Welcome everyone, pull up a chair! A thread for anyone who has suffered multiple miscarriages and is in need of company, information, moral support, tea or sympathy.

Can I suggest we start page 1 with a recap of where we are all up to, because my fuddled head can't keep track?

fedupofrainydays · 26/12/2013 14:36

Hi welcome david

I too burst into tears yesterday eve over my port and stilton with news of other pregnancies. Everyone else just seems to get pregnant so easily.

fedupofrainydays · 26/12/2013 14:36

Congrats nearly!! How exciting!!

bakingtins · 26/12/2013 15:20

Congratulations Nearly, hope its a sticky one.
Welcome DTM, love the name BTW! Sorry you find yourself here. Good luck with the road ahead.
Hoping 2014 will be the year I finally manage to reproduce. Try hard not to try too hard.

butterfly86 · 26/12/2013 15:52

congratulations nearly fingers crossed for an uneventful 9 months :)

nearlyreadytopop · 26/12/2013 17:16

Thanks everyone, I'm in two minds about what to do next. At my last clinic appointment they said next time they would scan weekly for reassurance. But I don't know if I can handle the weekly stress.

bakingtins · 26/12/2013 17:29

You can probably ask for scans at the interval you would find reassuring, nearly. When have you previously miscarried?
I had early scan to make sure pregnancy was in uterus before starting clexane then weekly scans from 8 weeks as I have prev MC at 8-10 weeks, then a 12 week scan when they signed me off from the RMC clinic, then I paid for OSCAR screening at 13 weeks, so I had 6 scans in first trimester Blush
It was a bit of a pain trailing back and forth to the hospital but I wanted to know ASAP if it was all going wrong again, and it did briefly provide some reassurance each time. Of course it doesn't affect outcome so do whatever is going to help you handle it.
I'm now stressing about the 3 week wait for 20 week scan - have not really got the hang of "no news is good news"

nearlyreadytopop · 26/12/2013 18:04

last one was at 7 weeks with no hb and routine scans at 5 and 6. scan for bleeding at 6.5 which was said to be an eroded cervix and finally confirmed mc at 7 weeks.
One before that I had bleeding and scans every week between 6 and 12 before mc at 17 weeks. And before that scan at 6 weeks for bleeding and mc at 7.
I think the scans give me false hope. I might try to hold off until 7 weeks when there should be a hb.

davidtennantsmistress · 26/12/2013 18:42

Ow congrats nearly fingers crossed for you lovely.

Fed up... Would you like me to share my choc and wine with you? I've got a big slab on offer. Wink

Thanks for the welcome.

squizita · 26/12/2013 19:22

Hi DTM welcome. You should definitely push for testing! Excuse my ignorance but the losses you describe as chemical PGs - they were at 8 weeks? I always thought (based on medical advice including St Mary's - all my losses were 7-8 weeks) that a loss after about 5 weeks is a miscarriage - even a blighted ovum. Just mentioning it in case any docs try to fob you off if they hear the word 'chemical' rather than miscarriage.

I got tested for a blood clotting condition at St Marys after 3 losses. All blighted ovums (1 was a suspected partial molar) - 2 natural and 1 ERPC. Now I'm diagnosed my chances have increased in a similar way to Baking's although our conditions are different.

Purple that's so tough. I think most of us have those moments with new babies and it's all the more raw at Xmas. :(

BDed Sat-Tues, today woke up feeling tired, sick and sore boobed. DH pointed out it's too early for symptoms yet and it's probably a surfeit of cake and turkey! Grin Ah well. I POAS on the 31st or the 1st ... Going to do it 31st morning, then if no BFP again on the 2nd. Because if I am I'm going to be after that heparin quick!!!!

squizita · 26/12/2013 19:24

Nearly congrats! :) Sorry my tablet just updated with loads of new messages!

