Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats :)

Tanny thinking of you today.

Mummy37 welcome and so sorry you are here, I had my 3rd MC over new year so I know the broken feeling! Currently off work until 23rd Jan. I've not started any treatment yet so can't comment but lots of lovely ladies on here can.

Purple big hugs. I'm so sorry you went through that. Chill today x

Justonemoretime · 14/01/2015 11:26

Grin Grin Grin Ourday. Hope the treatment does the trick!

Thinking of you today Tanny. Hope family drama ceased for the service at least and bump is all calm

Welcome mummy37, sorry for your losses and you've joined a lovely group of ladies, who are very informed.

Purple, I am horrified on your behalf and hope that colleague is feeling suitably embarrassed by their behaviour.

Small progress on getting my next consultant appointment brought forward. Tracked down and spoken to the consultant's PA and she has agreed to bring it forward. She's off to get the ultrasound appointment tied up, so fingers crossed I'll get an appointment next month. In the meantime I'm loving all things healthy to shift some more pounds x

Sunandrainbow · 14/01/2015 12:38

tanny - hope today goes smoothly. Hugs.

mummy37 - sorry you find yourself here, but this is a lovely group of ladies who are incredibly knowledgable.

purple Words fail me about your colleague Shock Poor you, that must have been awful. I hope that she got an earful from your other colleagues!

mummy37 Welcome, sorry about your losses. There are many knowledgeable people on here, so hopefully, we can give lots of support.

ourday Yay! That is great news! The injections are really not too bad, yes, you will get bruises, but they are a small prize to pay, I always think!

tanny Hope it all goes OK today and you won't get too stressed.

Currently drowning in AF, urgh, might have to resort to painkillers this time.
And I have decided to add DHEA to my long list of supplements, in the hope of boosting my eggs even more!

longestlurkerever · 14/01/2015 14:35

Thinking of you tanny. Hope your mum stayed away.

Boo to cloud's AF and purple's colleagues. Honestly what goes through some people's heads? Hope she is feeling suitably ashamed.

But yeay to heartbeat at ourday's scan!

longestlurkerever · 14/01/2015 14:38

Just found out my close friend is 12 weeks pregnant with number 3 (she is the one I suspected at NYE). Soooo glad I snuck in ahead of her as I think otherwise that news might have finished me off and as it is I am quite pleased I will have a friend to share it with. Her pregnancies have always happened the moment she looks at her dh (though she has had other health issues so I mustn't be too green-eyed).

Marchgirl · 14/01/2015 15:31

Hope it has gone ok today tanny and that it has given you some closure

Catlover2014 · 14/01/2015 16:13

Thinking of you today tanny hope the service goes well Flowers

longest how many weeks are you now? My old friend is pregnant and I've been brave and taken the plunge to contact her. I join her antenatal fitness club next week at her suggestion, so terrified at meeting 'normal' journey ladies. Hope I don't cry!

feel for you cloud with painful AF. It's so lowering. Hope it passes quickly.

XxX

Catlover2014 · 14/01/2015 16:20

Purple just read about your colleague, she sounds like a total cow bag. Hope you're feeling okay considering. She may be ignorant but most people understand the path to starting a family isn't always straight forward. Just focus on your baby and know you've done nothing wrong Flowers xx

Fab news ourday Smile

Thinking of you today Tanny Flowers

I'm not doing very well keeping up with this thread but wanted to say tanny I'm very sorry for your loss and hope today has gone as well as it can do. Also congratulations and good luck to everyone that is pregnant on here!
I thought I would give an update, I had a scan yesterday and they saw a sac measuring 4.5 wks (I'm supposed to be 6.5wks) but couldn't rule out ectopic so I was offered a laparoscopy. However, as my hcg has stopped at 900s and I'm not having any pains I declined and will go back in a week to check hcg and can have treatment if nothing has happened. My bleeding is getting heavier now with small clots so I'm hoping it will happen soon. I've googled about the sac and it's probably only 5mm so I'm concerned I won't see it and won't be able to keep it for testing. However I'm still going to ask my dr if she can do any testing on me (and hubby if necessary) to see if I have a problem. Do you think this is likely given this is my 2nd loss rather than 3rd? Also is it possible for me to pay for them to be carried out if she won't do them and if so does anyone know how much it might be?
Sorry for the long winded post and I'm sure these questions have been asked and answered before, so sorry for repeating.
Thanks x

Sunandrainbow · 14/01/2015 20:08

Really sorry to hear this flower. I wasn't offered testing after two, although I also wasn't aware of it so didn't ask. But you don't have anything to lose by asking and pushing if they say no. I think I read on one of the threads (may have been this one) of the possibly to pay for testing of they won't do it on the nhs - hopefully someone can clarify. Big hugs though and take care.

