move straight on to Coventry, just not sure whether anything useful will come of it other than a possible hysteroscopy which I think was what the nurse was describing ( yes it was a Julie I saw Brummie, and she was very kind).

Re Coventry, does anyone know if they have any statistics re their success rates?

Re losses at 9 weeks, sorry but I have nothing I can add as my losses have all been earlier than that.

tannyLoo · 18/02/2015 21:25

It makes me so sad to read about healthy looking 9 week old fetuses. Mine all died at around the 6 week mark and there's a world of difference. So sorry that we've all been through loss so profound...

TinyTear · 18/02/2015 21:29

My 5th was 9 weeks... At 7 it measured 6 with slow HB and I knew it wasn't meant to be... But they said again maybe I wasn't sure of my dates...

twilightstruggle · 18/02/2015 21:42

Thanks everyone for the thoughts though a little bit sorry I've got you all thinking about sad stuff. Can't reply to all as trying to get some sleep (we have to get the train at 4:45 tomorrow am to get to London for the operation 'check in' at 7am - insult to injury or what!) but I do really appreciate the time everyone's taken to post.

Bootles - today's is number 5 (sad mutual hand hold), but with two at 9 and three at 6 weeks.

Boozle - My research came up with a similar idea - i.e the placenta going wrong somehow. I also have a family history of lots of auto-immune stuff so don't know how relevant that is. Fingers crossed the Coventry protocol does the trick.

Night guys - thanks for the support today and everyone hang in there. X

bythesea82 · 18/02/2015 21:44

twilight hope tomorrow is ok. Will be thinking of you.

bootles 2 of my mcs have looked fine at scans about 9 weeks but have had bleeding, then gone on to mc naturally 7-10 days later. Last one chromosomally abnormal.

twilightstruggle · 18/02/2015 21:45

Ps. My two at eight weeks have all looked healthy at 7 weeks while at 8 there tend to be signs something's going wrong (slow hb, lack of growth, little bleeds near sac etc).