Justonemoretime · 26/12/2013 20:21

Advice please. After stupid short AF, I am now on day 5 since LMP. I know I respond to oestrogens when I have had hrt in the past and always had 'proper' AFs when I've had to take it. And I have some left. I was thinking about taking a tablet for 3 or so days next week, just when oestrogens would normally peak naturally. What do you think? Beginning to wonder if I'll ever get a THB (take home baby). Envy

TinyTear · 27/12/2013 07:15

Merry Christmas everyone and congrats on the BFPs.

At the MIL and feeling a bit meh but shall perk up when back home.

squizita · 27/12/2013 12:13

Just sorry youre having AF issues. :( I'm too much of a medical idiot to offer any advice - hope someone can!

Tiny hope you feel better soon!

Medical idiot question: i'm about 5 days past ov. Sore boobs etc. As my sticky blood attacks the embryo early doors, want to get on meds sooner rather than later if it's a BFP. So...
...what's the earliest one of those fancy electric early response pee sticks will work, do you reckon? hhmmm... contemplates spending her sales savings on daily clearblues...

DownstairsMixUp · 27/12/2013 16:22

Hello all not had the chance to read all yet but i got a bfp on boxing day! Feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing, not ready to go over to any special boards yet and not going to the doctor till a few weeks pass. I won't enjoy these (hopefully) 12 weeks at all but i'm glad i have this page for people who understand that!

squizita · 27/12/2013 16:43

Congrats Downstairs wishing you a sticky bean and no scares or stresses _(as much as possible). :)

bakingtins · 27/12/2013 17:32

Downstairs congratulations! Xmas Smile how lovely to have a smattering of Christmas BFPs!

squiz I reckon 10 days post ov is the absolute earliest, but I wouldn't believe a negative at that stage. Is there any value to taking the meds next week and then stopping if you get a BFN at 14 dpo or if AF arrives? Not sure what meds you would have to take but that's what I did with the progesterone...

just not ignoring your HRT question but don't know enough about it. Presumably the oestrogen would stimulate a decent lining. How were you told to take it when you were on it officially?

OP posts:
butterfly86 · 27/12/2013 19:33

Congratulations Downstairs! Loving all the bfp's at christmas Smile

nearlyreadytopop · 27/12/2013 19:38

congratulations downstairs here's to a trouble free 9 monthsBrew

squiz I got a very faint line on the amazon cheapie sticks on day 11 after suspected ovulation. I had to wait for the full 14 days before I would allow myself an expensive clear blueSmile

DownstairsMixUp · 27/12/2013 19:59

Thank you all! I'm trying not to talk to DP much about it as he doesn't want to get his hopes up (his words, bless him)

squiz I was 10dpo when i got that positive test, it was faint but very clear, no squinting required, i'd upload the pic if i knew how! I bought a conception indicator today and am 11dpo now and it came up pregnant 1 - 2 weeks (which is correct)

butterfly86 · 27/12/2013 20:01

Right ladies personal question alert but what do you all do about dtd when pregnant we haven't done it since finding out and I think dh is a bit erm frustrated Blush I'm just terrified but surely we can't go the full 9 months?

DownstairsMixUp · 27/12/2013 20:09

Personally butterfly even since my mc's i carry on sex wise as normal, it's one thing i really think does not do any harm unless you have been told otherwise. I feel bad about eating pate xmas day though Blush (I didnt know though!)

Justonemoretime · 27/12/2013 20:31

Grin Downstairs . Best of luck.

My HRT previous was to take it for either 14 days + (led to 2.2cm thickness and 8 day period) or 28 days with extra progesterone from day 19 to temper over done lining. That led to v heavy 6 day period. There are risks if you take it for extended lengths of time. But it does seem to boost lining (evidenced by 5 day AF rather than 2 day one. More worried it might screw up ov. I would totally be self medicating, tho.

squizita · 27/12/2013 21:18

Thanks all! Baking it's baby aspirin + heparin (and not allowed pre-implantation they said) so I can't actually get hold of the injection half of it without some evidence of a BFP. Otherwise you bet I'd be on it! Bought some early test ones and will try Monday. Fingers crossed.
