Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats :)

I wasn't going to. I'm a very obedient patient and do what I'm told! About to have blood taken for TEG.

They didn't really see anything except the sac. No fetal pole or yoke sac. I'd feel more reassured about the lack of hb if they had seen them but hey ho, this is where I find myself.

longestlurkerever · 21/01/2015 10:21

Glad it was OK Twilight. When are you due another scan? Noel or Holly for Twilight's baby name then eh? x

twilightstruggle · 21/01/2015 10:22

Another scan in a fortnight Longest the chances of me not going local or private between now and then are slim to none

Flower29 · 21/01/2015 10:35

2 weeks! That's ages, don't blame you for getting another in the meantime.

mrsdiddlydoo · 21/01/2015 10:41

Such a lot has happened on here in less than 12 hours! Mystery pills, positive scans (yay twilight!), snow days and weirdy beardy cycles!

Continuing cycle talk... After each mc (2) my periods have become heavier and heavier. I know mc messes us up, but should I be concerned? Currently feel like my insides are falling out. Nice eh.Hmm Kinda glad Ds is sick and I am off work because I'd be dashing between my desk and the loo all day and they already think I' m batty.

cloudjumper · 21/01/2015 10:48

twilight That is really encouraging! I agree that under 5 weeks, you'd be really lucky to see a heart beat, and if you want to be sure, I would wait out the 2 weeks until your next scan - not easy, I know, but at least you will know for sure then!

brummie Rubbish about the tests! But it's only been less than 3 weeks since your ERPC, so it's not completely out of the normal. Nonetheless frustrating, I agree! Can you try and distract yourself with something, paint a room at home or go away on a short trip? The waiting can be so demoralising, and it grinds you down. Hope you start to feel better soon!

Marchgirl · 21/01/2015 11:00

Sounds positive twilight Smile

barkingtreefrog · 21/01/2015 11:12

Great news, twilight, wouldn't expect to see a hb that early anyway, but another 2 weeks is ages to wait Sad.

Catlover2014 · 21/01/2015 11:14

Hi twilight I had my 1st scan at 5+4 and they couldn't see much at that stage. Sac in the right place is a really great start!!! Keeping everything crossed your next scan shows hb. X

Monten · 21/01/2015 12:40

Fab news twilight!

Thanks for lining scan info ladies. The thing is they did scan it an rmc, recorded it as 6mm and thin, but then insisted it wasn't an issue. Despite my research googling which says it is! I have gp appointment next week so will ask then.
march I keep the opks a secret from dp too. I think letting him too fully into the crazy-cray-cray would be a bad idea. I keep it to myself Smile

Me2Me2 · 21/01/2015 13:53

Monten I asked the doc who called to follow up on mc (ie check preg test now neg) about lining and she said 5mm and more is fine. Then at a recent scan (post-ov) my lining was 7mm and consultant said this was fine. I've found all kinds of mms on the Internet and contacted my consultant when my last period was light but he still says all is well. I'm pretty baffled by the whole thing but think maybe 8-9mm is optimal but not necessarily the minimum? Keen to hear what your gp says.

Good news twilight.

twilightstruggle · 21/01/2015 14:06

I have to say that you lot have interpreted what is essentially an empty sac much more positively than me!

barkingtreefrog · 21/01/2015 14:26

Ha ha twilight! We can all be very positive about everyone else's chances in an entirely objective way. Once we're there ourselves it's a very different story Wink

Monten I had a scan this morning and the nurse looked at my lining and said it was 'triple layer' which is what they look for during iui/ivf. I've previously been concerned about it so this was good to hear! I didn't ask about thickness (although I intended to) as I was too busy trying to count the follicles and estimate their size!!! I'll ask about lining thickness next time and let you know what they say.

bakingtins · 21/01/2015 14:57

It sounds fine twilight par for the course. Keep everything crossed for the next scan.

We're doing ok. Faith has managed 48 hrs of no seizures which is encouraging and she seems a little more herself today. DH and I are hanging, I had never really understood before what it meant to be "sick with worry" but now I know it's an actual physical thing. During the day I can be rational and remember all the positives that hopefully improve her prognosis, at night the fear just goes berserk and I can't sleep. Still no MRI date....

