Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats Smile

Baking glad you saw consultant and MRI is clear. I hope he gets some answers for you soon.

cat that sounds rubbish but not the sort of thing to harm the baby, I don't think (very little does). Have you seen your gp? There are plenty of antibiotics that are safe in pregnancy.

I started to get ov pains in the last few months before getting pregnant, but nothing like as bad as that - ow!

I have family in Sheffield and my grandad was from Holmfirth .

Are we still up for a half term meet up? As in next week? I could do any day really but would prefer not Friday. Wed would in some ways be good as I am off work but coming into town with dd to see Charlie and Lola at the Southbank centre and we would have time for lunch beforehand. Afraid I would need to bring her with me though.

Catlover2014 · 12/02/2015 11:16

Thanks longest, didn't know that some antibiotics are ok. I've raised a call request with GP as can't stand up long enough to go to the clinic. X

TinyTear · 12/02/2015 11:53

OK for lunch yes lurker!
Same place same time?

I just had another growth scan. All fine but blooming child has a big tummy - GD related
So now waiting to see the consultants to see if I up my meds or go straight to insulin now...

Marchgirl · 12/02/2015 11:58

Hope the ear thing sorts itself soon cat. There are definitely some pregnancy friendly antibiotics.

Glad that the mri was clear baking and that the consultant is being better now he's around. Also glad you got the vaccine sorted, though v annoying to have to go private.
Good luck for the scan twilight.

Just spoke to Coventry and they are saying 2 cycles post mc despite it only being a cp. Vaguely thinking about just 'miscounting' and counting this bleed as first cycle, as otherwise it's nearly June before we can ttc again. If I hadn't used the most sensitive tests I could have never even had a positive test result. So arbitrary.

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 12:22

Baking - am so pleased to hear that the MRI was clear and that you've had some decent contact with the consultant. Hope he knocks some heads together and you have better care from now on.

March - I lack detailed knowledge of Coventry but I don't see that that type of miscounting could hurt. As you say it would've been entirely pos for you to have not tested positive with different tests. Someone else more in the know might know of reasons not to, but I'd be inclined to give it a go.

Glad the scan was positive Tiny. Fc it's just a case of increasing the meds (I've assumed that's the preferred option).

Cat - sorry to hear you're ill but agree that it's not the type of thing to affect the baby. Will probably wipe you out that bit more though so look after yourself and stay hydrated.

I'm in the epu waiting room. These places are so tense aren't they. After all my positivity of late I'm now convinced it's going to be bad news again - but I'm telling myself that's normal.

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 12:25

Also, Tanny - this is a safe space for us to share all, good and bad, and you'll never sound smug. Hope the anniversary has been ok. X

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 12:27

Someone just came in to the waiting room with a baby and has fucking left me with her while she goes to the loo. You couldn't fucking make it up.

Catlover2014 · 12/02/2015 12:29

Oh twilight that is so typical. Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed x

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 12:31

I've decided to look on the bright side and conclude that at least I look like someone who could plausibly look after an infant. Smile

Flower29 · 12/02/2015 12:32

twilight what a f ing idiot! She better be quick! Fingers crossed for you! X

You'll make a great mum!!! Imagine us all there with you today. Hugs

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 12:33

Oh god. I don't feel quite as bad now - someone else has just come in to the baby filled waiting room crying and clutching the miscarriage leaflet.

Floweroct · 12/02/2015 12:34

Ah twilight feel for you in that situation as you say couldn't make it up! Hope scan goes ok

Baking glad MRI was clear hope you get some answers soon.

March it's so frustrating isn't it. I'd be inclined to miscount too! I'm planning a trip there next month, we have still been ttc in between as I can't wait at the moment but doubt we've had any luck this month.

Counting hope you get some antibiotics, I had some before mc2 and fertility said certain ones were fine in pregnancy so they should sort you out

Sorry for everyone I've missed

Am at home ill in bed today, keep refreshing my email to see if anymore test results are back!

Floweroct · 12/02/2015 12:37

Oh god that feeling of walking into a room with that soddin leaflet, poor woman!

TinyTear · 12/02/2015 12:37

aw twillight, what an insensitive thing to do... and what if you get called in? what would you do?

i am still waiting to see the doctors... ahrgh... i have work to do and the wifi is being iffy here today

Catlover2014 · 12/02/2015 12:51

Oh that poor lady twilight - we know just how she feels.

Catlover2014 · 12/02/2015 12:54

flower sorry you're not well. Hope you get news soon. Waiting is the worst part.

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 12:58

Well. It wasn't completely negative - but it wasn't as reassuring as I'd have liked either. All looked good (hb etc) but measured 7 weeks when I should be 9. She also saw a little bit of blood. She wasn't terribly reassuring.

Catlover2014 · 12/02/2015 13:11

I think they can measure ahead and behind so try not to panic, hard though I know. When will they scan you next? X

Flower29 · 12/02/2015 13:12

twilight sorry it wasn't a reassuring scan. Did she explain anything at all? Seeing the hb is a positive thing and there could be other reasons for size and blood. Did you say you had a tilted uterus? X

Sorry you're feeling ill flower and cat

tannyLoo · 12/02/2015 13:29

Twilight hand holding here. When do you have your next scan?

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 13:30

Yes, I do have a tilted uterus. I'd forgotten about that! Will try and focus on that.

She wasn't great tbf. It wasn't at St M's so they didn't have details of last scan but when I went in I explained I'd been scanned last week and measured 8 weeks. But when she said 7 and I said "but I'm meant to be 9" she trotted out the "we don't know exactly when you conceived" line. When I reminded about the last scan she instead said it was harder to see using ultrasound but then said there wasn't the need to use vaginal scan instead. I found her a bit dismissive. I also must bear in mind she couldn't find my ovaries either and they're definitely there! I find the bleed a worry though as in every previous MC there's been a "little bit of bleeding".

twilightstruggle · 12/02/2015 13:33

Next scan at St M's next week Tanny so at least not too long a wait.

Catlover2014 · 12/02/2015 13:37

Far too early to be scanning without transvaginal. Fingers crossed next week will be more informative!! X

bakingtins · 12/02/2015 13:45

i think if there was any doubt and they only did a per abdo scan that's pretty shit twilight as they'd get a much clearer view on fanny-cam. a tilted uterus can make quite a big difference in terms of measuring crown-rump length if they can't get the angle right.
A still-living, heart-beating baby can not shrink, her measurements must be bollocks. i'm sorry it has been anxiety provoking rather than reassuring. When you measure 10 weeks at St M's you can demand your money back!
Hand holding until then as can completely understand how worried this will make you Flowers
