Yup, my referral took a few months to come through but I recieved it the week following my ERPC - that said it didn't actually say it was for RMC on it. Just an outpatient appointment!

Marchgirl · 07/11/2014 21:26

Mine was the same boozle. Just said Outpatient appointment, although at least it was headed up dept of obstetrics, but not a mention of the word miscarriage. Do they think they'll upset us by mentioning the word? ! A little information leaflet would have also been nice. I was totally clueless

Itscurtainsforyou · 07/11/2014 22:15

My appointment came quickly, but was classed as an "antenatal" appointment.

Hmm

bootles · 07/11/2014 23:08

Finding your way through the system is a bit of a nightmare hey.

Tanny hope bump is active enough again to reassure you now.

longest just try and stay sane, day to day, bit by bit you are getting there. Hard to do of course, but we are all here for you.

flen I'm not just saying it because everyone else has, but your writing struck many chords and is beautiful.

tannyLoo · 07/11/2014 23:25

Has been quiet all day today, but now I'm in bed, my belly is bouncing around. I've been wearing a belly band for the last couple of days to lift it up a bit. Its only just occurred to me that that might be some of the problem. Doh! Blush

Justonemoretime · 08/11/2014 10:10

Glad bub is still wiggling, Tanny!
I'm getting scan doom already. I can't believe that I have agreed to space my scans out so that they are at 6 and 8 weeks. My first two pgs ended at about 6.5-7 weeks (the third went to about 10, mmc at 13 weeks), anyway, I feel really worried that I'll somehow jinx things if I don't see a scan at 7 something weeks. I realise that this is insane. I have been thinking about getting a private scan but that really isn't practical as the local private hospital seem to only have them on a Monday and the Monday I'd want (just past the danger zone), I'm taking kids out on a school trip so can't take the time off. Two weeks seems so long... Other things that are bothering me are (sorry, TMI) straining when I go to the loo (in case I somehow push out the mucus plug!!!) and having a couple of sexy dreams (because, obviously, this is a sign that my body is 'over' this one and gearing up to ov for the next go). I am insane, and my last scan was only 3 days ago. Also my dates were off by 1, maybe 2 days at the last scan, so obviously there are serious birth defects. Please talk me down, someone! Blush

tannyLoo · 08/11/2014 10:32

I've had it all Just, and more, and I'm still here, wondering how I'm going to carry all this lot around for another 16 weeks.

You are going through normal panics, but you are on a trusted regime, your baby is doing well, and having a scan at 7or 8 weeks won't make any difference to the eventual outcome. One or two days out at this stage is entirely normal, and nothing to worry about. I have yet to meet anyone who has pood a baby out. Sexy dreams are probably your subconscious fears or something, and TODAY YOU ARE PREGNANT!

How's that? Grin

Justonemoretime · 08/11/2014 10:37

Thank you Tanny, I know you're right...I know I'm bonkers... Tiap Smile

longestlurkerever · 08/11/2014 10:40

8 weeks is perfect just because if you had it at 7 it wouldn't reassure you half as much. Because of being away I had my first scan at nearly 8 weeks and it was so good to see proof I was past my danger zone. As for dates, I have had three scans now and been given three different due dates. And even if you know when you ovulated you can't know exactly when implantation happened. Sexy dreams are a definite pregnancy symptom! Xxx

Justonemoretime · 08/11/2014 10:58

Thanks Longest. I've also had a little brown spotting today but I think that its probably the ends of what ever was going on last week, probably just working its way out after dildo-cam. See? A rational thought! Aren't I good? Shock

Marchgirl · 08/11/2014 12:03

just. I totally agree with longest that sexy dreams are a pregnancy symptom! and better to have the scan when you're beyond your 'danger zone' (easier said than done, I know). don't worry about straining either. Being a bit bunged up is another pregnancy symptom (which is another positive!), so I think the straining thing is very common, and isn't going to pop anything out. We're all here if you need to get the worry demons out. Good positive thought about the spotting! I think you're right.

