Information, support, hand holding, tea, sympathy and a hell of a lot of combined knowledge - all welcome as we try to make sense of the RMC roller coaster of tests, NHS admin, heart ache and (hopefully) happy endings!
Please start with a recap of your stats :)

Thanks, her sister posted to her this morning, saying she'd be there all the way through and to " remember we have to dance in the storm before we can dance in the rain" which is a lovely acknowledging sentiment. I usually hurumph this sort if sentimentality, but it seemed apt for a lot if us...

Belle fuck training and cut yourself some slack. Enjoy your day x

Cat crossing everything for you, you will be alright x

Sorry, there was loads more I was going to comment on, wish I could be more like Bootles...

We have had some money issues with our mortgage lenders, which has also been preoccupying, and stupidly I thought we could get our toddler to sleep in a big boy bed without too much fuss, meaning I'm feeling all a bit distracted and cross. I'm OK in the big scheme of things, and that is what matters...

Flen · 10/12/2014 07:50

Thinking of you today Cat, let us know how it goes.

Flen · 10/12/2014 07:50

And Belle, ACE decision for today, ACE.

tannyLoo · 10/12/2014 07:50

Ah, yes, Daisy yes, as others said the effects do last for a few cycles, so take Christmas off and have a new year, new start thing for after... You are going to have years of having a child dictate the pace of your life, so I wouldn't worry about kicking it off too soon! I had some TTC months where we both dreaded going to bed. Was much better when I felt ready to jump him in an ovulating hormonal frenzy!

Catlover2014 · 10/12/2014 07:52

Hi everyone,

On phone so can't name check but want to say thanks for your kind messages.

My little baby was wiggling around on my scan this am and now measures 10+4, that's 4 whole days ahead!!!

Will catch up with you all later Grin

XxX

tannyLoo · 10/12/2014 07:55

belle that's a good plan. Have a good distracting day and sod work. I thought candy crush was some sort of confectionary but can imagine mindless computer games work even better. You are doing so well, just hang in there.

cat good luck

Tanny I find my inability to be brief and concise is like a curse..I try but just can't do it. Am a stickler for detail and it generally makes life more complicated! I totally agree with belle tbat its ok for you to put yourself first in this sad situation with your friend. Its hard not to absorb others grief in these situations, but you can still be there for her whilst keeping the emotion of it at a bit of a distance. I hope that makes sense.

Ugh money issues are super stressful..we have a lot of those. Hope the mortgage business gets sorted soon. Sorry to hear the move to the big boy bed is proving difficult. My DS is 3 3/4 now, and still gets in with us in the night. Were you hoping to get him into a big boy bed before the baby comes? Sure it'll happen. By the way I loved the image of you up at 3am whittling..sounds therapeutic and better than my lying awake doing nothing but stressing. Hope you have some better sleep at night though.

Ok IF IF IF my scan in 10 days is ok, I am thinking about the harmony test as a next step. Not going to help the money issues but for me I think it would be worth it. Anyone have it done in London? tiny I have an idea you did? I think the foetal medicine centre in Harley street is the 'cheapest'? Feels jinxy to even think a few weeks forward...

bootles · 10/12/2014 08:09

Cross posting...

Fab news cat!!!! Am just thrilled for you!

Flen · 10/12/2014 08:32

Cat that is brilliant! Hooray!

Belleende · 10/12/2014 08:34

Woooo hooooo cat clean sweep scan week is still on. (Gulp)
bootles I had the harmony done at the fmc in london at 10 weeks. This was the pregnancy that ended in tmfr. This time round I would consider it, but only after getting results of the 12 week scan and bloods, which makes it more expensive, but I found dealing with both nhs and fmc stressful ,would rather do it sequentially. The scanners at the fmc are fab, really detailed. As well as the trisomy they found other issues that gave me a very high risk of late mc, this was the deciding factor for me and i dont think would have been picked up by nhs. But be warned if you get bad results you will likely get the pleasure of meeting the prof. He knows his way around an amnio no doubt and no one has had more of a positive influence on prenatal care in this country, but he has the bedside manner of bear with a toothache and expects his god like genius to be respected at all times. I deal with senior academics daily so this didn't faze me, but my dp was quite taken aback.

bakingtins · 10/12/2014 09:14

Woohoo cat brilliant news!

belle have a fab day out and try not to give scanxiety too much head space today. We all are rooting for you for more good news tomorrow.

