Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats Smile

Thanks guys - was in dire need of a bit of sympathy there! Still a bit weepy but now in pjs, in bed with tea.

girliesaints · 14/02/2015 07:21

Twilight-hope you had a good sleep. Completely understandable given the journey you had.

Welcome Newbies- pull up a seat, you're most welcome.

Thanks for the comments on protocols of tests come back clear. Seems there's no standard plan, which I'm not surprised about. Appointment isn't until Thursday so going to be a long week.

tannyLoo · 14/02/2015 08:11

Girlie, I started off being told to take aspirin, after the next MC they gave me progesterone and the one after that they conceded to me trying heparin (but too late). I think this seems a bit of a pattern too, to add something new each time to the cheaper option. Women who have managed to find an enlightened consultant or be proper assertive have managed to get more treatment earlier. Good luck x

Twilight, poor you! That's the sort of thing that would have me crying with rage and frustration! I hope you've had a good night's sleep and feel a bit more robust this morning.

I've got a shockingly bad tummy again and trying to stay calm, despite all the worry dreams I had last night. I'm just a worrywort today anyway. DS1 is being all independent today and my mummy instincts are kicking in. He's 15!

girliesaints · 14/02/2015 10:19

Thanks Tanny. Consultant at last appointment already said he didn't believe in Aspirin for MCs so we'll see what happens.

kirinm · 14/02/2015 10:26

My RCM told me he'd put me on progesterone, aspirin and a steroid when I next get pregnant. He wasn't the most approachable man and I forgot to ask what the steroid would be. Does anyone know?

kirinm · 14/02/2015 10:27

*RMC Consultant - sorry.

ourdaywillcome1983 · 14/02/2015 10:43

Thanks bootles Flowers
twighlight I hope you're feeling better today. Still sending you massive hugs and thinking of you march
Had a couple of lovely dreams last night, ones that I didn't want to end. But then one bad dream that was really upsetting. Woken up feeling sad.
flen just read your blog, your things to say to someone is perfect - I am having to use all self restraint not to text this to the insensitive friends and inlaws that have said these things to me.

tannyLoo · 14/02/2015 10:54

Kiri, a few of us have been prescribed prednisolone, and I think that is possibly the steroid he meant.

Monten · 14/02/2015 10:59

Hi ladies, sorry been Awols, super busy at work.

march im so sorry Sad. I really hope you are getting some tlc

Welcome kirin and welcome back miracle. I remember you well, I think our MC dates matched up (except for the last one). All my tests came back clear to so I have beents to just try again. Mine were both confirmed chromosomal tho so that does make sense to me. The ladies on here have had amazing experiences at Coventry. Are you still ttc ing? I am and it's driving me crazy.

longest what a day you had yesterday. Arent you coming up to 20weeks? Did they not see your bump??
About to head off to accupuncture. AF is still not here but I'm not sure when I ovulated so might not be due on till Monday. And I have a long luteal phase. I have terrible pmt so am pretty sure she's on her way. The only thing giving me hope is that I've had loads of cramping since Monday, which I don't usually get so early

longestlurkerever · 14/02/2015 11:26

I think you mean twilight, monten but wave anyway! Have you poas if af is late?

Very weirdly after posting this morning I was looking for sellotape and in the same drawer I have emptied out a zillion times was dd's passport! Sellotape is awol though.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Anyone doing anything? I went to a gig and for a romantic kebab (!) yesterday as we had a babysitter. Tonight we are staying in but cooking lobster!

tannyLoo · 14/02/2015 11:34

I'm a valentines scrooge I'm afraid. No plans but catching up on Wolf Hall. Can't even face dtd at the moment Sad

Monten · 14/02/2015 11:34

Oh sorry twilight and longest Blush

If she doesn't show I will poas tomorrow. I only have a cb digi in the house and I don't know exactly when I'm due on so I don't want to waste it and then torture myself thinking it was just too early. Have done that many many times and it's bloody exhausting!
Your lobster sounds awesome.

Boozle80 · 14/02/2015 11:58

We went for breakfast which was lovely until we had a row about getting married. I want to, dp doesn't. I don't want to force him into it but it's important to me eventually. I managed not to cry and we stopped speaking over our bacon sandwiches. He did buy me some potato bread to try and say sorry though...