Purplefrogshoes · 08/11/2014 12:14

I think 8 weeks is better than 7 too for a scan

I'm nearly 13 weeks and still driving myself nuts with worry, I still haven't told anyone as I'm scared to jinx it in some way Confused I'm really sick still struggling to eat but I can't bring myself to take the medication the Dr gave me Hmm

longestlurkerever · 08/11/2014 12:15

Totally right just. Brown =old. I have had the same straining worry but nothing bad has happened yet. In fact I seem to have grown a bit of a bump. It is not noticeably pregnancy related yet. I just look fat(ter)but I noticed a colleague clocking my tummy and dh commented. I guess I will have to tell people at work as soon as I have my scan results.

longestlurkerever · 08/11/2014 12:18

Hugs purple. Do you have any more scans coming up? Hopefully movements will kick in soon to reassure you. Sorry about sickness. Hopefully it will ease soon too.

Marchgirl · 08/11/2014 13:15

I really feel for you purple. The sickness is horrible. What meds have you been given? I took prochlorperazine through the hg in my first pregnancy and dd came out fine (although didn't stop me feeling sick, but reduced the actual puking slightly). I think the most common anti emetics are very well proven for many years, although totally understand your anxiety about taking them, and if taking them makes you worry more then probably not worth it.

bakingtins · 08/11/2014 13:26

I really identified with the section in flen's blog about waiting and how RMC can warp time. The time between one scan and the next = seventy million years? From my perspective it seems like all your pregnancies are whizzing by, but I appreciate it doesn't feel like that where you are sitting.
Flowers for all of you where the days are d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g.

I think it is extremely wonderful how you are all so blimmin' funny while going through this. An extremely special bunch of women.

Just many hugs during the horrible waiting, especially in the danger zone. Also I wish you many delightful distractions to make those endless hours whizz past. Also "dildo-cam" made me do a lol.

Purple I completely get that, was so sick in my last pregnancy. Not much helped, but I did find Ribena ice cubes soothing and they helped keep me hydrated. Hang on in there.

Purplefrogshoes · 08/11/2014 17:14

Hang in there just

longest waiting on a dating scan appointment, I have had colleagues gawp at my tummy too I'm wearing scarfs to help hide it but I'm so sick they will have guessed anyway.

march that's what Dr gave me, I don't have hg as Dr says I'm not dehydrated as I can sip water but I have decided that I will take them if that changes

flen the wait between scans is exactly 70 million years, your blog made me cry Thanks thanks I will try ribena ice cubes

Justonemoretime · 08/11/2014 17:17

hope the sickness settles soon, Purple. x

tannyLoo · 08/11/2014 17:27

Purple, this might not work for you, but everyone was forever telling me to have carbohydrates. They actually made me feel worse, and I found salty protein much easier to keep down, so feta cheese in thin slices, grilled bacon and babybels got me through.

Ribena ice cubes sound like a great idea.

Hope it eases soon..

Purplefrogshoes · 08/11/2014 18:39

Thanks just

tanny thanks I will try that

Justonemoretime · 08/11/2014 18:55

Just wondering when people's sickness really kicked in? I feel queasy like I'm a bit travel sick, but not throwing up or anything. In the context of there being no definitive 'normal', does that sound about right for just over 6 weeks?

Purplefrogshoes · 08/11/2014 19:10

just at 6 weeks I was slightly queasy but not all the time, by 8/9 I was throwing up and constantly nauseous. Remember though some people don't get sick at all, my sister never even had nausea.

Marchgirl · 08/11/2014 20:11

I started puking at 7 wks first time round and 6.5 wks the second time. Last two I never got any sickness although I felt queasy (both went to 8 and a half). My friend suffered hg with her 1st pregnancy but not with her second (she's now 22 wks), so it totally varies.
Good sickness foods for me were dried mango (the soft type from waitrose), plain pasta with cheese, packets of oddities (in the crackers aisle) and for at meetings when you're trying to be subtle, the flat lucosade (isotonic?). I also kept shortbread by my bed to eat first thing. I just found it hard to find enough different foods that I hadn't gone off, as I had to eat every hour. Don't underestimate how often you need to eat is my main advice!

Flen · 08/11/2014 20:36

Just I was really sick first time, but not til 6 weeks, then second time did lovely neat little morning sickness once each morning but not at all the rest of the time, and last time was very sick but not til 6.5 weeks ish.

I also had to eat about every 1.5 hours, and found it hard to find anything. Sour and fresh flavours seemed to help me, and like tanny, carbohydrates weren't great for me either.
