Welcome everyone, pull up a chair! A thread for anyone who has suffered multiple miscarriages and is in need of company, information, moral support, tea or sympathy.

Can I suggest we start page 1 with a recap of where we are all up to, because my fuddled head can't keep track?

Sooo. AF lasted 1 day. Just in case, I just POAS this morning: BFP 1-2 weeks since conception (fits in with dates when we DTD). Hmm Going to ring GP but not getting my hopes up, seeing as it's started with a bleed before it even registered on a test (although that does mean hcg was rising as/after I bled). Well who knows? As my mum endlessly says many women in my FAM have false AFs 1st few months of pregnancy and it's nothing wrong.

butterfly86 · 02/01/2014 07:45

Whispering congratulations squiz it could well just be implantation or like you say false af, I know this doesn't make any of us worriers feel better but my friend went for her 12 week scan and she was 16 weeks she had a full blown period so didn't realise she was pregnant. Get on to the gp this morning, will keep everything crossed for you x

Justonemoretime · 02/01/2014 08:00

Morning. Congratulations Squiz, hope it's a sticky one. Remember, you are diagnosed and can be treated so be hopeful that the treatment will work.

Weirdly, my cycle continues to perplex me... after +ive opk last week, I took temp today first thing, just to see and its low. I don't chart properly, but it was in the pre ov range today. more opks over next few days to see what happens and more d-ing TD I guess? BTW, this is me not obsessing or trying too hard... fail.

squizita · 02/01/2014 09:22

Good luck Just! My temps are confusing too, hence I poas for everything.

Just got me some heparin. IT BURNS IT BURNS! I iced the area 1st - any further tips anyone? Mucus is still not 100% clear, dunno if the end of fake AF or start of MC. :( Still, got to keep the faith.

DownstairsMixUp · 02/01/2014 10:09

Jbrd I could of written what you just wrote! Both me and DP barely speak about it, it's like some unwritten rule in our house that we might jinx it. Hmm Also there's a girl on my FB at the moment who announced her pregnancy and she's SIX WEEKS! she's also got people planning her baby shower for June and they've set up an event for her. I was Shock I'd be terrified something would go wrong!!

squiz It sounds like implantation. I got an implantation bleed on last pregnancy but it took a good week for the pregnancy test to pick up on it. With my DS to had a IB on 14th of December 2008 (how sad I remember dates!) didn't get a BFP till 22nd of December! Congratulations! I think there's a few of us in the "PBW (pregnant but wary) club" at the moment.

Just That's why i never really did temps as I thought I'd get obsessive (says me who remembers IB from 2008!!) FX for you!

I am utterly shattered all the time at the moment, this is always my first symptom of being pregnant. I felt like I could of fell asleep on the till at work yesterday I was that knackered, had plenty of sleep to so it's annoying! Haven't peed on a stick for a few days ha! I'm tempted to buy a conception indicator and see if it's gone up but that would make me crazy wouldn't it Blush

Notgivingup1 · 02/01/2014 11:01

Very quiet congratulations squiz. Good luck with the heparin - will be joining you on that when I get a BFP some day (I hope) I know a few people who thought they had a period, tested a few days later and got a BFP. They all have healthy babies so try to stay positive. I know it's so hard though. I am on day 27 today and got a BFN this morning. Bit gutted as we really tried this month but it does mean that at least my cycle has gone back to a respectable length. Still no AF. I am puzzled as to why I could get pregnant within one or two cycles and since my 3rd miscarriage and we got the go ahead in sept to try again - nothing. Has anyone else had this? just have never temped as knew I would be obcessive so have only POAS. Maybe a good idea to keep doing that this cycle. Sorry to hear NYE was difficult for you jbrd - I've considered deleting my FB account because of all the smug comments so I know how you feel!Try to treat yourself to something nice today or this weekend

nearlyreadytopop · 02/01/2014 11:05

squiz congratulationsSmile . I think I remember baking working out the least painful way to inject.
downstairs I am knackered too, luckily been off on hols this week so have a had a few afternoon naps. I'm driving myself mad wondering if this time its going to be alright. Hopefully the epu will be in touch soon and I can get a scan next week.

tannyLoo · 02/01/2014 11:05

Squiz whispered congratulations here too. I remember Baking having some good heparin advice a few pages back. Can't remember what it is though!

Poas and nada, which is good news for now. Still not sure what my body's doing, and I guess this might just be a wtf cycle.

Going out for a crisp walk in a bit, might help things along a bit...

JBrd · 02/01/2014 11:18

squiz Congratulations! Wishing you a boring pregnancy with a healthy sticky bean! What a start to the year... Have everything crossed for you.
About the heparin injections - avoid pinching the skin too much when you do the injections. I found the more I pinched the skin (esp at the start, when I was a bit nervous), the more it hurt and the worse the bruising. I also found that it hurt more in some places than others, so you might want to try different areas to see if that applies to you, too. You will get used to it, believe me!