Catlover2014 · 21/01/2015 15:35

Good to hear Faith is a little better. Hope you hear about scan soon and those nights get better Flowers xxx

Flower29 · 21/01/2015 16:08

Baking, glad the meds are working and Faith is feeling a bit better and a little more herself. I hope you and hubby are still managing to feed and take care of yourselves even though they may be the last things you're thinking of right now. Hope Faith continues with no seizures and you get your MRI scan asap. X

Sunandrainbow · 21/01/2015 16:17

twilight - I was told it's very unusual to see a hb at this stage and they are really just checking that the sac is in the right place. Waiting between scans is so awful. Big hugs - and I repeat what others said to me, to just take one day at a time (although I never managed to follow this advice!).

baking - really glad to hear that you dd has had a better 48hrs. Praying you get the MRI date and some answers very soon.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 21/01/2015 16:40

Scan showed what I expected and a blood test confirmed for their records a miscarriage. They are going to run some blood tests via my GP and referring us to a consultant, to see if it's bad luck or something else causing the mc's. She said the 2 cs and 1 ERPC may be the cause, said the consultant will probably want to use a camera to have a look, can't remember the name she gave for this, ended with oscopy? Anyone know much about a Mr/Dr Watts at Worcester? Apparently he is old and only works part time, and not sure what to expect from him. She mentioned a promise trial but not what it was about as such, poo pooed whether progesterone would help ( I have no issue getting pregnant, but have lost the last 3) and so don't know if being referred will achieve much?

twilightstruggle · 21/01/2015 16:42

Thanks folks. I was doing well but then my very lovely pregnant friend text something which was supposed to reassure me but totally backfired and triggered a meltdown. Along the lines of... "Don't worry, I only saw (insert viable baby description here) at my 6 week scan", then I went on the Sept ante-natal thread and someone else had measured at 5+6 today and practically seen a toddler kicking about in there. Then it all spiralled into Dr Googling, tears and 'curt' texts back to my friend. Then guilt.. And shame. But I'm back now! I had some cheesecake and a bath. Wink

Baking - glad to hear things are looking better with Faith. I really hope that scan date comes back soon. I second Flower's reminder about self-care (though I appreciate that's probably the last thing on your mind).

I 'mumsnet-love' you guys.

twilightstruggle · 21/01/2015 16:50

Sorry Loopy. Cross posted.

I'm really so very sorry that you've had it confirmed. It's utter shit this rmc lark. They do seem to have responded quite proactively though. Others on the thread are much more in the know about the promos trial etc so I'll leave answering those questions to them. Sending you hugs and support.

Catlover2014 · 21/01/2015 16:52

Hi Loopy sorry for the confirmation but at least you know it's been correctly recorded now.

Where do you live? If its Worcester you could easily get to Coventry to see prof Quenby. I think it's about £380 to see her and lots of ladies on here have had great results with her.

The operation you've been recommended sounds like a hysteroscopy. They give you a general and put a tiny camera up to look at your womb. I've had three of them but luckily they aren't too bad. You will just need about 3 days off work to recover.

You can research alternative NHS consultants in your area and ask to see someone else if Mr Watts isn't sounding right for you. Afraid I don't know of him so can't say either way but him being "old" worries me. You need someone with a modern take on mc!

Catlover2014 · 21/01/2015 16:59

Twilight I can't believe anyone could see that much at 5+6?! I'm sure your friend means well but people recall things different to how they really are, it's like selective memory!!! At your point I just had a sac and the consultant wasn't at all concerned by that, we only saw a hb, yolk and fetal pole two weeks later when I went for my next scan. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that you see good things at your next one but I know the waiting is agony. Hang in there!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 21/01/2015 18:17

Cat lover I don't "work" as such, I never went back to work after ds2 but I am looking after them (2 and 4 year old) so there is no such thing as a day off, would that be a problem do you think?

I live close enough to go to Coventry if we needed to, at a guess it's an hour from me as I'm on the Warwickshire borders.

Purplefrogshoes · 21/01/2015 18:50

twilight I also have a titled uterus and at six weeks they could only see the sac. My dates didn't match up until later on either so try not to worry.

baking I hope they get the mri sorted quickly Flowers

So sorry loopy Flowers

I'm having a mini melt down todayConfused worried about movements even though scan showed I have an anterior placenta and my colleague I sit next to at work has just texted me to say she has mumps Hmm

Brummiegirl15 · 21/01/2015 19:42

Hi Loopy

I've been referred to Mr Watts at Worcester Hospital. He specialises in Early pregnancy and recurrent miscarriage.
He is Clinical Director of Worcester Hospital as well as Consultant Obs - Gynaecologist.

He also is a member of ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology). My sister is a registrar and he is her previous boss and is one of the best people in the region. He also consults at Worcester Spire Southbank private hospital and it's currently a 6 wk wait to see him privately. I'm booked in on 23rd Feb at Worcester as NHS appt

Just because he's older, doesn't mean he isn't good. My sister rates him very highly.

Of course Coventry is very good so if I don't get what I need from Worcester I will go to Coventry and see professor Quenby.

Have got my sick note extension - another week. I feel bad but need to get past my due date first
