Yay Boozle! Great news!
Bootles, I'd go for the earlier scan. I was scanned at 5 and a half weeks before HB. I thought (and my Coventry letter seemed to support this) that you should get the claxane from in uterine scan not necessarily wait for HB. There was a paragraph referring to confirmed in uterine scan on the letter I got after my phone consultation. I got mine then, anyway, and used it before HB was seen. I thought the need for a scan was due to dangers of it being ectopic when on blood thinners, which would be v dangerous. I'm sure 6 w would OK, too, but I wouldn't wait too long after that. IMHO, the heparin is nothing short of magic! Good luck!

bakingtins · 18/11/2014 17:50

yay boozle Smile

bootle go sooner. I had scan 5+3, foetal pole but no HB, it's not for viability, sac in the right place will do. You want to be on the heparin as soon as they can be satisfied it's not ectopic.

tiny so pleased to see your update it's all going well.

smoppet you sound amazingly calm and together. Flowers

Bootle I echo everyone else. I was 4+3 or something ridiculous when I had my first scan in Coventry. It was a blob of a tiny sac, but it was in the right place, so I started heparin that evening.

I agree with Just, it is a wonder treatment!

Marchgirl · 18/11/2014 18:01

bootle I agree earlier rather than later if it's just to confirm it's in utero. And hopefully that will help calm the nerves and they'll plan another scan.

Catlover2014 · 18/11/2014 18:28

Boozle that's such great news. I know someone who had bleeding until 14 weeks and she was so worried but the baby was fine. Hang in there, it's looking good.

My 7 week scan is tomorrow. So terrified but trying to stay positive.

Sorry I can't name check every one on my phone. Want to say a big thanks to all of you who have welcomed me back and wished me well.

Hugs to the lovely ladies xxx

longestlurkerever · 18/11/2014 19:09

Good luck cat!

Flowers for smoppet.

I got my combined test results back today. Very low risk of downs syndrome (1:13000) which is nice to hear.

One thing has been slightly bothering me lately. I was on the hormone implant between dd and ttc dc2. Your fertility is supposed to return rapidly after it's removed but since it interferes with both your hormone levels (and progesterone is involved) and womb lining I am wondering if there could be a connection. That said I have been diagnosed with pcos which is another explanation for wonky hormones. Its just that I had no problems pre dd. Anyway just wondered if anyone had evwr had similar thoughts.

Boozle80 · 18/11/2014 19:54

Thanks everyone - I feel completely exhausted now! Cat I will be thinking of you tomorrow, what time is your scan?
Bootle I echo what the other lovely ladies have said - I didn't get the majority of my drugs until 6.5 weeks and the registrar did say they would be more effective if we could start them that tad earlier rather than later.
Smoppet I hope you're still doing ok - sending you a massive hug. It's so hard, especially when you've got to deal with school pick ups and drop offs and pretend everything is ok.

tannyLoo · 18/11/2014 20:11

Cat got everything crossed for you tomorrow x

girliesaints · 18/11/2014 20:17

Wow a lot has happened on here in the past 24hours and I was holding my breath catching up!

Boozle- I was holding my breath reading all the messages and really chuffed you had a positive scan today. Sure there will be other worries to come but pleased you're over this one.

Smoppet- sorry to hear your news. Nothing we say can take away how rubbish it is but I can confirm chocolate and cake is a great help... Although I did put on almost a stone after my last mc, but that's a worry for another day

Waving to everyone else x

Catlover2014 · 18/11/2014 20:26

Thank you ladies :)

Scan is at 8am tomorrow and it's a 1.5 hour drive to the clinicfrom my home so I don't have much time to stress in the morning.

Girlie I bet we all gained weight after our mcs. I blamed mine on all the hormones --but the excess of chocolate was probably what
caused it--.

