Fab news cat !

purple good luck for tomorrow.

longest In my efforts not to be ignored, I think I might end up with eight million different appointments! And getting a box of wine that you can't drink is RUBBISH. Hugs for your limbo. Bloody limbo.

Catlover2014 · 26/11/2014 16:45

Thanks everyone!

Longest I'm not sure what my danger point is tbh. 1st pg I had a 9 week scan but it was an empty sac. 2nd time I had a scan at 6 weeks only measuring 5 weeks but wasn't invited back again and then mc'd at 10 weeks. Also had a suspected early mc at 5 weeks in 2013.

There's no help where I live on NHS so I'm just paying for all the checks at a fertility clinic this time.

All you ladies who are waiting or fed up don't be afraid to contact your local newspaper and or MP.

Also top up care if there is any way at all that you can afford it. If I'd waited for NHS I would never have got this far by now.

XXX

Triplespin · 26/11/2014 17:25

Wow congrats cat, longest, boozle!!

bootles · 26/11/2014 17:57

Sorry you're having a frustrating time with lost referrals flen, its really not good enough. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Blood tests are a start at least.

daisy any script from Coventry can only be picked up from the hospital in Coventry. Did you leave there with a prescription for progesterone? I got results and bfp within a day of each other, so then took the Coventry letter with their plan to the gp, who reluctantly prescribed the prednisolone and more progesterone. Prof Brosens had said if it came to it he would write a private prescription which can be collected at any chemist, but would have had to pay for it. I think everyone on here has had a crazy running around at the point of bfp to collect meds. Maybe look into local services and check what's open when, and how long Coventry clinic is closed over Christmas so at least you'll be prepared.

cat I am thrilled for you, that's another milestone!!

march its a double edged sword hey, wanting and not wanting an issue to be found.

Boozle80 · 26/11/2014 18:05

Hey All, can you talk me down please? I've been having very light cramps all day and then some orangy brown discharge - it's all stopped now I think. I can't go to epu - my dd is home and I don't want to take her and my oh is away. I've now got this almost constant pressure quite low down - about where you get period pains. Argh!

longestlurkerever · 26/11/2014 18:06

triple! How are you?

cat massive milestone for you today then. Congratulations and fingers crossed.

Thank you for the hug flen. I am ok. Head is in a miles better place than it's been in for about a year. Feels very strange to imagine a good outcome this time but at least I am starting to imagine it. Has been weird telling work people. Everyone else I have told knows all tge history so they are delighted for me but cautious. At work everyone has just been asking all the usual questions you ask pregnant people like whether I will find out the sex and how long I will take off for mat leave. Mat leave still feels a few hurdles away!

longestlurkerever · 26/11/2014 18:11

Hug boozle. Lots on the thread have had similar and it's been fine but know why you're worried. Is there anyone who could mind dd for you or go with you?

Boozle80 · 26/11/2014 18:25

Not really - thought I could go tomorrow morning after I drop DD at school - I'm not teaching until the afternoon so could be 'working from home' my sensible head is telling me it's just left over from the spotting I had last week coupled with normal pains. My irrational crazy head has decided it's all over!

Boozle80 · 26/11/2014 18:27

Think it doesn't help that since they cancelled my scan yesterday I've been examining loo roll like its a fine art exhibit.

TinyTear · 26/11/2014 18:28

Try and pop to the epu tomorrow morning then... Might be worth putting your mind at rest

Boozle80 · 26/11/2014 18:29

Think you're right, I'll head over first thing and then at least I'll know

longestlurkerever · 26/11/2014 18:39

Yes do that. Here's a hand to hold till then. X

Marchgirl · 26/11/2014 19:01

Oh no boozle. What a horrid time you're having. I totally understand your worry but after the last time you had the bleeding in your uterus you did also have some brown spotting afterwards, so fingers crossed it is just that again. Think you're right to try and get the scan tomorrow or you'll drive yourself mad with worry. Try not to stress too much tonight and take it easy on yourself. Anyone you can talk to in RL?

bakingtins · 26/11/2014 19:21

Sending (( hugs)) your way boozle sorry to hear you are having a scare. Hope that's all it is. FX for tomorrow.

Boozle, hand holding for tomorrow. Hopefully its just that little clot from the other day working its way out.
Cat, great news on your scan.
Anyone battling the NHS admin, my tip is to get hold of the phone number of the consultant's secretary and get on her case. Good luck.
For Coventry prescriptions, I managed to get a local consultant to take on the Coventry protocol and got everything that way. It was the heparin that were most problematic, but I got it in the end. Good luck.

Boozle80 · 26/11/2014 19:37

I'm sure it's just something and nothing - the spotting has stopped although the cramping is there with a vengeance! I was having a super positive couple of days too! I'd just like to have a very boring, unadventurous few months - I'm sure in my head I make it twenty times worse than it actually is! No one's about in RL really, OH is at work and as DD is fast asleep I can't bob out anywhere for a distraction. I'm taking lots of deep breathes and thinking of other things!

tannyLoo · 26/11/2014 20:00

Boozle I'm sure it will be fine, but glad you're getting it checked tomorrow. In the meantime, get some rest and try to distract yourself with something back to back on iPlayer. xxx

Boozle80 · 26/11/2014 20:07

Masterchef professionals here I come!

Flen · 26/11/2014 20:10

boozle distraction until tomorrow sounds like the best option. More hand holding from me.

just that is a top tip!

bootles · 26/11/2014 21:10

The emotional rollercoaster sounds exhausting boozle. I hope you manage to get seen tomorrow morning with no trouble. Sending you hugs x

Marchgirl · 26/11/2014 22:15

I agree about the consultants Secretary comment to get your appt sorted. That's who got me bumped up the list when they had a cancellation. I pitched myself as a little bit anxious about waiting 3 months because of my age, but also very reasonable and understanding that they were so busy etc. It seemed to work. Hope you get it sorted flen.

Hope you've managed to distract yourself boozle. Everything crossed for tomorrow and hope you get some sleep x

cloudjumper · 26/11/2014 23:06

boozle Another hand to hold from me. Deep breaths. Hope you managed to distract yourself. Fingers crossed for you!

Even my work is now being taken over by pregnancy-related projects! Currently ploughing through endless data tables from a study reporting pregnancy outcomes following exposure to our client's drug... Interesting, but sigh. Wondering if it was such a good idea to agree to work on this... Ah well, too late now!
And I am 99% convinced that the colleague sitting next to me is pregnant...been wondering for a while, but I am certain I have now spotted a bump.
It's strange - I really love hearing the pg announcements on here, but struggle so much more in RL.

bootles · 26/11/2014 23:41

cloud I have loads of pregnancy related stuff at work too, so feel for you. Obviously not helped by your colleague. A bit all surrounding by the sounds of it. I so so hope it happens for you soon xx

bootles · 26/11/2014 23:49

For those of you who are/have been on prednisolone - how did it affect your symptoms? It's still early days for me, and though I do have some symptoms, they are fairly mild - which I know may be because it's still so early. My symptoms have always been reliable and accurate in relation to the progression or not of a pregnancy. I'm going to feel a bit lost if the pred is masking them..
