Went in for a scan this morning, 9 weeks today, bean measured 6 weeks and no heartbeat. Was booked in for repeat scan next Friday to check (cause a grown woman can't possibly know her blooming dates Hmm ) they didn't give me any info or advice on what to expect or what to do, who to call, stay at home, come into hospital, nothing.

I had a little bleeding brown and red last few days and now it's gone heavier and numerous large clots coming away. No pain as yet. have popped a couple of codeine, put on large thick pad, comfy leggings, sorted out my hot water bottle, had a bit to eat and got comfy with duvet on sofa.

What can I expect? I don't want my baby to go down the toilet Sad

Poor you, how is it going? Miscarriages are awful. Sadly I have had two. One at 8 weeks and a MMC at 14 weeks. The 8 week miscarriage was just cramping and clots and was over within a day or so. The 14 week one took a bit longer and was a bit more painful, more cramping (but not unmanageable on nurafen).

I also went on to conceive 6 weeks after each miscarriage and now have two DS's.

Seems to have stopped? Barely any blood when i wipe and only passed the initial clotty bits I posted about earlier. is it normal that it can stop and start?

Have been stupidly reading on a misdiagnosed miscarriages website and have also been trying to work out if there's any possibility I could have wrong dates. Clutching at straws much?!

Had lmp 3rd Feb 12 and got a BFP on 5th March 12. Trying to work out if there's any way i could be 6-7 weeks and not the 9 weeks I thought but I just can't see it?

Going to go and try to get my head down again x

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It can stop and start and perhaps you have already passed the worst of it? Phone the doctors if you are worried about anything at all.

Although stranger things have happened in some cases, I would stay away from those websites as mostly they offer little but false hope. If you had a bfp on 5th March you would have to be at least 8 weeks now by my calculations.

Hopefully you have managed to get some sleep. Miscarriage is absolutely awful and I hope it is over soon for you.

FF I had mmc at 6+5 so a few days further on than yours? I had medical management and found the little sac on toilet paper after I wiped - it was very small, with just a tiny pink/white blob inside a clear sphere - less than size of 10p piece I would say - then the bleeding started a lot. So, you may have passed it, but everyone is different so is impossible to say for sure unless you see it or have another scan.
Just be good to yourself! Allow for wallowing - it is utterly awful and I wish it never had to happen to any of us. When all the physical side settles down you still have a lot of hormones: I kept crying when I saw those adverts on tv with animals on etc (and I never cry at tv normally!!!)
And if the bleeding is very heavy, speak to the EPU and they should be able to give you advice on what to do depending on how heavy it is...
I'm so sorry you have had to go through this too... x

Mine was straightforward at 8 weeks pg. After the cramps and stuff it turned into a heavy period type thing.

No medical stuff. TBH I didnt realise that women had to have that until I saw it on MN Blush

I hope you are getting some sleep and you are being looked after.

So sorry to hear that this is happening to you. It sounds as if your body is doing what it needs to do. All I can add to others' posts is to keep taking painkillers if you need them, expect to feel rubbish for a little while and do allow yourself to wallow. It can take a little while for your body to settle down afterwards, you'll probably "feel" pregnant for a bit.

I hope you had a good sleep

Morning all x

I did manage to get some sleep although was up and down a bit (evil mother nature making me pee through the night still and roll over onto sore boobs)no pain (bit of cramp but only to level of the stretchy growing pains you get anyway) no further clots and again only blood there is when i wipe, I've barely stained a towel yet.
Looks like it's going to be a gradual process more than the over in a day thing I assumed.

OH has gone into town so have told him to pop into the pub for a few (coke!) while he's out and see if any of his mates are in to talk with, we both had a lot of messages from friends who we hadn't realised had been in this situation. Poor bloke was out at Asda last night getting me stuff and his friend who is a taxi driver pulled over to speak with him (not knowing) and pulled out their scan pic of twins. Not sure who would have felt more awkward there Sad pleased for them obviously but was a bit raw for him.

Thanks once again all, means a lot and will keep posting if you don't mind, you don't have to reply, just want to get it down somewhere, it's very therapeutic.

Good to hear from you x

Sorry it is taking a while for you :(

I guess all you can do is keep warm & comfortable and do your best to distract yourself Watch some crap TV or phone a friend or something...

I hope OH finds a few mates to have a chat to. Poor him & poor taxi driving mate :(

Keep typing away...

Cramping now, feels hard/in a ball suppose that's contractions starting then. Codeine time I think, will make something to eat even though it's furthest thing from my mind to help the painkillers work better.

This was an unplanned and complete shock pregnancy after having previously been referred for IVF due to secondary infertility and I was really struggling to get my head round it all, feeling rather guilty about that now.

Our little Widget is gone Sad

Had increasing cramps that the 2 codeine didn't seem to take an edge off and felt stuff coming away so went to sit on loo.

Saw it in the bottom of the toilet bowl, baby/sac about an inch long and fat like a grape and saw head shape too.

Bye bye baby xxxx