Monten · 10/12/2014 09:20

Just wanted to say amazing amazing news about everyone's scans. Flowers Flowers

And bellende brilliant decision about today. Although work has sometimes been a good distraction, if this experience has taught me anything it's that what's important is you, dh and your family. Taking the time to just spend together, when you've had a bad night, it's a crap training course and it's a beautiful crisp winters day, is so the right decision. Enjoy it.

bythesea82 · 10/12/2014 09:23

cat really great news Grin
belle good luck for tomorrow xx

So a question for you all and I think flen asked something similar but as this thread has moved at the speed of light, I can't find it. Since my results and dr saying that they are not going to do anything for next bfp, just monitor, I would like to feel like I am doing something. Already lost a bit if weight, just a bit more to go, cut down on alcohol & taking pregnacare, much to dp's horror, got him taking the men's conception vitamins Wink. Should I be doing anything else to improve egg health? Wondering about acupuncture....

Belleende · 10/12/2014 09:26

Beware "bythesea* my OH was taking the mens pregnacare and it was like viagra - he had a permanent stiffy and was horny as hell. A few weeks after my bfp I hid them. Shhhh.

bythesea82 · 10/12/2014 09:45

Confused hiding it right now! So not in the mood for that!!!!

TinyTear · 10/12/2014 10:03

Great news Cat

Yes, I did harmony at the FMC. I went at 10 w as NHS wasn't giving me a scan between 8 and 12 w and my anxyety wouldn't take it.

Marchgirl · 10/12/2014 10:35

cat Grin so happy for your good scan. Loving all this good news.
belle, good choice about having a day for yourself. Hopefully it will take your mind of the dread.
Well I spoke to the course organiser and apparently the last day of the course is just an exam, so they have agreed I can take it another day. So relieved that i don't have to compromise on either the course or the scan. So feeling happy today

charlieis30 · 10/12/2014 10:37

daisy just echoing what others have said, after MC1 I hit time to TTC again and I just turned to DH and said "nope, not this month". I just wasn't ready for a BFP. Listen to your gut, if you're not ready, you're not ready! xxx

Catlover2014 · 10/12/2014 10:44

Hey bythesea it's not easy but I'm told giving up tea and coffee helps. I also took B50 and Royal Jelly, both are supposed to be good. Selenium is good for your OH but the tablets smell.

I have tried acupuncture but it's expensive and it didn't seem to make too much difference for me. I started yoga about four months ago and I think that may have helped me relax a little.

Good luck for tomorrow Belle we're all with you. Glad you've taken a day to rest and enjoy some family time. As I've said before work is very low down the priority list right now!!!

Thank you all for your kind messages and support. I still can't quite believe that I might actually get to have a baby...

XxX

charlieis30 · 10/12/2014 10:50

bythesea after mC2 my GP recommended zinc for the DH... he wasn't great at taking it but hopefully it helped! We also both had acupuncture (he loved it, he would nap with the needles in!) and I took coQ10 as well as pregnacare and extra folic as someone on the RMC thread mentioned coQ10 was good for egg health.

longestlurkerever · 10/12/2014 11:48

Fantastic news cat! So delighted things are going well for so many of us.

Bythesea well done on the weight loss. I tried a bit of that too and took agnus castus to try and reduce my cycle length. It may have brought over forward a few days and may have increased my progesterone to let me actually implant properly this time but I will never know if that was the reason.

Dh is not well Sad. He has had on off digestive issues for ages but now they are more on than off and he is getting worried. So far all his tests have come back clear but he is being referred for a colonoscopy. Both his dad and mine died of bowel cancer in their 50s so I can't help but worry as well, though am hoping it is some sort of food intolerance.

Flen · 10/12/2014 12:14

March that's great. Good thinking to ask!

bythesea I had a chat with a family friend who is an acupuncturist working mainly in the area of fertility. She has advised me to take high quality supplements including special Omega 3 www.zitawest.com/buy/supplements/fertility-and-conception/vitafem.htm and www.zitawest.com/buy/supplements/0-12-weeks-pregnant/vital-dha.htm, and also high quality folate once I get a BFP www.amazon.co.uk/Femibion-Pregnancy-Metafolin-60-Tablets/sim/B0094HJCWW/2. She also advised a gluten free diet and a low GI diet too. I am going to try all of that, but not until they have taken the bloods from us!

longest I hope DH gets better soon, and it is nothing serious. Not what you guys need at the moment on top of everything else.

charlieis30 · 10/12/2014 12:39

yay cat!

I woke in the middle of the night after having dreams & dreams & dreams. Lot & lots the last week or so. Then couldn't get back to sleep worrying about cramping, missing some appointments with my counsellor, my next scan etc etc. So tired today!