Back t work today, which is certainly a distraction. January is going to be busy, so hopefully not much time for moping about. Let's face it, I won't be able to escape the FB comments, and even more so as one of my close friends (who is currently also my childminder) is due in March - we would have been bump buddies almost to the date Sad She also had a mc last year, and I couldn't be happier for her, but it hurts all the same, and I struggle more because she is a close friend, so can't just ignore it.

TinyTear · 02/01/2014 11:31

Congratulations to everyone with a BFP, wishing you all safe and boring pregnancies

Purplefrogshoe · 02/01/2014 14:11

Congratulation squizita fx for a very boring uneventful pregnancy! happy new year everyone! Hoping for 2014 babies for us all xx

bakingtins · 02/01/2014 16:11

Hi everyone and Happy New Year - been on radio silence for a bit as traipsing round the country visiting rellies.

Squiz lovely news to come back to! Congratulations! I hope this is a sticky one for you and for all the currently PBW ladies.
Re the heparin, what worked for me was to ice the skin before and after, don't pinch a fold of skin, just stretch out the skin and slide the needle under (angle upwards about 45 degrees) inject very slowly to allow the heparin to disperse, withdraw the needle and ice again. It does sting, and some sites seem to be worse than others, but that technique stopped me bruising and it was nowhere near as painful.

tannyLoo · 02/01/2014 16:30

Phew Baking glad you're back! I was floundering around without you for advice to give Squiz!

squizita · 02/01/2014 17:36

Thanks all and big thanks to Baking for the injection advice! :) Am still paranoid. Have a feeling when I pull apart the bog paper and scrutinise it that the slight mucus I get when pg is brown/pinky to the tiniest degree. Logically I've just stopped bleeding so it would be anyway but I'm sure now the clinic has me booked for a check up I'm jinxed. Hmm MAD WOMAN as per usual.

Tanny hope your cycle settles down soon. Glad to hear it seems to be going the right way. It's so frustrating and wearing when it takes ages.

JBird hope your January work return isn't too stressful. It's so hard when friends are pregnant but it sounds like you're handling it well.

tannyLoo · 02/01/2014 18:37

Squiz we all know that paranoia!

I'm feeling nauseous and have backache and some cramping but no sign of af. Not so sure it is settling.

New batch of cheap hcg poas arrived this morning, so I guess I'm up with the dawn chorus again if no af overnight.

Ffs...Hmm

fedupofrainydays · 02/01/2014 18:53

Been off for a few days and it's all go! Yay to bfps... Cautiously of course. Fx for healthy easy pregnancies.

Tanny - I feel a bit like you now. Well not exactly. Not sure when af is due - prob next week sometime but I've got back ache, spots, nausea, creamy cm and only mc three weeks ago. It's most likely to be my hormones going a bit crazy - I hate it how these are so similar to preg symptoms tho. Aggghhhhh!

tannyLoo · 02/01/2014 19:36

Fedup, we don't half put ourselves through it!

I haven't had a period since August. How crazy if I'm pg again.

Hope you can get through the 2ww...

DownstairsMixUp · 02/01/2014 19:49

I did a conception thingy today... changed to 2-3 weeks so guess ill go gp tomo! Scared!!

squizita · 02/01/2014 20:09

Downstairs 2-3 weeks = :) and lots of positive vibes for GP.

Tanny fingers crossed.

Fedup yup PMT and PG are sooo similar and have caught me out every time (including this one) one way or another. Keeping fingers Xed!

squizita · 03/01/2014 08:25

:( Just went to the loo (TMI- to do a number 2 with slight constipation so some effort) and after I had some mucus with pink (ie red) blood in it. :( Looks like this one was just a chemical pg. Bugger.

fedupofrainydays · 03/01/2014 08:33

Oh squiz I think it's ok as mucusey. So part of the burying in process / formation of the plug. The pushing of doing a poo pushes the cm out.

But I don't know. The same happened with my recent mc but no mucus, just brown spotting that was more constant but got worse when did a no 2.

Have you past af due date yet? Big hugs xxxxx

Justonemoretime · 03/01/2014 08:36

Sad Squiz hang in there, it ain't over 'til its over. Maybe just wtf spotting. I once had a massive clothes soaking bleed at 6 weeks and baby survived it (not a happy ending, ultimately, but it wasn't the bleed that did for it). Thinking of you, its a horrible time just before scans can give you peace of mind. (hugs)

Purplefrogshoe · 03/01/2014 09:06

squiz Sad could still be implantation?

Notgivingup1 · 03/01/2014 09:50

squiz I agree with just - it's so horrible to see blood but I had that for 2 weeks with my last

Notgivingup1 · 03/01/2014 09:54

Oops posted without finishing. I had spotting every time I went for a no 2 and the baby was fine when I went for scans. Ok it wasn't in the end as it had turners but at the time they said the bleeding was just one of those wtf things as everything was growing etc. hang in there Brew
