Aw just hope you hear soon and get a good plan of action in place. I do know what you mean about the not getting any younger... my 40th last year really hit me hard, but this year wasn't so bad...

Didn't tanny go cold turkey when camping? I just want to double check Grin

tannyLoo · 24/09/2014 08:02

Just I feel frustrated for you. Lack of communication is always stressful, but when it's something as important as this... Have you called them? I have found that calling Kerri a couple of times usually shifts things along a bit. If they are wondering what to do next, they need to tell you that!

Tiny I was given no advice about coming off them both, only about reducing the prednisolone. In practice, I stopped them both before 12 weeks, as I'd had lots of healthy scans and was feeling like shit. I stopped the progesterone first, and cut it down, so I was just using one at night. I did that for about a week and then stopped. Then I stopped the clexane. No reduction, and it was fine.

It just made sense not to give my body too much of a shock by stopping them all at the same time, but it wasn't the recommendation. I also cut down the pred much more slowly than they advised as I had shocking withdrawal symptoms.

Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone, the new job is a necessity but I'm looking forward to it.

Sorry to any newbies joining us, it is shit, and I hope you find some support and advice here useful.

Yes! Nothing like a freezing tent and having just got into a nice warm sleeping bag when you realise you haven't injected yourself in the stomach! I said "oh fuck it!" and went to sleep... Grin

So this morning I've been to see my doctor after not getting a very sympathetic reaction at the EPU clinic yesterday. Firstly couldn't believe I got an appointment the same day (this never happens) Secondly the GP was very supportive and agreed tests should be done particularly as my parental grandmother suffered from recurring miscarriages between her first and second child (something I hadn't considered and only a result of the doctor asking some questions) So going to start with hormone tests (which the GP seems to think will be ok as I have no problem getting pregnancy, just staying pregnant) and then will refer me to the fertility clinic.

Really pleased that my own doctors are taking me more seriously than the blooming EPU clinic nurse was Smile

I was told to stop progesterone and pred dead on 12 weeks and wean off the pred. In practice I used up my last few progesterone one a day. The placenta should have completely taken over by 10 weeks but it just felt a bit kinder to give it a few days to adjust!

girlie great news that your GP is more proactive.

just I hope Coventry get back to you today with a new plan.

Hi everyone, Hope you are doing okay, scan showed sac and small Yolk sac but they think too early to see anything else especially as I have long cycles and a retroverted uterus but Dr said looks fine so far but definitely not getting my hopes up yet

Bristolian1 · 24/09/2014 12:19

Good news purple xx

bakingtins · 24/09/2014 12:30

So far so good purple keeping everything crossed for you. Do you have another scan booked?

Purplefrogshoes · 24/09/2014 12:35

Thanks, Yes for 8 october, I also have a corpus luteal cyst but Dr said that was fine but I don't remember having one before

bakingtins · 24/09/2014 12:47

CL cyst is a normal finding in early pregnancy, don't worry about it.

girliesaints · 24/09/2014 12:51

Purple- remember small reassuring steps will turn into hopefully bigger strides soon x

charlieis30 · 24/09/2014 13:24

purple corpus is normal, it's just from the ovary you dropped the egg from. It gets absorbed back into the body towards the end of the first trim I think.

ronconcoke · 24/09/2014 13:24

Hello, thought I'd check in here. I am in process of having MC No 2 having had an early MC last November. DS is 4. Started bleeding on Sunday at 7w. Just had scan this morning which showed I only have blood clots left inside, but they took my bloods as said need to rule out ectopic as they have classed it as a 'pregnancy of unknown location'. I fully doubt it's ectopic as I've had no cramping, just constant blood flow, but will have to wait to see what bloods say.

Work have said I can have the rest of the week off if I need to which has been a blessing as I've had to force myself to go in the last couple of days. I have been very emotional (feeling a bit better now as I write this) - much more so than when I miscarried last time, at only 5.5w, as I had hardly had time to get used to it then.

We have been TTC No2 since early summer 2013 - my husband works shifts so it's not been easy to coincide with my ovulation! I fell pregnant straight away with DS, and had a very smooth pregnancy, but I'm 38 now so maybe age isn't on my side! My mum had me at 40 though.

Anyway, just thought I'd share, as it's nice to know there are others out there going through the same emotional upheaval and, frankly, complete shittiness!

Bristolian1 · 24/09/2014 15:29

Welcome ron, I'm really sorry to hear about your losses Flowers

TinyTear · 24/09/2014 15:38

good news purple

welcome ron sorry about your losses

Justonemoretime · 24/09/2014 16:25

Glad all looks normal, purple, hope your next scan is even more reassuring.

Welcome Ron, sorry you find yourself here, hope you find the help and support you need here and in rl.

Got emails from everyone on the Coventry team today :) I have a phone appointment on Tuesday next week (just before I Ov), so hopefully they'll have a plan and then by some miracle I won't need it!

Did someone get back to you, too, Tiny?

I meant to say yesterday, Charlie, I'm glad you got some answers. Weirdly comforting to know there was a reason, isn't it?

girliesaints · 24/09/2014 16:40

Welcome Ron. The ladies on here are lovely and provide a wealth of advice if you need or inspiration x

girliesaints · 24/09/2014 16:42

Quick question, is there any particular preconception vitamins that are generally recommended? And if so is just for the female or the male as well? Been to the chemist as GP suggested start taking them instead of just folic acid and didn't realise there was so much choice!

Justonemoretime · 24/09/2014 17:01

girlie, I honestly think they're all the same. As long as they're pg or conception ones, I'd go for the cheapest/whatever is on on special offer. Amazon sometimes have good deals. Smile

Tranquilitybaby · 24/09/2014 17:17

Solgar, Vega or higher nature are all decent quality vitamins. The quality does vary a lot actually xx

cloudjumper · 24/09/2014 17:20

I usually take Sanatogen prenatal vitamins, and they are often sold together with Omega oil capsules as special offer. Or Pregnacare, but they are really expensive...

Cbfm is still saying 'low' - very strange, it is usually really aligned with the OPKs and temp spikes when ovulating. Tempted to ignore it and go with the temp and the (very weak) OPKs alone. Sigh...why can't this be easy...

charlieis30 · 24/09/2014 17:41

girlie i take pregnacare, the really expensive ones as it makes me feel like im really throwing something at the problem. i also take coq10. the dh takes zinc per our gp's recommendation but nothing else.

Bristolian1 · 24/09/2014 18:47

girlie I also take pregnacare. Probably a giant waste of money but I also just got some 'wellman' pills for DH. Am sure that they will do nothing but I'm embarrassed to say that they make me feel like I am trying to do something...

Bristolian1 · 24/09/2014 18:51

I'm grumpy today as:

  1. Am ovulating (1st time since MC) which I know because my dermoid cyst is REALLY painful. Grr.
  2. My best friend had her baby today. He is beautiful. She is one of the only non work people who knew I was pg and I haven't told her about the mc as didn't want to upset her around her due date.
girliesaints · 24/09/2014 19:47

Bristolian- nothing wrong with being grumpy. I think everyone on here has earned the right to have their off moments. Big hugs x

Thanks everyone with the advice on tablets. Took Pregncare last time but found the tables horrible to swallow so think I'll try whatever else is reasonable in the chemist x