Monten · 14/01/2015 20:52

So sorry to hear that flower. I hope you're doing okay. The waiting and limbo Is just awful.

I asked and got karyotype testing for MC2, that was at Kings in London. That was on the nhs so it is possible. If they say no some will give you the option to pay privately - a poster on here did that, can't remember who, hopefully she'll be along. From what I recall it was approx £300.

Mine was also measuring about 4/5 weeks and that didn't seem to be a problem. I hope it all goes okay for you Flowers

Monten · 14/01/2015 20:52

P.s great news ourday!

girliesaints · 14/01/2015 21:41

Sorry to hear flower you're kind of in limbo. Unfortunately can't help you with your question however based on my sole experience, if the bleeding is getting heavier than it may not be too long. Big hugs xx

Catlover2014 · 14/01/2015 22:14

Really sorry for your loss flower hope the bleeding doesn't go on too long and you don't require surgery.

I managed to convince my hospital to run blood tests for thyroid, blood clotting, hormone imbalance, celiac and karyotype after mc2. I couldn't convince them to send the products off for analysis though, they told me most times nothing comes back from those. I still wanted to pay for the products tests but couldn't find anywhere that did it before I went in for my erpc.

XxX

barkingtreefrog · 14/01/2015 22:26

How did the first injection go ourday? I've been told they're harder than the gonal f jabs I'm on for the IUI. I had to read the instructions again, it's been so long since the last cycle back in May!

flower no advice I'm afraid, I never had anything tested, it all went down the toilet. Hope things get moving for you soon and you're out of that horrible limbo.

Tanny hope today wasn't as bad as you were dreading Thanks

bootles · 14/01/2015 22:31

flower so sorry to hear this. The limbo in these situations is dreadful. Sorry to be graphic, but if things do start naturally, I have found a seive in the toilet is the way to collect everything, and put in a clean jar in the fridge until you can get it to the relevant place. I'm so sorry, I dont want to be blunt, but if you are thinking of keeping for testing I thought it may be useful info. I think testing on the embryo is about 200 pounds, and karyotyping on you and DH maybe 150 each? Always worth asking on the NHS, and I would have thought they will be able to direct you how to get any of the above. Big hugs to you xx

bootles · 14/01/2015 22:33

Tanny hope today went ok as it could do x

bootles · 14/01/2015 22:37

ourday that's great! You are 6 weeks, is that right? HB is a good sign.x

tannyLoo · 14/01/2015 23:12

Thank you all. I'm completely wrung out, but it was a good funeral. My mum chose to come on her own, but it was OK. Might post more about it tomorrow but I think I need sleep now... x

Brummiegirl15 · 14/01/2015 23:16

Get a good night rest Tanny we are here for chat if you need it x

longestlurkerever · 14/01/2015 23:20

Glad it went ok tanny. flower I am sorry for your loss. It was Charlieis30 who was offered the private testing on the embryo. I think her hospital was uch in London.

Good for you cat. I hope you enjoy your normal pregnancy journey. I am 20 weeks now and starting to relax. Until the next panic anyway.

Gah, only just on my way home from work after world's most boring evening.

Marchgirl · 15/01/2015 06:30

Glad it went ok tanny. We are here if you want to chat about it.

So sorry to hear your news flower. Sorry to also be graphic but have they given you a sterile pot? They gave me one and i felt things coming, caught it on a clean tissue (although sieve sounds like a good idea) and put it in the pot. I think you will know what it is when it comes.
Bear in mind that you will then have to take it to the hospital and sign forms for it. I found this quite hard to hand it over. They will ask you how you want it disposed of after the testing. It's worth knowing this in advance as it took me by surprise.
I hope they will test it for you after 2. Many nhs hospitals now refuse to karyotype the parents unless the embryo/foetus shows a genetic cause, so you may find getting you and your OH done more difficult, but hopefully that's more reason for them to do the embryo.
Unfortunately they weren't able to culture cells from my sample, but hopefully they will be with yours. I hope you get some answers x