Flen · 14/02/2015 12:12

Thank you flower, writing it helps me but I also hoped it would resonate with others too and let them know they are not alone. jady and ourday glad you like it Smile

twilight your day yesterday sounds rotten! Hope you are doing better this morning.

And thank you mrsdiddly, might give it a go, although it sounds pretty ouchy!

mrsdiddlydoo · 14/02/2015 12:55

flen you drink it! Smile now that would be ouchy!

Flen · 14/02/2015 13:06

mrsdiddly haaaaaa! That could have been wonderful!

just the book from you has arrived - thank you very much!

Justonemoretime · 14/02/2015 13:34

You're welcome, Flen. Smile

Marchgirl · 14/02/2015 13:42

Hi newbies. Waves to everyone.

Sorry you had a shit day twilight. I would have been so upset and frustrated!

Thanks for your support and kind words yesterday everyone. Once again you have all been a lifeline. Glad the worst is over now and trying to think of the future.

My acupuncturist said something the other day that really took me by surprise. She said she'd like me to stop ttc until we work out why it's happening and treat it. This is the first time that anyone has suggested that I could still find a cause. As far as I was concerned, my diagnosis is unexplained miscarriage. She said she didn't believe in that term, it was just that they hadn't tried hard enough to find the cause. She thinks it's an autoimmune problem and says these can be brought on by pregnancy/giving birth. I have often wondered if something about having do somehow caused this, so interesting that she said this.
So I'm off to the gp to ask for tests for two types of thyroid antibodies, coeliac antibodies and hormone tests, none of which my rmc consultant thought were worthwhile but all apparently common causes of rmc. Don't know whether any of them will come up positive, but I'll feel happier when they've been ruled out and when I've also been to Coventry. Such a breath of fresh air to have someone think this can be sorted rather than just 'keep trying and eventually one will work out'

twilightstruggle · 14/02/2015 16:53

I have deactivated Facebook . It's so weird isn't it. On the one hand you obviously know friends shouldn't feel they have to 'monitor' what they put up but on the other hand you're just gobsmacked that people don't think not to.

Monten - fingers crossed for tomorrow.

March - that's really interesting (about what the acupuncturist). It is nice to have someone care isn't it.

Having a better day today. I think this pregnancy is failing though. Nausea, thirst, and frequent toileting all vanished. ??

longestlurkerever · 14/02/2015 17:04

twilight it's quite normal for symptoms to come and go, and to tail off as the placenta takes over, and you're at the right stage for that. Enjoy feeling normal for a while if you can - it's pretty short lived!

Marchgirl · 14/02/2015 17:59

I agree twilight, symptoms will come and go and should settle around this time. Hard not to worry nevertheless. X

Seekingmiracles · 14/02/2015 18:27

Hi Monten waves
Yes still trying. No luck since the last one, but I'm kind of glad. In a way I want to stop TTC until I've seen Dr Shehata. I've heard great things about Coventry but it's quite far and also I've heard her approach is quite reserved. I want full on, which I what you get withDr S.

March- my acupuncturist also highlighted immunology issues as a possible cause for me. Sometimes I wondered if she's a bit of a white witchWink but she seems to have a bit of a sixth sense about these things. Nhs don't test for the more advanced immune disorders. Can thoroughly recommend a book (which the acupuncturist recommended to me) Is your body baby friendly - it's a bloody revelation!! And makes so much sense as to why so many people have issues with rmc, failed ivf and infertility.def worth a read!

Marchgirl · 14/02/2015 18:34

Thanks seeking. I might have a read. Thought the lesley regan book was very good, although a bit out of date now, but not read the one you mention

Catlover2014 · 14/02/2015 19:13

Twilight my symptoms were just like that, stopped but then came back so try not to worry.

Agree that fb is weird, I also think it's evil. Never looked back since I left. People use it to lie and brag.

Scan isn't long away for me now and I feel a sense of dread and gloom washing over me. Please pray for my baby ladies. X

ourdaywillcome1983 · 14/02/2015 19:59

twighlight I also get them coming and going and even tho it keeps happening I'm panicking again as I don't feel as bad as I did yday. I think my bad dream didn't help this feeling tho.
cat please don't panic, we will all be here to hold your hand.
Waves at everyone else