We're all thinking of you Smoppet

Xxx

Catlover2014 · 18/11/2014 20:29

Excuse all my mistakes there! I really should post from my computer rather than the phone x

Justonemoretime · 18/11/2014 20:40

Everything crossed for you, Cat. x

Marchgirl · 18/11/2014 21:28

Fingers crossed for tomorrow cat

Flen · 18/11/2014 21:31

Hope it goes well Cat. Let us know.

girlie I have put on half a stone after this one! My challenge this week is to only eat one treat a day...!

bythesea82 · 18/11/2014 21:40

Good luck cat
With you all on the joy of chocolate consequences! Cycling and running and weight watchers is the way of it now to try and get back in shape before it starts all over again!!

bootles · 18/11/2014 21:49

Ah thanks all...think that's definitely a plan then. Will -force- persuade new gp to write me a referal letter tomorrow, then book a scan for next week.

just yes from my understanding the clexane is only from confirmed intrauterine scan, once ectopic is excluded. Prof Brosens I think said the heparin is most useful from around 6 weeks, but certainly didn't say not to take it before. Am reassured that many of you had it earlier than 6 weeks.

cat thinking of you tomorrow!

longest I've no experience of the implant I'm afraid, has Dr Google advised anything useful? I also wonder what changed between DS and the MC's. I hope one day we all find definitive answers.

bootles · 18/11/2014 21:52

Hmm I thought -force- would come up as 'force' crossed out. You get the idea anyway.

bakingtins · 18/11/2014 22:28

Double dash bootles !

good luck cat

Great news that you are low risk longest another hurdle surmounted.
Many of us have had one or more DCs then run into problems so I wouldn't necessarily blame the implant. Did you get pregnant straight away after it was removed?

Still trying to get rid of my chocolate consequences, steroids really didn't help either. I've started a bootcamp class on Saturday mornings can hardly walk on Sundays It's all sortable once you are in the right frame of mind though, whatever gets you through the tough times is fine.

cloudjumper · 19/11/2014 00:09

boozle Great news! Thanks

cat Good luck with your scan today xx

bootles I start heparin immediately from BFP when I fall pg, my hematologist has never had any concerns prescribing this from really early on. And it goes give peace of mind!

Send my cover letter for the promotion today and they will interview me! By sod's law, that surely that must mean that I am up the duff, right?! Grin

girliesaints · 19/11/2014 06:00

Cat- good luck for the scan today, will be thinking of you x

longestlurkerever · 19/11/2014 07:50

Good luck cat. Everything crossed.

Yeay cloud. Well done. When is the interview?

Baking I got pregnant with a chemical pregnancy on my third (long) cycle after coming off it, and on every third cycle after that. They've always been early losses (though 2 were missed to greater or lesser extents) and I think consistent with implantation issues but that's never been confirmed. Pcos confirmed by st Mary's and I took agnus castus to boost progesterone before I got pregnant this time (which happened first cycle of trying this time) . Otherwise I had no treatment till I started cyclogest and increased folic acid at 8 weeks. I guess I will never know the answer, and maybe it doesn't matter if this bean makes it as I will stop thinking about what might have been, but I think the larger than planned gap will always be a reminder (though I will embrace the good in that too).

Belleende · 19/11/2014 07:56

boozle amazing news. I think because we are on this thread because we all have a very sad shared history it is almost inevitable that when you get worrying symptoms we tend to automatically think the worst.
longest so chuffed for your downs result. It all went wrong for me at 12 weeks once and now I am a few years older I am shitting it.
I know it is really tempting to look for answers in why we have struggled to get and/or stay pregnant. The reality is many of us will never know. If you are thinking of trying for another one after this, then maybe avoid hormonal contraception, but you could drive yourself bonkers looking for answers that just arent there.

cat good luck with the scan. Not long now.
cloud the week of my bfp 2 headhunters came a calling. They must be able to smell the hcg.

bootles · 19/11/2014 08:02

longest forgot to say good news about the screening - must go a long way to set your mind at ease a little more.

baking good effort for the doing the boot camp! Totally agree that whatever gets you through is ok. I haven't noticed a big difference in appetite
yet on the pred but wonder if it has a cumulative effect over time.

cloud I checked my Coventry stuff again and it does say heparin from whenever a scan confirms it's in the right place. Good luck with the promotion. Let's hope sod's law is in full working order! How long before you can test? I have been putting off looking for a new job for so long now, mainly due to the MC's. I've decided to start properly looking for something else.

bootles · 19/11/2014 08:35

belle sorry to hear you have had a bad 12 wk scan in the past. Me too, and although it wasn't a chromosomal problem (major abnormalities no known cause, leading to tfmr) my 12 wk scan fear is massive. I have had a Trisomy 22 loss as well, and am nearly 41, so that compounds it. But before that terror there is the early weeks terror to negotiate, so can only take it one scan at a time. Have everything crossed for you.

Boozle80 · 19/11/2014 09:30

Keeping everything crossed for you Cat
