Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats :)

(Ah, bootles beat me to it)

bootles · 13/01/2015 21:44

purple for gods sake what is wrong with people??!! I also had shit work day yesterday with totally insensitive questions. You did NOT make a fool out of yourself. You made a natural, normal response to having your difficult and painful history suddenly exposed without warning. I bet your colleague is feeling pretty stupid for asking such blatant and insensitive questions, and wishes tbat she hasn't upset you. I just wonder...whether she has her own story? Could she have had a mc? Or am I overthinking and actually she just has minimal emotional awareness? Yes call in sick and sod them - look after yourself and that bump x

Hi mummy37 I took prednisolone in my successful pregnancy after a high NK cells diagnosis, along with progesterone and heparin. It was quite a straightforward decision for me having been told with my levels I had very little chance of a successful pregnancy without it. The risks to baby are increased incidence of cleft lip and palate and IUGR. My daughter was born 2 weeks early and was smaller than my previous children but is fine. During the time I was on the steroids I had increased appetite and insomnia. Steroids are often used in pregnancy for other conditions so the risks are well quantified. There is a long running thread on the conception board with more RMC patients being treated with steroids and other immunomodulating drugs you may wish to check out.

tanny thinking of you tomorrow.

purple sending you a ((hug)) Wtf is wrong with work colleagues at the moment? hope you feel better after a duvet day.

mummy37 · 13/01/2015 22:15

Bootles very sorry to hear about your loss. I am bristol based but useful to hear your experiences. I will check out that thread.
AndCounting - sorry for your loss too. I am finding being off work is helping me to cope and build back some resilience. Miscarriage association guidance for employers says women in high pressure jobs more likely to miscarry so it's something I want to manage as a risk confidence at a 2 out of 10 at the mo. Hugs to you both. X

Mummy37, sorry for your losses. Quite a lot of us have travelled to Coventry and gone as self funded patients (£360) to access profs Quenby and Brosens clinic. I didn't have raised nk cells but did get the progesterone and heparin injections and am now almost 17 weeks (tomorrow). If you've tried everything else, it's well worth a go. Good luck!

Purple, Shock at your colleague. I also wonder if she has an issue (as well as no social skills). You and bump are your #1 priority, though, so enjoy your duvet day. x

purple just to add to what others have said - what an incredibly insensitive thing for your colleague to do. I think your reaction is totally understandable! Take care of yourself and give yourself what you need.

Sunandrainbow · 14/01/2015 07:44

purple - Angry at your colleagues. Take care and make sure you look after yourself today. x

Boozle80 · 14/01/2015 07:59

Tanny big hugs for today

TinyTear · 14/01/2015 08:10

purple your colleague needs a slap with a wet fish!

tannyLoo · 14/01/2015 08:28

To add to the stress, I have just had a row with my mum as she messaged me this morning to say she would come. I just couldn't bare that on top of everything else. Have already been in floods of tears this morning.

Also having bump worries, but DH has pointed out that any anxieties I have at the moment get transferred to that, so will take my notes today just in case and try not to run away...

Purple, glad you're taking some time. x

Marchgirl · 14/01/2015 09:02

OMG purple. Wtf was your colleague thinking? How fecking insensitive. Not surprised you don't want to go in today but don't feel like you made a fool of yourself. I hope she's feeling v guilty about saying such an idiotic thing.

TinyTear · 14/01/2015 09:58
